To anyone who has written a nice review, thank you. To those of you who have written a not so nice review, I am sorry. If we made a mistake or were not able to provide you exemplary service, we let you down. I can give you all kinds of reasons why or what happened, but the bottom line is you felt so bad about me or us that you posted something here. For those of you for some unkown reason hate me or our company, i am not sure why. No one here is a convicted felon, criminal, or wrong doer. We are here to help you. We are not bad people. We are Experienced bookkeepers and tax preparers. The majority of the folks who get audited we help them prepare their paper work and as long as they have the supporting documentation we win. I have been doing taxes since the mid 1980s and i plan to continue to do so. Anyone who has a question or questions about my ability or our companies ability, please come by and see us. I have been using Becker's Tax Service since I was in High School. My parents, brothers, sisters, and family use Becker's Tax Service too. This company has always been there seven days a week to help us with our taxes, finances, and small business. Some of us, like everyone in these times of recession, have been audited. As long as we could support the things we claimed on our tax return, there was no problem. I was examined for 2008,2009,2010 for my small business and I had a no change audit for all those years. My father had to pay a little back in, but not as much as the IRS first said and it was because he did not keep really good records. All i can say to the people who have posted less then kind reviews, is you must be kidding. This company is the best. Thank you Joe and Becker's Tax for always taking care of me. more

I used Beckers to handle my small business accounting needs for 3 years and found that the IRS and Texas State Comptroller was always after me for something that was supposed to have been submitted by Beckers. The final straw when IRS wanted a remittance for a 2008 tas year discrepency. I passed this on to Beckers for verification, where is sat for a couple of months until the IRS threatened to place a lien on my property. The work that I finally pressed them to do by sitting on someones desk until I had something was incorrect. I finally resolved the problem myself by finding Becker's mistake, and the IRS claim was valid. I had to pay my new accountant ot go back and fix other mistakes in Becker's book keeping because they refused (by ignoring my reque3sts) to cooperate in correcting the errors or even to return all my financial files and documents. more

IVE BEEN USING BECKERS TAX FOR 5 YEARS THEN IN 09 I STARTED GETTING AUDITED FOR 07 TAXES AND HAVE BEEN AUDITED EVERY YEAR SINCE!!! Normally my taxes are pretty simple and clear cut, but a couple of years ago I had a foreign tax credit left over from the previous year that I did not know how to handle. I went to Beckers, waited in a long line and went through the process with a tax specialist. After finishing she asked me if I just wanted her to go ahead and file my return. I was shocked and told her no, that I hadn't even looked over it and neither had she. So she printed it out, I told her I would take it home and look it over and call her back and then she could file the return. When I looked it over, I realized that that not only was the foreign tax credit handled incorrectly but that also the tax deductible IRA that I had contibuted to and we had discussed was not on my return. I went back to Becker and had to wait in the long lines again. After making a big scene in the waiting area over my botched return I was able to speak with Mr. Becker. After looking at my return he brought someone else out to handle it and inform me that my return had erroneously already been efiled and that we would have to do a revised return. The errors on my return amounted to a reduction of refund from the IRS of around $7000. Had I not had previous experience doing my own return I probably would not have caught the mistakes and we would have been out $7000. Doing a revised return also delayed our refund considerably. Needless to say they refunded the fees that we paid to them.Then a year later we received a notice from the IRS that they had found another mistake on the return that I missed. Two numbers had been transposed and we owed about $250. The most concerning thing to me was that I called Beckers several weeks after we had done the revised return and asked for the person who had initially done our return and she was still working there. She was obviously not qualified to do the job and they kept her employed. Pros: None Cons: Incompetent Employees, Long Waits, IRS Problems more

This is the third year that I have gone to Becker's Tax Service and it will be my final. I am regretful that I even went to them again this year. The first year this company filed my taxes, they messed up on my dependent's SSN and I had to call them several times to get fixed. I also had to keep calling to try to get a copy of the corrected return. The second time I went to them to file my taxes, I had to once again call repeatedly to get a copy of my return. They were supposed to mail it out after I received my direct deposit. I received the mail copy only after weeks of calling. This year, Joe Becker is trying to save on paper, so he promised to email me a copy of my return once the return was deposited into my account. Surprise, surprise, no email with a copy of my return has arrived yet even though I already received the funds in my account. No, Joe never asked me if I would like a copy, he simply stated that it will be emailed because he spent over $280,000 last year on paper. "So you pay my enormous fees and print it out yourself because I'm going to save money on paper," is what Joe is simply saying to me. I would never go back. I did my own taxes on Turbo Tax prior to going to Becker's and it was the EXACT same amount that Joe came up with, minus the $380 in fees that Joe charged. Not only do I not trust them to do what they say and get my own copy of my own return in a timely manner, but I could have saved the enormous fee of $380 to file a simple return. I guess I deserved to be swindled out of $380 because I went back. Never again! Cons: high fees, unreliable more

