We Believe that Jesus Gave us a Succinct Mission Statement Just Before He Ascended into Heaven. It is Found in Matthew, Chapter 28:
Therefore Go and Make Disciples of All Nations, Baptizing Them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and Teaching Them to Obey Everything I Have Commanded You.
This Mission Statement is Not Up for Grabs, but Each Church Must Decide How It is Best Accomplished in Their Unique Context. For us at Bedford Church, We Believe this Mission Can Be Fulfilled by Prayerfully Doing the Following Three Things.
We Exist to **Bring** People to Jesus. We Can't Change Lives. We Can't Forgive Sins. We Can't Give Second Chances, or Mend Broken Hearts. Only JESUS Can Do These Things. All We Can Do is Bring Our Friends to Jesus and Let Him Do What He Loves to Do.
We Exist to **Grow** into the People God Has Dreamed of us Becoming. We Believe this Growth Process is a Combination of Personal Will, the Holy Spirit's Guidance and Authentic Relationships with Other Believers.
We Exist to **Serve**. Jesus Was a Servant. He Didn't Come to Be Served. He Has Instructed to Serve As He Did. We Believe We are to Serve the Physical, Spiritual, Social, and Relational Needs of Those in Our Community.
