In 49 years of having cars worked on around the country, I've never found anyone I trust more. I've been taking my Volvo there for about 7 years. I used to get an estimate from a Volvo dealer, but don't bother anymore -- Baird was always 30% to 50% cheaper. I'm surprised there are any negative comments. Bruce M. more

Overpriced, below average mechanics, poor customer service 10/20/2008

Baird charged me more than other local repair shops to do basic repairs and safety checks. Moreover, they missed a leaky water pump which, thankfully was detected soon after when I later took my car elsewhere. Overall, I found their approach to be quite sloppy. In addition, their customer service approach was to act as if they're doing the customer a favor by working on your car! more

Great Service 9/8/2008

I live in Florida, but found a car I was interested in purchasing in Arlington, VA. Looked at the various reviews of shops in Arlington in Judysbook.com and selected Baird Automotive to perform a pre-purchase inspection. Even though the owner (Joey) has his own list of items he goes through, I sent him my own list of all the things I wanted him to look at. For $90, Joey performed an outstanding inspection, and then spent about 20 minutes going through every issue he found. Highly recommended. more

Impeccable Service 6/5/2007

I've been going to Joey for 3 years and he never tries to oversell or overcharge. When you ask him whether an optional service is necessary, he gives you honest advice, which more times than not is that it really isn't necessary. It's also great that he's walking distance to Clarendon Metro. more

Trustworthy, Professional, Inexpensive 11/28/2006

I've never had better service at a better price. Joey does great work and never tries to over sell me on services. He'll tell me when I don't need something and when I can expect to need it. I am always amazed out how low his prices are. The first time I went there I thought there had been a mistake, it was so inexpensive. He runs a FIVE Star business in my book. more

Good but slightly overpriced 1/16/2006

Baird Automotive in Arlington seems to be one of the more respected service centers in the area. I went there recently for a quote when I needed some work done on my vehicle. They were able to check my car quickly. The price wasn’t as low as I liked but they got the job down quickly and correctly. more

Very Expensive but Good 8/6/2005

A lot of people recommend Joey Baird. He's been in Arlington forever, it seems. He owns and manages this auto repair center, with several people working for him. He's pretty good. I just got frustrated with how expensive he is. Apparently, the more honest mechanics do charge the FULL amount they can possibly charge you--but at least they do a thorough job. You get what you pay for, I suppose, when it comes to mechanics! more
