I've been going to the Beehive for two years, always with the same stylist. She is amazing, always gives great haircuts-- I'll say, "I don't know... maybe shorter???" and I always...

not bad, not great 11/30/2005

The place has a funky interior. I was a little disappointed in my $55 haircut. It was not bad or anything, just a little overpriced I thought. Still, it's hard to find a good haircut place in that area and it's better than some of the others. I'm sticking to Manhattan next time. more

Love, love, love it. 9/9/2005

I've been going to the Beehive for two years, always with the same stylist. She is amazing, always gives great haircuts-- I'll say, "I don't know... maybe shorter???" and I always walk out pleased. The prices are reasonable for New York (unfortunately!), they're really a great little outfit. more

Hip B-Burg cuts 8/20/2005

In this mecca of East Billy Burg hipster hairstyles, you get the gamut from the old 1950's hair dryers of Beehive's namesake to hair stylists with full sleeves of tribal tattoos. The 'doos are not bad, but they ain't cheap either, so maybe this is the place for the once a year, special occasion cut, rather than your regular monthly cut. more

Hipster haircuts with a smile 4/22/2005

With its laid-back, homey atmosphere—tea and candy on the coffee table in the waiting area, cheerfully kitschy decor, and pictures of local performers on the walls—Beehive Salon exemplifies all that is neighborhoody and creative about Williamsburg, minus the attitude. You might run into Beehive’s stylists behind the bar of one of the area’s numerous nightspots, or reading from a novel-in-progress at a local coffeeshop, but they are as friendly as they are funky, and give great haircuts and other services at reasonable prices ($35-$45 men's cut, $45-55 women's cut). This local bastion of hipster coiffure—Betty Page bangs are well represented here—draws a loyal clientele, from Brooklyn and beyond. more
