Horrible customer service, way too pricey 5/7/2006

I went to Lullaby Lane and decided to buy a stroller from them. I was so excited because I hadn't allowed myself to buy the "expensive" stuff before, and outfitted my kids from Target, Toys R Us and online stores. I bought a Combi stroller. I took it home. I put it together, I took it to the mall. I got out of my car, put my son in it and, the wheels refused to turn. It didn't work. I took it back to them and all they had to say was "Well, those strollers usually do that, but after a lot of use". And they wouldn't take it back! That was their answer, that they routinely sold this crappy stroller and that it "usually" locked it's wheels. I didn't even have it for 5 minutes! Also, it is totally unnecessary for them to have "5 or 6 styles of car seats" when we all know that anyone who is going to go to a baby boutique is going to buy the Britax, the $250+ car seat. Use this place for reference, if you must, and then buy it cheaper online. Or try CitiKids in San Francisco. That place was much better. more

Perfect Place to start your baby shopping 12/7/2005

Lullaby Lane has the best selection of everything for your baby. Their prices are about 25% higher than BabysRUs - but they make up for it by offering a much better selection and really training their sales team on the products. They don't just offer 5 or six styles of car seats, they offer a wide variety of styles and price ranges and their staff knows what the pluses and minuses for each one are. The same for high chairs and all the other hard to pick items. They also have to best selection of rocking chairs I've ever seen! The store gets pretty crowded on weekends, so if you would like assistance with picking the right furniture or accessories for your needs - try and go in on a weekday when they will be able to devote more time to you. Don't forget to check out the clearance center a few doors down. more

A nice alternative to Babies'R'Us 8/17/2005

They may not be the cheapest, but their selection makes it worth the extra money. They've got the basic baby gear that the superstores have--carseats, strollers, etc. plus great baby clothes, furniture and diaper bags that you won't find elsewhere. They're a great place to create a registry, too. more

expensive but a good selection 8/17/2005

This is one of the few places left in the Bay Area where you can go look at the higher quality.more expensiev baby gear in person. Babies R Us seems to be watering down their selection to the least sommon denominator and smoe other baby specialty stores fell victim to the economic downturn. However you won't find any deals here. You will pay full price for everything and although people tell me that there are 'sales' I have only ever seen this on items that are from last season. It's worth a good browse, but don't expect to fnd any bargains! more

Lullaby Lane- Great Baby Store - Lots of Information for new Parents 8/15/2005

If you want really cute baby clothes or really unique baby gifts go to Lullaby Lane in San Bruno - they have really neat stuff! Their prices are on the high side but you will find beautiful items that you will never see in Babies R Us or Target. They also have a very informative staff that can really help you with all of your baby needs. It is really crazy on the weekend but on the weekdays the store is quiet and you can have someone help you through the various areas and give you recommendations or even demonstrations on how the products work. They also have two stores that flank the baby store - they have a clearance store on the left that has cribs, mobiles, strollers, playpens, gliders and other baby furnishings at reduced prices. On the right side of the baby store is Lullaby Lane Kids which has furniture for toddlers and older children. The main baby store is comprised of four rooms - the first room carries strollers, prams, backpacks and carriers and basinettes, the second room has car seats, high chairs, bath equipment and clothes. Ah the clothes - they have beautiful dresses and christening gowns - I have purchased the christening gowns for all three of my children here - as they are beautiful and not super expensive like Nieman Marcus. The third room is filled with cribs and furniture and bedding - all of the cribs are set up and dressed in bedding so you can see all of the cribs and bed sets all in one place. The fourth room is filled with gliders and ottomans - they have one of the biggest selections of gliders I have ever seen. They also offer a baby equipment class where they demonstate all types of baby equipment and make recommendations about what is really necessary - this is very helpful for first time parents. Also at the end of class they raffel off a car seat, and some other nice baby items to the class. The Clearance store also has a rental department where you can rent baby equipment. You can also make an appointment with them to install your car seat into your car. This is a great store for all parents! more

Best selection by far, can be pricey 8/2/2005

This is the place to go to find all the latest baby gear. The staff is knowledgable and will walk you through your registry or help you to purchase something for a friend, but you will never feel a "hard sell." The selection is great, so your best bet is to shop here first and figure out exactly what you need, but ultimately comparison shop the things you find that can be found elsewhere and buy exclusives here. There is a clearance center where you can find usually find earlier model strollers and car seats at a discount, among other things. There is also a juvenile furniture store and some of the stuff is expensive, but I was able to find a beautiful wood bed for my son at a very reasonable $200. more

little tykes 6/28/2005

My cousin and I were invited to a baby shower, so naturally we set out to buy a couple of cute baby outfits for the newborn. A co-worker recommended Lullaby Lane because it has a generous selection of all sorts of baby products. We had fun browsing all the gadgets and play things, but reverted back to our original plan and bought the baby the cutest terry cloth jumper and mini rosebud dress. more

Excellent Customer Service 6/19/2005

For us, Lullaby Lane is inconvenient to get to, can be very crowded, and feels overpriced. That said, we still make the trek there because of a couple of important factors: * The staff really knows what they're talking about. It's by far the best place to buy a stroller, because they not only know about each model, but encourage you to try them all out (even in the parking lot), and even have a 10-pound teddy bear to push around while you're demo'ing them. * The customer service is excellent. We've had a few funny situations where they really came through with the service, going above and beyond what other stores might do. * Even though it feels like a boutique, the prices are pretty fair, and they have a couple of great warehouse sales each year. They may price match, too. more
