You can make beautiful necklaces and bracelets with the beads found at Beads Forever. They carry semi precious beads such as opals and rubies so your creations can go beyond those made with common beads. Take advantage of their great workshops. Students get a bead discount. They do have some completed necklaces for sale if you don’t want to do it yourself. more

Good Selections Poor Prices 1/15/2006

Every store has its comparatively high and low cost items. This store didn't. It had all items with an extremely high markup. I stopped in this store for an emergency jewelry fix and the item I needed was depleted at Fred Myer's down the street. I initially didn't mind because it was a good excuse to go into a craft store...a weakness of mine. The prices were more than 4 times Freddy's for even simple findings. I did reluctantly buy the item I needed, however since I was buying so little the sales clerk was very standoffish towards me. The item I bought cost me $4.00. Had I picked it up at Freddy's it would have been $1.25 for the same quality item. The selection was similar to other bead stores in town, but the prices higher than both the brick and mortar places as well as on line. I asked her about a few items in the store but I got the feeling that since I wasn't buying much now she had made a judgement that I wouldn't in the future. Good customer service means pulling customers in to come back. I was definitely not pulled in by the service or the prices or the selection. more

High prices forever 9/23/2005

I've stopped going to this store completely, mainly because their prices are over-the-top and their selection doesn't make the trip worthwhile. The last time I went in, I was looking for sterling silver earwires. When I found out that it was five dollars for a single pair, I stuttered and stammered and left. (The average price is $1-$3.) As far as I can tell, they only stay in business because their location in one of Portland's best shopping districts makes them more visible than other, less expensive stores. more

Great place to get unusual beads! 6/15/2005

I love making beaded jewlery and have a hard time finding beads I like and want to use for my projects. I always walk out of this store with a nice selection of unique beads for my jewlery. Their prices can be high, but since there is not much in the way of bead stores near my home I pay for what I want. They always seem to be getting new items in so I try to check in once or twice a month. more
