If you're looking for Orla Kiely this is the place! 2/27/2007

So, what an adorable name ""Behind the Post office."" The name itself invites curiosity. This is an adorable boutique carrying Ella Moss, Citizens of Humanity, Puella, but the best treat of all...Orla Kiely. Brett Cope, the owner is fabulous and the customer service really stands out! Behind the Post Office carries adorable Orla Kiely clothing and handbags. Price points are average. Be sure to check out the bargain bin as well! This store is a real treat like pink lemonade on a sunny day. Stop by, you won't be disappointed! Pros: Great customer service and great selection Cons: Parking! more

The Blue Dress 8/7/2006

I'm 25 now and from DC. I have family out in the Bay Area and the summer I was 16 I spent it out there. Fabulous city. One day I was taking a walk down Haight and happened upon this fabulous little store where I bought a dress unlike anything I'd ever seen/felt/touched before. It was magnificent. The designer was VENUS and there were two Jamaican guys (brothers) who worked there. Could someone tell me if they are still there or are the owners? I sometimes dream I'm in San Francisco and this may sound weird but I need to go back to that store. It's like it calls my name. I hope it hasn't changed much and gone too trendy. Because all the stuff they had seemed to be custom-made for the store. Does anyone know if it has changed much? DO TELL! Pros: Fab shopping Cons: Haven't been there in awhile more

Best place for jeans and great personal attention 7/23/2006

I was shopping in this neighborhood last weekend during a visit to San Francisco and was pleased to find this store. The owner was extremely friendly and helped me pick out a fantastic pair of jeans. If she decides to go e-commerce, I will most definitely be a jeans follower. The place is small but makes the most of the space with great lines and eye-catching merchandising. Pros: no pressure sales attitude, helpful and informative, great clothing lines more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! 10/27/2005

I do admit I bought a couple things, and they are beautiful, but the sales assistants, OH MY GOD!!! I was totally ignored, even though I WAS THE ONLY ONE AT THE STORE!!!! She was talking on the phone!!! And looking at her nails! And now I would rather spend my money somewhere else were I get proper customer service. more

expensive, but nice...good customer service 9/4/2005

i have to agree..the girls at behind the post office are nice. i've only had one so-so experience here in terms of customer service, and the girl just seemed sort of snobby. every other time the girls have been very sweet and helpful. i guess it just depends on who is working. as far as the clothing goes...great stuff...expensive, but i don't think that's the shop's fault...save the markup, the clothing brands are, for the most part, just expensive lines. so cute, though. i usually just sift through the sales bin, since i hate buying full price! Pros: cute clothing, stylish stuff Cons: expensive more

a reliable favorite 6/22/2003

Great jewelry from local designers. Selection is usually solid, but I wish they would take more chances and have a wider variety. more

cute boutique... 9/10/2002

this tiny, tiny boutique on the haight is a favorite place of mine to go shopping... it has so many pairs of seven jeans i can choose from... there are quite a few unique articles of clothing i can peruse and choose from... must go and see what they have new in... definite must see and shop boutique... more

The best! 8/16/2002

Love this shop! Hip but approachable. Plus they have the most adorable sales staff on Earth. more

BPO rocks!! 8/16/2002

BPO is the coolest women's clothing store in SF. The clothes are great, the people are nice, and the vibe is right on. It's an original store where quality is clearly as important as making a buck. Go there now!! more

I look gorgeous! 8/16/2002

My title says it all. When I shop at Behind the Post Office, I'm treated like a queen and always walk out looking and feeling like one! more

Great Sales People 8/1/2002

It's true that you can find more brands and selections elsewhere, but BtPO has more Development than anywhere else, and the sales staff is refreshingly kind and helpful without being pretentious. I think these two factors alone make it worth a visit. more

Great Duds 7/25/2002

Good place to get hip quick -- finally getting over baggy-liscious. ;) more

Really cute, a little overpriced 7/22/2002

Without a doubt, Behind the Post Office has the best style on Haight St. So why are the prices way out of range for the neighborhood? more

Great place to shop 7/22/2002

Thanks for the good selection and nice people. I shop here all the time. Great tops Pros: jeans, tops Cons: parking more

BPO rocks!!! 7/22/2002

I came to BPO to get a pair of the famous 7 jeans. The staff was so helpful. They worked with me until I found the perfect pair. Their prices were better than other stores, and they even hemmed my jeans for free!! The rest of the clothes are very cute and hard to resist. I love thier Development stuff and great jewelry too. They are freindly, and create a really comfortable place to shop. It's small, but all cute things so you don't get overwhelmed. Behind The Post Office is my vote for favorite SF store!!!! Pros: best price on 7 jeans, knowledgable staff, variety of selection more

Interesting but small selection 5/20/2002

I enjoy stopping into this boutique just to see what they have in stock at any given time. They sell mostly trendy clothes that edge toward classic style. It's a small place, and I rarely actually make a purchase there, but the selection is always interesting and high-quality. They carry both men and women's clothing, as well (usually) as a few shoes and accessories. more
