Always delicious!


As a native New Orleanian who has not lived there for years, I jumped at a chance to visit the new restaurant claiming Crescent City heritage. Boy was I in for a disappointment. \...

The food was pretty good. I've eaten there before and always been happy with my dining experience. As for the delivery, it came quicker than predicted, which is always nice. My only complaint was that there weren't any utensils or napkins. Thankfully, there were some at my office or I would have been out of luck. more

We tried their normal prix fixe menu during lunch. The place wasn't packed and we were seated promptly. \r \r For my starter, I went with the house salad. It had a very tasty and light dressing. My friends chose the seafood gumbo, which they totally loved. \r \r My entree, I chose the classic Jambalaya (without the shrimp). At first taste, it was good but after awhile, the saltiness of the dish was too strong. My friends went with the 8oz steak and was cooked to their liking. \r \r For dessert, I chose the beignets. It was a huge order for one persion. Six beignets with 3 kinds (caramel, honey and chocolate) of dipping sauces. A friend had the pecan pie, I found it to sweet. This meal was worth the $24.95 prix fixe. more

There was no cajun or creole food to be found in this NOLA wanna-be BAR. I ordered crawfish etuffe, I received a Brown gumbo like substance. They didn't have any real seafood options and I can say for certain that the crawfish tails in the ""gumbo"" were not from the gulf or anywhere near it. My boyfriend, who is currently sick from the food, had shrimp creole which was overcooked shrimp with a little cocktail sauce. The only redeeming factor: I was a tad bit drunk from a moderately decent hurricane before I didn't really eat my dinner. Don't think for a second that this is authentic NOLA cuisine. I would advise that you spend your money elsewhere. Perhaps a trip to visit the bar, and only the bar would be safe. Otherwise not worth it at all and you may end up sick. Lions, Tigers and Alligators? Oh My. 1/29/2010

Have you been to New Orleans? No? Well this is the next best thing to the Big Easy in the heart of Manhattan - Hell's Kitchen. Located in the middle of Restaurant Row, this New Orleans-themed restaurant is a mix between classy after work hangout and elegant dining. Bourbon has 2 floors with an outdoor patio and a balcony overlooking 46th Street. The middle tables near the bar are great for groups and the balcony upstairs is perfect for dinner for two. I love their appetizer selection which includes yummy alligator sausage and the usual finger foods. Their dinner selection is fairly unique offering cajun dishes. The decor of the place is probably the best I've seen, you really think you're in New Orleans (although I've never been, I've seen pictures). With alligators hanging on the wall downstairs near the bathroom and a nicely decorated behind the bar wall, this place will make you feel at home. Great place to eat and drink 7/31/2009

My boyfriend loves cajun food and I decided to surprise him by taking him here for his B-Day. The place is awesome. The decor makes you feel like your on the true Bourban St in New Orleans. The food is great, and the drinks were cheap for New York. The best part was their chocolate souffle :) The only minor thing was they are a bit pricy but nothing to outrageous, considering its in New York and on resteraunt row. A wild party 2/26/2009

I wasn't sure about this place when it opened on my block but a few visits seemed pretty solid, then last Tuesday I saw balloons and a line outside ????. A girlfriend reminded me it was Fat Tuesday so we decided to check it out. All I can say is what a party. Girls on the bar and Jazz on the balcony with beads everywhere. Can we all say Mardi Gras... Best hurricane & music! 2/21/2009

I come to this place at once a week for a drinks since it opened and I always had good time here. They are having a party here for MARDI GRAS and its going to so good. I cannot wait for it. Bourbon Street are having two celebrations one on Feb. 21st, Saturday, and the other on FAT TUESDAY feb.24th. The Jazz is great here.\r \r The last party that I was there for ws there grand opening in September and that ws great. Plus, they donate the proceeds to New Orleans victims. \r \r Hope to See you there more

Mardi Gras in Hell's Kitchen 1/3/2009

Sadly my company transfered me for a time to our office in Atlanta but I was back home in Hells Kitchen for our holiday party at Bourbon Street. I see here some early reviews of this new space on Restaurant Row but believe me, this place is the proverbial bomb !. My company had booked the second floor balcony area with private bar, bathroom and outdoor balcony to smoke and watch the street. From the hostesses at the front door to the greeting waitresses with champagne and wine in the lounge (we had a cocktail hour in the rear lounge for an hour before the main event) we were treated like royalty !. The food started with an amazing cocktail hour of horsdorves (I ate alligator for the first time ever) the mains buffet style on the balcony were out of this world, American fare with a solid Creole and Cajun flair we gorged in Shrimp Creole, Blackened Catfish, Cajun Steak and so much more. Dessert and coffee were perfectly timed and the staff were like friendly ninja waiters that moved and served unseen. \r \r At about 9pm a DJ fired up and with Videos on every screen got the crowd going, My tight fisted boss added an extra bar hour afterwards for us to hang out, drink hurricanes and revel in the vibe looking at the packed bar below. \r \r The owner of my company who was trying to be cheap in a tough economy chose this place and saved about 50% on last years bash, which was all fufu and fur coats (ironically and by his admission, this was voted the best company party in the companies 17 year New York history)\r \r I know this neighborhood like the back of my hand and this place is the best new bar restaurant I have seen. If I seem to be going on, it's 'cause it's for real.. Food, service. decor (10+) and athmosphere all amazing. \r \r I know this was a pre planned event but if they deliver consistantly, this place will fly. The company owner (with a few hurricanes inside) recommended getting out of the stock market and investing in Bourbon Street !. Pros: Balcony, DJ, Good Vibe, Good Food, Hurricanes ! New Hotspot in NYC 12/23/2008

