awesome 3/4/2012

I have been going to bean traders since the day they were open and everything is just as good if not better than the first time. The staff is always friendly and the coffee is always exceptional (even the decaf). Why support a corporate chain when you have something better locally owned. more

Delicious coffee every time 10/6/2008

When I moved to Durham in 2005, I couldn?t seem to find a coffee shop near my house aside from Starbucks. I actually looked up reviews here on Citysearch and read about Bean Traders. I realized it was right beside the Harris Teeter where I had begun to shop. Anyway, I've since made it my favorite coffee shop around. They have delicious flavored coffee beans used to create their 4 daily brew selections. A lovely young couple owns the shop. \r \r For the holidays they make a Christmas-blend which is different each year. It is delicious, so much so that I can?t do my Christmas shopping without stopping by for a cup beforehand. more

The Staff is Awesome 3/29/2008

I live near Southpoint and for over a year have drove by this unassuming Bean Trader Coffee House, but to my delight I stopped in. The coffee is good, as good as any others I have been to in the area, but I think the staff is what set it apart. I had decided to purchase some coffee beans and was helped by a knowledgeable gentleman... he knew all about the beans and gave me some wonderful suggestions. I have been back many times due to the service and the coffee been quality. This place has saved me from having to drive to ""Southern Season"" (which is always so crowded) in Chapel Hill, plus it's less expensive. Thanks for all your help guys. Pros: Great Service and good coffee bean quailty. Cons: Latte and mixed drinks could use a little help, better Fair Trade selection would be nice more

BEST COFFEE IN TOWN - BEAN TRADERS = FAMILY 12/6/2007

Best coffee in town, hands down! When you walk into Bean Traders you feel like you are visiting family that you love and friends that you can't get enough of. Bean Traders is very personable, the coffee house equivalent to ""Cheers"". Bean Traders is definately not your run of the mill coffee shop, they offer little things like seasonal raffles, fun coffee flavors and chocolate covered esspresso beans! There's no place like Bean Traders! Pros: The baristas will get to know you and make you feel at home Cons: It can be a little busy in the morning but the line moves quickly and it's worth the wait! more

KILLER coffee KILLER tunes 10/27/2007

I love this palce. I am only in it for 30 seconds every morning, but they got great friendly owners and staff! The coffee is always superb. I see the same customers every day at the same time. That tells you somthing. The music is always cool too. Machine Gun, at 7:00 am, Stones , Neil Young, ect. They are wayyyyy better than Starbucks. Try this place out. I have turned everybody at work onto them . Pros: Great staff Cons: Parking is a hassle somtimes because of the gym. more

My local favorite 5/5/2007

I've been going to my neighborhood Bean Traders for years. Sometimes it's just for a quick coffee on the go, and sometimes, like I'm doing right now, to have a vanilla latte and a bagel and work from my laptop over their wi-fi hotspot. And a little while later I'll take home a pound of organic fair trade coffee, which they roast on site. The place is friendly, comfortable, and reliable. I only wish they'd add orange juice to the menu, so I could get my morning o.j. along with my coffee.\r Pros: Wif-fi hotspot, variety of good coffee and tea and other drinks, service, ambience Cons: Limited food offerings more

Even the Decaf Rocks 11/7/2005

The plain old coffee is smooth and sassy. So many great flavors to choose from, in regular and decaf. Be sure to listen to the great music they play. The owners and their staff are a delight. They make you feel like you're family (in a good way) and never take the snobby Charbucks route. For kids, the cocoa is superb. The sticky buns are beyond decandent with more incredible frosting than the law allows. Pros: friendly staff, decaf flavors, hip hangout Cons: strip mall location more

Bean Traders Rules 9/7/2004

Their coffee is wonderful, they make the most consistently creamy latte I have ever had. Even better though may be their selection of danishes, muffins, and breads. If you go not only will your food be wonderful but a friendly sales person awaits you as well. Pros: coffee, customer service, food more

Wish there were more like this! 5/19/2004

The best thing I can say about this place is the consistency. I always know I'll be able to find a good cup of coffee, roasted to perfection. Christy and Dave really know what they're doing and really care about the product, which is evident in the continued excellence. The only caveat; it's so far from my house in Apex :) Pros: Consistency, Knowledgeable staff, Friendly service more

Like no other! 6/15/2003

Christy and Dave have created a comfortable coffee shop without the snobishness of that ""other"" coffee place. They are friendly, and serve a wicked bean. The rotation of the available types of coffee and variety of pastries, cookies, etc. will keep you coming back. And if you are luck enough to be there when they are roasting the beans you will understand why BeanTraders is like no other in town! Pros: Price, Atmosphere, Friendly more

Best of the Best... 1/15/2003

From my very first sip of coffee at Bean Traders, I knew I was in love... The coffee is smooth and not bitter -- and the staff is great too... I drive 5 miles out of my way every morning just to get my cup of coffee... Bean Traders by far makes *THE BEST* cup of coffee I've ever had. Try it and you'll agree! Pros: Good Parking, Great Selection, Wireless Access Cons: Small tables, A little crowded more

Excellent Review by Clark 10/14/2002

Bean Traders has the best beans in the Triangle. Their Celebese Kolossi is the bomb. The people who work there are really nice and funny. The music is interesting. Just an all around great coffee shop. Puts the original and the McStarbucks clones to shame (this means you, Caribou). Number one!! Pros: Great Coffee, Friendly people, Nice ambiance-art more

Best Coffee Around 10/8/2002

Beantraders is the best place for coffee in the Triangle. I've been here 15+ years and have tried them all. BT's staff is wonderful (Christy is the best!), the pastries are to die for, and absolutely no place has better coffee. Newcomers are greeted as if they were old friends. The staff not only remembers your name, but your coffee preferences as well. They have become our weekly hangout! more
