Brunch at B.E.D 5/3/2010

My boyfriend and i went there for Sunday brunch. Made reservations for 11:00am, which was not neccessary since it completely empty. Got there about 10 minutes before the reservation and they were not yet open. Once inside the area is small but nice and well done with the beds. The food took rather long considering that we were the only ones there but it was good. I recommend the chicken and waffles. got the bill and the orange juice cost more than m meal, uh? $10 for a small glass half filled with ice oj. That's south beach for you. Pros: Good Food Cons: Empty more

More honorable to light $300 on fire, than to hand it over to these incompetent posers. 11/1/2008

Alright boys and girls - he's how to create your own B.E.D. adventure at home, and probably retain your pride in doing so. Pros: This restaurant is good kindle. What a great place to tear down and start over. Cons: Too many...not patient enough to write them here. more

Great Local Spot on the Beach - New Owners and Scene 4/20/2008

I went to BED this past Saturday after reading numerous articles on the new owners and there concepts. WOW, the new ownership (local guys from Miami Beach I think) really have made some great changes. Pros: Local Scene, New Owners & Menu, Fun Scene more

A Great Night 4/8/2008

Went there for dinner to check it out. My group was a bit older (40ish)....Had a great meal...tapas...very well prepared and presented by really nice looking girls that were actually friendly and really good at what they do. Decided to stay and watch the evening build and build and build. We danced and drank the night away. Best night in South Beach. Pros: Food and Music more

Shady 3/15/2008

Went to B.E.D. during spring break. First off there is a $20 cover charge to get in. Then the drinks are mad expensive. All the guys inside were really shady (not that there were too many because they don't let them in). Not to mention a couple getting it on in the back, they were kicked out but it was nasty. The dancing was okay but wasn't worth the crazy cover. Pros: plenty of places to sit or lay down Cons: cover charge of 20 bucks, shady guys more

WORSE BAR IN SOUTH BEACH 5/31/2007

B.E.D. was so ridiculous that i have made a point to come back from my vacation in south beach and write my first review on citysearch. i don't understand what all the hype is about. the drinks are too expensive, the bouncers are snobby and rude, the d.j. sucked, and the place in general was not hoppin. to top it off, they have false advertisement. LADIES LISTEN UP. their whole ""ladies get free dinner after 10pm on monday nights"" is NOT TRUE. as advertised, we called ahead to put our names on the guest list and got there 30 minutes early (i guess they need this false advertisement to just get people to come out). the bouncer showed up 30 minutes late...so we were waiting an hour. then, he starts letting in only his friends, 5'10"" blondes, and groups that were willing to pay $250 for a bottle - $250 for a bottle like absolute! he also totally ignored everyone asking about the reservations and ladies night. when we finally got in, the place was TINY with a typical bar scene from any bar you could go to, except half the people there had sticks up their @sses. we had a great time the rest of our stay in south beach at mansion, cameo, and prive where we were treated like real people. we even got to party V.I.P. style with some NFL players in town for memorial day weekend. so, if you're a 5'10"" model, have $250 to throw away on a crappy bottle, and just want to sit on your bum in an oversized bed all night, go to B.E.D. but if you're a gal wanting to have fun, dance, and meet new people, i suggest avoiding this place at all costs. Cons: EVERYTHING more

TRUST SLEEPY'S F**K BED!!!!! 5/22/2007

I'm a reservations manager for one of the trendiest restaurants in NYC and never before I have I been subjected to such disgusting customer service! I tried to patronize this ""HOT"" spot while vacationing in Sth Beach. Got dressed to the nines...popped all the gold and platimum cards in the wallet...jumped in the convertible and headed over to MATTRESS for a night of fun only to be met by MANNY AND HIS 2 lill ball sucking kunty dwarfs. He works on Washington because you would never cut it on 14th Street...he wouldn't even be able to cut it on 27th Street where NY CLUBS go to DIE...maybe he can run the door at Bungalow 8 when Amy Sacco leaves it to the bums! This is exactly why you guys are being RUN OUT of NY...you've forgotten the 1st rule in this business...BEING HOSPITABLE...is Hospitality! Don't worry I burned rubber and went back to the Delano ordered a bottle of Krug and drank until my heart was content...guess my money is only good in Sth Fla from May 25th - May 28th! Pros: Nothing Cons: Go to Mynt or Prive instead more

THIS PLACE STINKS!! 3/28/2007

i went here for dinner and this place is horrible. it's difficult to get a reservation and then when you get there, everyone from the bouncer to the host to the waitress is rude and snobby. you also have to share your bed with strangers unless you're a big group and you're forced to order an entree a person with an 18% mandatory tip for bad service. we ordered tap water and our waitress brought some special bottle of water and said it was tap water so we could serve ourselves. then when the bill came we were charged $8 for the water! we tried to complain but the waitress said that we already drank the water and there was nothing that could be done about it. the manager didn't care either. the employees there act like they are the greatest thing in the world when they work in the service industry but provide horrible service. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Pros: NONE! Cons: EVERYTHING! more

Terrible door and club policy 12/23/2006

It was a Monday night, still early around 11:00 PM, just wanted to find a good place to hang out with a group of 5 (3 guys, 2 girls). Door was ridiculous. Had a terrible attitude. Asked for a table, took a credit card and ID, then made us wait for about 10 minutes. Finally let us in and it was DEAD. Waitress said we had to order 2 bottles. Since no one was there, we insisted on 1 bottle for now and we'd think about a second. She said she would be right back. Came back with door man, and he yelled at us to leave immediately. We abided and went to Tantra. Spent $1,100. Go to Tantra. Sure they make you buy two bottles, but at least it is packed with an awesome crowd. Pros: Midget bouncers Cons: They're tools more

