Total Rip Off & Fraud \r Current/Possible Patients Watch/Review Billing Statements\r \r This office is only concerned about ripping its clients. first thing they do is send someone to discuss the money options, don't even ask the Patient if he/she is interested in the procedure before going for financial terms. In my terms it is wasting someone's time. Another main thing, in my case there was a screw up on my first visit. There was no Cleaning done, when called to complain was told by the Dentist (only after insisting the Front desk Girl & threatening to write to the Board if Dentist will not call back), there was a mistake. Was asked to reschedule another appointment to get the Cleaning done. The Insurance was billed for both visits, which is a FRAUD. When called the office back, was called back by some Office Manager who told me when I asked about it that ""They will be refunding the monies to the Insurance"", but what about my inconvenience blunt told ""Who cares."" I am writing to the California State Dental Board about this FRAUD & issue. \r more

Staff and doctor were all terrific!! I usually don't write reviews but I had to write this one. I was surprised by some of the other reviews since my experience was probably the best dental experience I've had. I was referred by a friend after having some bad experiences at other offices. The doctor was so thorough and so gentle I didn't feel a thing! The insurance gal Chavonne was also sweet and helpful! Everyone made me feel comfortable which usually doesn't happen going to the dentist. I've heard though most patients are seen by one of the other several doctors there and Dr. Bang only sees a few patients anymore since she's the owner and only works a few days. That's too bad but I'll still be back and will be switching the rest of my family there also! more

I would check off zero stars if I could. This dentistry is very unprofessional, from the start the receptionist are rude, they make you wait a very long time, making you feel worthless. Every time I went there they over charged me. Shavonne, however you spell her name never makes an attempt to really find out whether your insurance covers your dental work or not. Every time I had something done she came back with an outrageous amount of money, and then I had to remind her that I had two insurances and even then she never got it right, until I called the insurance myself. Dr. Bang is very rude and she doesn't care about how you feel about the finished product. I told her I didn't like the work and she didn't make an effort to change it. She didn't care. The rest of the dentist are all newbies and lack experience to do any cosmetic procedure. Please save your money and go else where. I thought it had only happened to me, until I saw more bad reviews. This is the very first review I post and it is very long over due. more

Unprofessional, lack of communication or concern for clients not to mention extremely unfriendly and unhelpful front desk staff. Here's my story: I signed up via a groupon for a 1st time exam. I filled out the paperwork over 1 month before the scheduled exam (earliest they had). I checked the box that I was pregnant. I do not hear a word or receive an email pertaining to my paperwork. Fine. I wait the month and finally go in for my appointment. For the first time, at the front desk, I am told since I am pregnant I need to have a doctor's note allowing for the x-ray or I need to wait until I have the baby. THEY WILL NOT GIVE A CLEANING/EXAM WITHOUT THE X-RAY. Unprofessional and a waste of my time. I waited an entire month for the appointment during which this was NEVER brought to my attention. To top it off, the front staff was unapologetic and treated me very poorly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. more

this office placed a crown that fell off. They told me it was my fault, not theirs. You wait hours to receive treatment. They owe me for treatments billed but never done. They deny owing anything. They will not call you back unless you threaten to stand out in front of their office to warn incoming patients of the horrible treatment. If I could give less that a one star rating I would. They lie, lie and lie some more. more

HORRIBLE service I have been trying to get someone to call me back for a month....every time I call someone will call you back before 5. Still fighting with them they were suppost to refund me my money for a crown its been a month now they say at least 60 to 90 days before they will be able to process my refund they have tried to get me to do unnessary lprocedures that are not covered by insurance and if I elect not to do them they tell me my insurance will not cover anything else of course that depends on who you talk to when you do get ahold of someone then it is let me do some digging and I will call you back before 5.......STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE THEY WILL SCREW YOU and they dont care about there patients at all!!!!!!!!!!! more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS DENTIST OFFICE. They are rude, nasty people who have absolutely no respect for their patients. They make you wait for a min. of 30 min. before you go back, make you wait while treating other patients, the office manager will lie to your face. Tell you one thing then when you ask she will deny ever saying anything. I had a credit with this office which initially they admitted to then I had to fight tooth and nail, only when I threatened to sue did I get anywhere. more

NEVER NEVER NEVER go to this dentist. They WILL try to rip you off, they have absolutely no respect for your time and they will flat out lie to you. I was having upper dentures made. They made an impression before my teeth were extracted because I was told they were making a temp. for my teeth that were actually missing and I could come in the following day to pick it up. I had to go out of town so actually called three days later. After the office manager hemed and hawed she made some bogus excuse that I had to make another appointment before I could pick up the temp. I went in since she didn't bother calling back as she said. When I showed up they had not been made by the lab and I had to come back. When I finally did get my hands on the temp it didn't fit and the office manager said she was unwilling to help make changes so it would fit. She has lied about other issues in the past as well. Moral of the story record your conversations with these people more

