Bacaro is a small narrow restaurant assumed by most in town to be just a snobby wine bar. But Bacaro is a fine restaurant as well, and I'd recommend everyone visiting it more often but then I would never get a table. This restaurant serves small dishes of Italian-inspired new American cuisine and tries to use as many local ingredients as possible. The plates are definitely smaller than you will find in the average chain restaurant, but the taste combinations are far superior and you will be glad to have the extra room to try multiple courses. After all, when was the last time you actually had room for dessert? If you are on a budget but still want to give the place a shot, I would recommend going on a Sunday night. Sunday nights feature half-price glasses of wine, and I enjoy getting a group together to try that spectacular expensive wine, and dessert of course. The waitstaff is knowledge and easily answer the many questions I always have for them, without making me feel like an idiot. A tasting menu is available, although I've never tried it. Many people are turned off by the prices and small portions, but the food is excellent and you really should give it a shot at least once.