Ok, is expensive but read on... 7/17/2005

After reading the previous ratings, I thought I was crazy to try this place. However, the food was superb (had the duck), and the concept of eating on a bed was simply great. The service was fast and were seated promptly (maybe the manager read past reviews?? lol). Anyway, our waitress was nice and unpretentious (they ere even wearing, GASP! sneakers, jeans and tank tops! Not the usual bimbo attire you see only in Miami). We stayed in bed and it was great being able to take off my heels from hell and lay down, sipping my drink, while watching people dance. We danced on the bed as well. There are two seatings, one at 8:30 pm, which is the perfect one if you go on a date, and the 10:30 pm if you want to stay clubbing there. Prices per entree range from $32-$38. Pros: Yummy Food, Relaxing Atmosphere, Different Concept Cons: Parking, A little Pricey more

nice to be served on bed 7/6/2005

This place is a great hang out and the shrimp tempura in a mango sauce was great! The menu itself doesn't have a big variety but its pretty neat to get served and eat on a bed..... Pros: food Cons: menu, hard to find parking more

The things that they don't tell you when 6/20/2004

I made a reservation at 9:30 for BED and when I showed they changed my time at 8:30 and they told me either take the 8:30 or 10:30 or go somewhere else. Rude hostess that was probably going through menopause while there. Bartenders are more preoccupied at taking with themselves instead of making drinks for customers. There is nothing more uncomfortable than to eat on a bed. Everyone around the restaurant had a hard time finding a comfortable position to eat in. Also, ladies watch out for your clothes as spills might turn ugly while eating. Also, if you are a couple and want a romantic dinner together, forget it cause they'll place other couples in your bed!!! This place should be a lounge instead of a restaurant!!! That the only good thing that can come from it. Pros: Nice Decor, Only as a lounge. Cons: , Rude, Pretencious more

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE 4/9/2004

Very expensive AND they require that you purchase one expensive entree per person and they impose an 18% tip on you for bad service and snobby attitude. Extremely poor service. I've never seen this kind of attitude at a service establishment. SAVE YOURSELF THE STRESS AND DON'T GO THERE!!! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! Read the other reviews about how bad they are. They have consistent bad service. The bed theme is PASSE. Pros: Unethical, Bad Attitude, Sleazy Cons: , Very Very Expensive, They're snobs more

B.E.D. Sore 6/26/2003

If you're going to B.E.D. with someone make sure they're good. I did and that's probably why I didn't notice the prices, the disinterest of the staff and long wait to be served (1.5hrs?? c'mon). The place is nice though. Good food and music in a chilled out environment. Definitely something different. Almost sensual. Altogether it was okay. Would I go back? Nah.. Once in that B.E.D was enough for me. Didn't get the thrill I was seeking. Yaaaaawwn... Pros: Good Music, Good Food, Nice ambiance Cons: Long serve time, Expensive, Indifferent staff more

Never Again 4/30/2003

They don't appreciate their customers, and really, anyplace that employs people that treat you as if though they're doing you a favor by LETTING you spend money at their establishment doesn't deserve my or my friends' business. I'm never going back, and if you haven't gone, believe me, you're not missing much. Cons: rude service, useless to RSVP, low value more

B.E.D has gone B.A.D. 4/30/2003

Apparently certain companies don't thoroughly review which promotional companies they hire to represent their niteclubs. Honestly, I used to have a great time at BED but now you basically have to show how thick your wallet is up front in order to get passed the ridiculously tightly dressed not to mention badly mannered bouncers at this once prestigious niteclub. I honestly think they need to review the way the staff they hire treats their customers or before they know it they'll be having to replace those big expensive white beds with old used beds from Goodwill. Pros: decent venue Cons: horrific service, badly mannered staff, poorly organized more

This BED is lumpy 3/5/2003

Went to bed on Monday night after all the locals raved about it. Spent 20 bucks a person to get in and expected a good time. What we found was bad music and you can't sit on the beds unless you are going with bottle service. Anyone who has gone out in NYC to a good lounge will not enjoy this place. The bouncers thought they were God's gift and the clubgoers inside were even worse. Picture the worst dressed people who think they are hot...and you have BED. Needless to say, we walked out after only 30 minutes. I would recommend going to one of the bigger clubs where at least you can move around and dance to good music. Should have gone to Crobar instead. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Bad crowd, Bad music, Expensive more

Great Concept, Cool Scene 9/20/2002

Awesome place, they definitely need this kind of a place in NYC. The beds are SO comfortable and the place is great for people watching. I don't know if I would recommend eating dinner here, but we had an amazing time getting drinks later on in the night. Bottle service is pricey, but worth it just to check this place out. Pros: Great Concept, Beautiful People, Meet People Cons: Pricey more

B.E.D = C.R.A.P 7/26/2002

Totally overated! #1 Value meal(supersized) at Mickey D's would've be a much better dinner. Staff very snobbish, and had no reason to be since BED isnt the 'ish anymore, and hasnt been for like 4 years now. And by the way bring you own white sheets to lay on, cause ours were dirty. Pros: none, none, none Cons: too many to type more

Interesting Concept 7/3/2002

I didn't have dinner there. I had a few drinks with friends at the bar. I was there on a weekngiht and it wasn't crowded. The crowd tries really hard to be trendy sitting/lying on the bed...but that's South Beach. The drinks were expensive. Nonetheless I enjoyed the drinks and the ambience. more