FYI... River Lakes Dental is owned by the same company...From experience patient care is the same in both offices.... They are money hungry! As if the economy is not bad enough.. They had the nerve to ask if I have $$1000 + for dental treatment...I dont think people walk around with 1 thousand dollars in their pocket to pay for dental work... for #1 crown, that they recommend. They did not even bother to tell me what my insurance covered, I asked....Not cool making people wait for appointments, especially after informed my 5 year old complaining of pain...They told me to call back and check if anyone cancels their appt... more

Here is my simple story. I lost my bottom whitening tray. So I asked Bakersfield Dental Group how much it would be to replace. I told them I still had my mold so taking one wasn't necessary. I just needed the little plastic tray for my bottom teeth. My price: $90. Really? Wow. \r \r So I then went over to another dentists office, who shall remain nameless, I am not a fan of slander...and long story short this dentist made my bottom tray for free. Now granted, I didn't expect Bakersfield Dental Group to do it for free. But considering the money I had already spent with them to do the whitening, their $90 statement wasn't very tactful.\r \r Bottom line is this office is all about money. They really don't seem to care about much else. There are so many other dental offices to choose from...I would recommend looking around. There is really nothing that stands out about this place. \r \r Read the other reviews. These have to say something right? Hopefully experiences like this and honest feedback more

The doctor and staff are absolutely awesome! My sister referred me to this office and so glad I tried it. They've turned a person who used to be afraid of going to the dentist into someone who actually looks forward to going to visit the dentist. That says a lot! I have had two appointements at this office and it was the worst one. I live in Philly and for business i was for a couple of weeks in Bakersfield. Just found the office buy internet because i had a swollen gum, so the site was nice and it didnt had bad reviews at that moment. I needed according to them a clean up, a crown and a filling. The first day they put me on a chair for 2.5hr and the second day almost 4hrs. Nobody seemed to help me i felt sleeped the second day until a lady came and asked me ""have you been helped""?, UNBELIEVABLE!!!. the cleaning was O.K. But two weeks later the filling felt off and i can hearly eat on the crown side because is sensitive, i was already in Philly when this happened so i called for help and they were going to call me back with a solution that NEVER came. Really bad job and an AWFUL office, 0 respect for pacients. i paid over $1600 for a bad crown and a filling that came off 2 weeks later. dont ever go to Bakersfield Dental Group you are going to have a bad moment. you are going to end up paying for bad crowns and fillings that fall off. the doctor was Richard Leung. The only thing they have contact me is for BILS AND BILLS that of course im not going to pay until they fix my problem. more

I really can't stress enough how much you should avoid this practice. Without going into specifics, it is a scam. Every patient in the office, including me, were upset at how many extra chargers appear on their bill. They try to sell you unnecessary services. They told me I needed a root canal for $700. A different dentist found that I needed no root canal at all. Stay away from this place unless you want to spend thousands on a tooth that doesn't need it. more

I have had one appointment at this dental group and it was terrible. I went in for my first exam and cleaning. Although the wait was about 2 hours to be seen by the dentist, the exam was fairly routine, and the dentist seemed nice enough although she tried to sell about $600 worth of essentially unnecessary services. When it comes to the cleaning, though, there is a bit of a problem--whereas other offices combine exam and cleaning appointments, this office has you make two separate appointments--one for a dentist, one for a hygienist. Can't be on the same day. So that doubles the amount of time you would have to take off from work. In my case, the wait was awfully long (3 hours total visit including xrays) and so coming back and going through the whole process again for a cleaning is hardly a tempting idea. When I asked the office staff about why their policy is the case, they were very defensive with the attitude of "if you don't like it you can go someplace else." Thank y more

My family and I have been going to Bakersfield Dental Group for the last few years and it's undoubtedly the best dental office in town! My wife had beautiful veneers done there and everyone is so amazed by how great her smile looks. She has raved about her dentist to all our friends. I've had a crown done there also and it's the best fitting and most natural looking crown I've ever had done. It was worth every cent. It's hard to find a dentist you can trust and be comfortable with and we're glad to have found this office. Staff is also very friendly and the office is beautiful. more

Do NOT go to this dental practice. You have to schedule appointments months in advance if something comes up in between regular appointments. When you make an appointment to have your teeth cleaned you have to also make a separate appointment to have the dentist examine your teeth -- who does that!?! I've seen a lot of dentists in my time and have NEVER come across that-- I also made sure to have my husband request to have both his exam with the dentist and his cleaning scheduled for the same time after the mixup with my appointment and they still screwed it up! They said it was a mistake, but it ended up wasting almost two half days of work / sick leave my husband had to take off from work. I myself was waiting in the office for my appointment for over an hour before the dentist finally saw me (they did get my xrays done fast though). Once I finally had my exam with the dentist I was kept waiting another hour and 45 minutes before the hygenist finally got around to starting to more

I have been in here once and I would definatly go back. The experience was a good one, the staff was very caring and did their job well. They always make sure the patients are comforatable. The office is very nice and a welcoming environment. more
