Honestly It is Really Hard for me to Get all this OUT! I get sick to my stomach about it- I do NOT know how any of these guys sleep at night... EACH and EVERY ONE of them KNEW EXACTLY what they were doing to me, how they were ripping me off and What the consequences were for ME FOR WHAT THEY WERE DOING TO ME!""SOUL-LESS"" ""THEY STOLE MY CAR I WAS RENTING FROM THEM AND REPORTED IT STOLEN...meanwhile sneaking charging my card over 8000! LEGALLY I've had to REMAIN QUIET until NOW What they have done to me is Deliberate,Cruel Theives! $25,000.00 In fraudulent charges, attorney fees, private investigator, court fines!Eric E Vahid, Byron, Boko, ""al"" perez,Malicious,DESPICABLE, CORRUPT,Arrogant,NASTY GROUP OF Ugly LIARS!!! 05/31/08 Rented a Vehicle $249 WEEKLY, $1,150 30 DAY (including insurance) Basic Care Rentals from Byron at 10687 santa monica blvd.they authorized my credit card for $1,000 as I was renting vehicle 4 weeks. The only car they had a cracked windshield I was told I could exchange it following day. 3DAYS Later that car broke down. took.24hrs before I got a different car. That Night tire blew out I USED my aaa and I ended having to buy a tire couldn't get hold of basic Over the next 10 days I had to call let them know of car was having issues.I would have to call all three locations and or text Eric and Al the managers to get a response they were very ""casual"" attitude. June 16th I get a extremely rude message from ""byron"" stating to me ""the car is reported stolen and it needs to be returned immediately and the police have been notified.""No explanation why... I'm freaking out!I have no idea what is going on!No one is answering their phones at any locations regular business hours. I sent several texts to Main Manager Eric Vahid and La Brea Manager ""Al Perez""(fake name it turns out) I am terrified to drive the car to them as I don't want to get in any sort of trouble.2 hours and still NOTHING- I have my friend follow me to a hotel parking lot about a mile from their location where I park the car leave the key under the mat and again left messages at all locations and text both managers with location of car and key and TO PLEASE CALL ME!WHAT IS GOING ON! June 17th drove by where I left the car it was gone, June 19th I called my credit card company confirmed that basic car rental charged and was paid $1,150that day.Even though they had over charged me 400bucks I felt some relief as they had car and closed out my bill. Maybe some crazy misunderstanding and they were too embarrassed to call me back. AUGUST I AM GOING OVER MY CREDIT CARD STATEMENT ""BASIC CAR RENTAL"" 5/31 $1,000.00 (THEY KEPT CC. AUTHORIZATION TO A CHARGE) 6/17 (BASIC RENTAL girl- ""BOKO"" got my v.m. picked up car at hotel lot ) $3,800.00 (I PAID 3,800 to a P.I. TO verify above) 6/18 BASIC CAR RENTAL REPORTED ME AS DELINQUENT ACCOUNT TO EQUIFAX, TRANS ETC.) 6/19 $1,150.00 (Basic Charged my CC for Rental) 7/15 FILED STOLEN VEHICLE CHARGES ON ME W.LA COURTHOUSE. 7/17 $6,000.00 (CHARGED MY CC FOR A ""Late"" VEHICLE (at $6,000= 157 days rental > its about 47 days from 5/31) 8/28 FILED STOLEN VEHICLE CHARGES ON ME SANTA MONICA COURTHOUSE. $6,500.00 ATTORNEY FOR NEXT 9 MONTHS $2,800.00 P.I.they had the car been renting it whole time.in fact it had been impounded 2x's and released back to basic $3,795.00 Court Fines / Processing fee's Totalling $25,045! I am still making payments! Al and byron are Flat out lying on the stand. I HAVE ORIGINAL CONTRACT, ALL MY CC BILLS AND CELLULAR BILLS CONFIRMING ALL MY CALLS AND TEXTS TO AND FROM THEM, ""KNOWLEDGE"" THEY HAD THE VEHICLE THE WHOLE TIME.subpoena are expensive for ""Eric Vahid"" and records(""hints"" had been made that they remove all paperwork everyday to go get filed somewhere else. so I'd never get them anyway) Trial atty fee starts 15,000.I had to take a plea. I don't know WHY they did this to me? Maybe I made them mad because THEIR car was having problems! I was polite more

Using this company has literally took years off my life. I was charged unexplained fees for a car that I rented. I honestly don't know why I rented from them. The business location made me feel uncomfortable and I should have trusted my instincts. The car was filthy, smelled and the quoted price wasn't even close, they were rude and inexperienced. I had the car for two days and was told everything was fine after the inspection when I dropped the car off. I then see charges on my credit card for damage. Really, if it was damaged why did they sign off on the car inspection saying it was fine. I to this date have had to battle to have these fees removed. They have yet to produce evidence of damage and they do not answer any calls. You honestly owe it to yourself to use a reputable brand with a trusted history of good business dealings more

This is one of the best experinced that I have for a long time and for that reason I keep renting from this place all the time so far I rented 35 times and always happy with their service. They always give the best deal to everybody I always recommend this place to all of my friends and family. I would have to say that Basic Car Rental exceeded my expectations. In taking this trip to LA with my wife I had to save my pennies. So we had to bargain shop and save where we could. Found out the hard way that this is just a local car rental place owned by an auto mechanic who needs a lesson in professionalism and customer service. Think the price you get on the website is the price you pay? Think again. The price quoted to me from my internet reservation was doubled at the time of the reservation due to all the ""add-ons"" they had ""forgot"" to mention. I was so desperate and late for my meeting in San Diego I just paid what they asked. Do yourself a favor and pay the extra few bucks to rent from a reputable car rental company. I found out later that Enterprise is located two blocks down the street. If you think you're saving money you'll probably pay more than others with their scams. Also, the car they gave me was horrible (side panel was falling off!!!). When I went back to return the car, a girl from Germany was also being told different stories and being scammed.
