If you are in downtown Nashville and looking for a fun/laidback place to go, DO NOT go to Bailey’s Pub and Grill. I have been to this particular place a handful of times. I have enjoyed their food in the past. I have had a problem with their service in one instance but the manager at the time did come and correct the situation. I worked in the restaurant business in the past so I do feel I can accurately critique an establishment’s service to some extent. \r \r Unfortunately, last night was the last time we will ever go to a Bailey’s establishment. There was a group of 3 of my friends and myself that wanted to get a meal and drink after the Predator’s game (we purposely left the game early to go get a table before it got too busy). My friends were from out of town and I wanted to take them to a place that I had once liked.\r The security guards outside were very nice and welcoming when we walked in. When we entered the seating area we were unsure if we should seat ourselves. There were multiple employees that walked by us without asking if we needed assistance. Finally, I asked a passing waitress about the seating she gave me a lot of “attitude” and said to sit wherever. (I understand that serving can be stressful but the extent to her callousness was extreme). A second later I saw the manager and I mentioned that I was not too impressed by the greeting of the waitresses. He then kind of apologized but did nothing to try to keep us there; so we then left. The security guard asked why we were leaving and we explained what had happened, he told us to go to the upper level where there would be more seats (so we decided to give it another try). A waitress brought us menus and said she would check back in a few minutes to check on us. We were talking to the table next to us and enjoying ourselves. A few minutes later, the manger came up to our table and asked if we had been drinking, when we told him we had a couple drinks at the game; he then told us that he would not serve two of the four people at our table. In our defense, there were no altercations or incidences that would have supported his decision. There was no reason for him to come to our table and question our sobriety. So we got up and left. I spoke to the security guards as we left and he was very surprised because none of us seemed overly intoxicated. \r \r In short, we were all responsible adults that wanted to have a late night dinner and a couple drinks while downtown. Bailey’s Pub and Grill was extremely disappointing in every aspect except for their security guards whom were extremely welcoming. \r \r I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a good time while in downtown Nashville. \r more

Was in town for a convention, went here to eat. The food was good, the atmosphere was good. All was good until our waiter Daniel B gave me the bill ,we were in a hurry I gave him my credit card he ran the card I signed it. Then I notice the bill had all these other charges on it. I told him and he said oh he made a mistake and put someone else stuff on my bill. Then he reruns a new bill about $45 less I paid that one. When I ask about what happened to the other bill I paid he assured me that only this bill will go thru. Well, we all know what happened next he ran the 1st higher bill and not the second lower bill. Im back in St louis now. I disputed it with the credit card company and Baileys sent in my sign receipt so they closed the case for now. I can write a letter and reopen the case but I just decided to tell my story here. So if you are from out of town don't go here or don't get Daniel B as your waiter other wise you will be over paying and getting ripped off. Oh and I did contact the manager there and he could care less. I think this is a common practice at Baileys. more

Good Food, Sports and Great music! 1/11/2012

I just moved to Nashville and as soon as I went into Bailey's I instantly liked it. It's a fun place, the food was delicious and the people were very nice. While I was there they had live music, which was great! If you like watching sports, drinking beer, and country music then this is your place! more

Good Food, Good time 2/12/2011

I visited Bailey's on Broadway prior to a Monday night Predator's game. The food was good and served quickly. Good atmosphere. We got a pizza which was awesome! Good selection of beer, also. more

Awesome food and a great time. 1/26/2011

I have visited this establishment many times and my friends and i always had a blast. The servers are usually pretty cool and fun to be around. Grant it we would always go there first before hitting the rest of the strip but I have never had a problem there. And the chicken fingers and fries rock!!!!!!!! more

BEST BAR IN NASHVILLE 7/28/2009

GREATEST IRISH BAR IN NASHVILLE! MUCH BETTER ATMOSPHERE THAN DAN MCGUINNES! EXCELLENT WAIT STAFF! Pros: attractive women and men, great beer selection Cons: none!! more

The food and the service were great. They also have 3 pool tables, and plenty of tv's. 1/24/2008

We were looking for a place to watch the AFC Championship game 2008. Our first choice was Sam's Sports Bar, but it was jam packed and we couldn't get a table. So we left and went to Baily's Sports Bar on Broadway. Baily's is nicer and bigger inside than Sam's Sports Bar (Sam's is the place if you're under 25) and while it was still pack they still had a few empty tables. The food and the service were great. They also have 3 pool tables, and plenty of tv's. more

