Beadworks is colorful 5/24/2009

Beadworks is a nice store. The staff is usually friendly but won't tell you how to make a necklace. You have to take their courses and it's not free of course. When I go there they always have new items. They have semi-precious stones and many others. The shapes and sizes are never the same so it's so unique. The beads are very colorful. They also sell already made necklaces, earings etc... If you buy a lot you will get a discount I think. Some beads are more expensive than others because they are semi or precious stones. The store is well organized(so small anyway) and you will see the names of each stone. The only think I don't like about Beadworks is that is way too small and if you are claustrophobic is not the place for you. Truereview here to tell you the truth. more

This place has a great selection of beads and other jewlry paraphanelia, I don't know of any other place like it really. You can even sit down and make your necklace right in the store! Good weekend afternoon activity potential especially with kids of the beading ages. more

All Your Bead Needs Met 5/21/2006

Take a basket when you enter Beadworks and start working the room. Make a note of what you are picking up and the staff will sort it out when you pay. This is a great place to make your own jewelry as well as bring in a necklace that needs a new catch or earrings that are missing a loop – the staff can tell you what piece to buy. Also jewelry making supplies. more

Bead Works 4/24/2006

Bead Works is a wonderful invitation to an onsite hand-on foray into the quantum world of beads. For newcomers, it is an altogether more creative experimental activity than that tired word connotes. Only natural crystals come in a more dazzling variety of shapes and sizes. Whether earrings, a necklace, wristlet, bracelet or anklet, one selects from conveniently arranged trays of beads. Materials and ideas quickly trake shape on the simple yet organized work spaces. And thsoe dextrous bead workers will help you finsih up with a tricky knot or stylish clip. Beads convey a lot of charm ahnd Bead Works works like a charm.Don't miss the clases books, tools and findings. They offer quarterly classes, repair and custom services, and gift certificates more

A store selling only beads can be successful... who knew 8/17/2005

My husband works in Harvard Square and he always used to walk by Beadworks and laugh, since it was ALWAYS full of people!! He always suspected there must be something shady going on besides the sale of beads... He'd ask, "How can a store that sells only beads be full of people all the time? How do they not go out of business?" I'd always agree. Then one day, I was walking by and was drawn in. Then I was hooked! I never thought I would say this, but I could spend hours looking at all the types of beads that they have... their beads are from all over the world and they get new ones in all the time (and get rid of old ones). I made bridesmaid jewelry for my friends as a gift to thank them for being in my wedding. I have learned to make necklaces and made holiday gifts for family members. It is quite an addictive habit! I am still really a novice, but the staff is helpful if you are trying to find something specific. The prices are high, but I have found that beads are pretty expensive no matter where you get them. Enjoy! more

Good place to find a fantastic selection of beads. Everything laid out very well, color-cordinated with lots of examples to give the creative muse an extra push. Store is well lit and organized, everything you could possibly want or need is in one place. Staff is extremely helpful. I love to make my own jewelry, which allows me to coordinate the colors that make my mood and clothing perfectly. more