THANK YOU BECKER'S TAX SERVICE. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE FIRST TIME HOME BUYER PROGRAM. THIS WAS MY FIRST YEAR WITH BECKER'S TAX SERVICE AND I PROMISE TO COME BACK FOREVER. I HOPE YOU CAN HANDLE THE WORK, I WILL SEND YOU ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THE 2009 REFUND WAS THE BIGGEST REFUND I HAVE EVERY HAD. THAT $7200 INTEREST FREE LOAN FROM THE IRS WAS GREAT. I was really upset and frightened by the fact i was being audited by the IRS. My qualms were put to rest by the Becker's Tax Service team. They explained to me that all i had to do was provide to them the documentaion that supported the expenses i claimed for my business. I am a doctor and having them to guide me along, made my life so easy. I did not even have to talk to the IRS. So I just wanted to say thank you Becker's Tax Service. i will always be your client. I want you to know that know that you have had my business for the last 15 years and I will never leave your company. Over the years you have always been there to help me. When I was audited, you fought and won for me. You have advised me on my taxes, insurance, and financail palnning. I am glad you threw Randall Klein out of your office. He was not a nice man. Becker's Tax Service is Great. They do the payroll, bookkeeping, and incometax preparation for all of my companies. Joseph Becker works seven days a week and is always available. He knows and understands how busiensses work. I know Joe used to be a CPA, but his company is and always was a bookkeeping and tax firm. Same knowledge and caliber service at a lower price. Over the years he has handled all my IRS problems and audits and has done an outstanding job. I will never take my busienss from Becker's Tax Service, and will keep referring them to everyone I know. When I first came to Becker's Tax Service and met with Joseph Becker and His wife Grace, I felt at home. He had couches and a big screen Television in his waiting room. Toys for my kids and his five kids were there in the office playing while he worked. Seven years have gone by since then and I have never regretted using Becker's Tax Servcie or know Joe becker and his family. I owed the IRS $97,000 when I first came in. Joe amended my last three years returns and Becker's Tax Servcie did an offer and compromse and i ended up paying a little less then $5000. Every year since then Joe has always been avaialble to answer all my questions. When i was audited for 2005, he instructed me how to make my mileage log and worked with me to put my receipts in order. Lucky for me that Joe threw Randall Klein out of his office, coz Randall said I couldn't win my audit. Under Joes guidance and his staff representing me, I had a no change audit. We won in appeals, just like Joe said we would. I consider him to not only be the best tax guy, but my good friend. I will keep going to Becker's Tax Service and continue reffering my friends and family. Pros: Cares about you, Knows the Tax Law, always available Cons: none more

I went here because a friend told me "Joe" could get me more money. Against my better judgement I let this man prepare my taxes and low and behold, he got me several hundred dollars more than I normally would get. However, about 6 months later I received a notice that I was being audited. Joe said they would represent me free and so against my better judgement (again) I let this "firm" represent me. When I would call to check on the progress of my case I was told it was all under control. Apparently it was not under control, as 3 months later my bank account was garnished, leaving me nothing. I ended up calling the agent assigned to my case and handling the case myself. The agent told me that they had received no contact from Becker's office and that was the reason they garnished my bank account. The agent also informed me that there were deductions on my return that I wasn't aware of...something about some Unreimbursed Employee Business expenses. He asked me for receipts, etc to prove this expenses and of course I didn't have any...so they disallowed the deductions. Now I am stuck owing 3 times more than the "extra" money Joe got me. I worked out a payment plan for the remaining balance myself...but in the meantime my bank account was wiped out and I had to borrow money from relatives just to get by. I never asked Mr. Becker to cheat on my taxes...I just assumed he knew some things other accountants don;t hence the reason I got more $ back. Turns out, he just knows how to cheat the system...which makes his clients happy until the audit. My advice: avoid this place at all costs. Pros: None - absolutely none. I urge you to read this review before having Joe Becker touch your taxes. Joe Becker has had his CPA license revoked in the state of Texas for doing illegal business. There are many people that I know that have gone to Becker's Tax Service to have their taxes prepared and the great thing is he gets you a lot of money back up front. How he does this is by lying and cheating the system. Then within a year you will get a letter from the IRS giving you 30 days to prove all of your write offs and if you have no proof then you are sent a bill that has to be paid with in a certain amount of time. This fee also includes penalties from not being paid on time. I urge you to not use this man and to tell everyone you know that he is a FRAUD! more