Best bartender I have ever seen. 10/29/2007

My wife and I went to Nashville on vacation and went to Bailey's for a drink at 5:00PM. The place was packed and the bartender named Gwen handled both a packed bar and all the waitresses by herself. She was a show in itself climbing to top shelves to reach a bottle of vodka filling draft beer glasses 3 and four at a time and making mixed drinks. She was quick and courteous and was not at all overwhelmed serving a couple hundred customers herself. Well worth going to watch her. Pros: Bartender Cons: Smoke more

Great food and atmosphere! 8/18/2007

I have lived in downtown Nashville for about 1 1/2 yrs. and Baileys has been my favorite bar/restaurant to visit. It's great for locals and tourists. The food is awesome and much better than what you would typically consider ""bar food"". They serve a variety from burgers to Mahi Mahi and more dinner type choices. The salads are excellent! It's clean and the staff is friendly. It's a relaxing atmosphere to just stop in to have a drink at the bar or socialize. It's a great location to catch a game on big screens. For some of the die-hard sports fans the bathrooms even keep you up with scores and play by play details!!! There are several regulars including myself. It's definately my Nashville ""Cheers"" where the bartenders know what you drink when you sit down if you're a frequent visitor and there are always familiar faces. I can't imagine anyone giving them a bad review. Try it for yourself! You'll love it. Pros: Great for sports fans, variety of food choices, regular bartenders (not always new faces) more

Terribly rude servers 5/6/2007

With so many other choices on Broadway, I will never go back to Bailey's again. Our server took our order and then disappeared for 30 minutes. I went to the bartender to ask about the food. He looked up the order on the computer and rudely told me that the order had only been placed 15 minutes earlier and that I should not even be expecting it yet. Apparently, the first 15 minutes were all my imagination. \r \r Anyway, during this 1/2 hour period, we had to flag down another server to refill our soft drinks. She actually raised her voice to us and said that they were shorthanded and that we would just have to wait. I felt as though I was on candid camera. Being shorthanded is understandable, but what a lousy attitude about it! Once our food FINALLY arrived, we had to get up again to get our own silverware. Our server never offered any apology or explanation for any of this, which leads me to believe that this is the norm for them. I will NOT be back. Pros: The food was okay, I suppose, but nothing to brag about. Cons: The rudest wait staff I have ever encountered. more

Give us another dive bar... 3/22/2007

Someone should really just take this place out and put in another divey honkytonk. At least there'd be no illusions. This used to be a place I loved to go for soup and a salad on rainy days, but I swear I'll never go again. Staff here is either decent or a BIG miss- if you could get any dirtier looks from one bartender it might be almost kitschy, but in my opinion he just has no business in food service. The food here is inconsitant- sometimes the token Newcastle Cheese Soup is thick and creamy, other times you can stand a spoon straight up in a lumpy mess.\r \r Now I'm not obsessive compulsive or anything, but none of the servers here wash their hands. There isn't even a sink visible, however a giant tub of 'antibacterial hand gel' is sitting right on the bar- next to where they're mixing drinks!?!?! I only noticed this the last time I went (and I mean the LAST time)- because it seemed everyone in the place was coughing and sneezing. I was utterly grossed out.\r \r Finally, the cheeseball top 40 music is BLASTING throughout the place, and forget about asking anyone to change the channel- even if it is the same game on all 5 tv screens. Pool here is hourly, and will run up a tab at the end of the night you might have to morgage your house to pay. I'd go anywhere on Lower Broadway but here... Cons: Service, Food, Atmosphere more

Not Recommended at all 3/11/2007

just read the the comments of collegeangel below and you will see that other had the exact same experience as I did...\r \r I am a person that doesn't really let the service destroy my night, but Baileys service was sub par!\r \r If you have ever been to a bar with bad service, food, and management Im sure that Baileys will rank in the bars that you will never visit again.\r \r Pros: None I would not recommend anyone to ever come here! Cons: Service is poor, management could car less, and if you are trying to meet anyone this is definitely not the place to go. There are plenty of other bars on Broadway that are much better! more

Rude/No Service and Crappy Atmosphere 1/2/2007

If you want to have a good time in Nashville, do yourself a favor and visit any bar other than Bailey's. We were down for the Music City Bowl and the waiter was completely rude and did not want to serve us and actually told us we could not sit in his section when we placed our first drink order at the bar. He then refused to get the manager when we asked for him. Once the manager was found, he offered free appetizers and a free first round of beers for the following day. We didn't come to Nashville to find freebies - we came to enjoy an evening out, the night before a bowl game. We were able to do this across the street at Rippey's!!! more

good service & good food! 8/6/2006

When I go downtown I always go to Bailey's and have a good time. The review before this said that she would not recommended Bailey's I feel sorry that she feels she had bad service but get a clue. People are not perfect you should know that b/c your friends problem. Anyways I would highly recommended this place as a fun SPORTS BAR!! Pros: sports shows Cons: ? more