This place was great! I was out wit some friends on a tuesday night and had the best time. we sat at the bar and were greeted warmly by two bartender, Adam and Brian, who were super attentive and fun. The food was delicious and the atomosphere was relaxed and fun. With the great service, drinks and food, Me and my friends cant wait to go back for more. Highly recommend this spot. Good Food. Ok, it's not Bourbon Street really. They do have iron railings, and some gas lights, but the atmosphere is as Bourbon Street as Times Square. A buncha Preservation Hallists, playing dixieland on clarinet... er... afraid now. How 'bout AC/DC?? BeeGees? At ear-splitting volume? See what I'm talking about? Our waiter was from New Zealand.\r On the other hand, the crew, Maitress d', waiter, waitress, entire staff was cool, friendly, and as accommodating as a (insert your own simile here.) The found us a table in a quieter place, served us, took our pictures, were all-round great to us. Great bar. 7/29/2008

I met a friend there last Friday, we met at the bar with intention of getting a table for dinner, he was there before me and had two hurricanes waiting. Seems the're a signature item and ony $5 at happy hour. There was a good athmosphere at the bar, cool staff so we decided to hang at the bar for dinner. We split a catfish appetizer between us an then a creole steak and for me a creole shrimp with rice. The five stars here is for the food, its for the staff and its for the whole deal. I love this place already. The food was AMAZING. The bar is the best bar I've ever seen. Great staff and as we were getting ready to leave a DJ started spinning and squeezed another hour or so out of our night. Wish I could have stayed longer, it was only getting started by 10pm.\r \r more

We only recently came accross this street having moved to NY last year, lots of varied restaurants and bars. I visited Bourbon Street after a show,(coupon in playbill caught my attentnion). The food was good , nice steaks and fish and there was a very nice athmosphere in the main area. We had requested a table upstairs on the balcony but there was a long wait. maybe next time. NY's Best Kept Secret - Taste of French Quarter 5/24/2008

Wow, as soon as you step into this place you feel transported to N'awlins!!! The ambience is awesome, even from the street when you spot those gas laterns burning you get the sense of what you are in for.\r I saw the news posted on this site & had to try this place. My girlfried & I ate their today (5/24/08) and we were not let done. The food was AUTHENTIC, we asked & our waitress told us the Chef was from New Orleans & you taste it. I have been to New Orleans a few times so I was able to compare. I also love cooking this food based on recipe books so I have a good idea. We had the crab cake (tasted fresh from the sea) and gator for appetizers, seafood gumbo (there was a bunch of whole juicy oysters in there as well as shrimp) pretty much every spoonful you got some seafood so they were not cheap, ceaser salad, then for entries fried catfish (tender & melted in your mouth, not sure how he did it) and fried oysters (ok we went crazy on fried stuff I know but it was sooooo good & their menu goes well beyond stuff like that, nice creole choice on the menu too), then for desert beignets of course. We met the GM of the place & he comp'd us 2 free drinks which was awesome (had a great mint julip). The wait staff was friendly, prompt & attentive. We left stuft & can't wait to go back. I will be spreading the word to family & friends, we need this place to stick around for a long time (it is on like restaurant row on 46th so I am sure it is pretty competitive). nice find 5/19/2008

i saw an add for this new place in the village voice and as i'm from new orleans i couldnt resist. went friday night with a few friens from work and it is really very cool. old lamps and balconys made me feel like im at home. we hadonly appetizers which were great but i will be back for dinner the dining room is ont eh balcony upstairs and look amazing. the food we had was good. alligator in buffalo sauce and some great gumbo also had some abita beer from home too. i lkie it already. more

Great food, tons of character 5/18/2008

It's sometimes a fine line between doing a ""theme"" well and creating a plastic Disney experience. Bourbon Street really does it exactly right. Starting with the facade, and continuing with the New Orleans like atmosphere inside and the excellent food, you feel like you've been transported to the French Quarter. New York needed a place like this... Fun, authentic, good for a big group, or a date if you want to show a little personality and go somewhere exciting. I've been back a couple of times already (I work nearby), and I definitely recommend it... \r more
