Why you would want to join Bally is beyond me, I wish I knew how horrible it was before I had joined. The Sugar Land staff was extremely inauspicious and the facility is only average. I wanted to cancel my membership with them and they kept giving me the run around, and I was willing to pay the cancellation fee. Just because my experience with this facility and the national office I will never use or suggest anyone to Bally. I am now using the University of Houston?s gym, it is enormous and well worth the membership. It has an Olympic size pool, outdoor pool with slides, six basketball courts, six racquet ball courts, indoor and outdoor soccer field, rock climbing wall, and a lot more! I grew up in Houston but don't live there anymore; the membership fees are so low that my parents kept my membership alive even after I moved away! So I can work out here when I visit home. Bally's has always been a quality gym for the price, reliable but no frills. This location is nicer, airy-er and newer than the location we used to go to (Sharpstown, which was dingy and old-feeling the last time I went, but hey, it's fine for what it is). Good variety of equipment and classes, friendly staff, plenty of parking and location is easy to get to. No pool at this location and, like most (all?)
