Best

I love their Bullbites!! Excellent place for a causal date, family dinner or a large group. Not expensive and the staff is very nice and helpful! Pros: Two Thumbs Up

Worst

Worst bartenders and serice 11/6/2011

It wont matter bcaeuse i'll not be back. The bartenders are rude and clickey, if you get my drift. more

Unhappy 3/19/2011

Crappy bar service. If you are not very patient and very quiet, the bartenders will not serve you at all. more

BullBites! 12/2/2008

I love their Bullbites!! Excellent place for a causal date, family dinner or a large group. Not expensive and the staff is very nice and helpful! Pros: Two Thumbs Up more

Awesome 8/12/2008

This is propbly one of the best resturants i have ever been to in my life....... the food is great even though it is a tad expencive! Pros: Awesome food, service, awesome food Cons: busy, a tad expensive more

Food quality is lousy, Not worth the money, Definitely not fine dining! 8/11/2007

Can you believe they let people SMOKE in they're so called family friendly restaurant. Cons: Food, Price more

Filet and Walleye Filet were disappointing, service was average 1/30/2007

My first experience with Axel's came at the Tavern in Loretto.and it was disappointing. The place had a saloon/dance hall sort of decor, loud and gaudy with a weird white tile floor but that would have been O K had the steak been great. Unfortunately it wasn't. I ordered the Land and Lake which was an 8 ounce filet cooked rare and a pan fried walleye filet. The filet was dry and mealy and didn't generate one drop of juice. The texture of this steak didn't lend itself to a rare presentation. Now I know that a filet is not the juiciest cut, but really. Maybe I should have tried the Porterhouse at $38, nah. more

Better than average food, but not by much 7/13/2006

Good enough place to eat and comfortable, but prices seem too high for the overall product. Pros: Nice place Cons: Price, service more

I can't wait to go back! 5/4/2005

We didn't have reservations, but still got great seats in a nice booth. I had pizza (delicious!) and the best martinis I've ever had! I rarely seem to get great service, but our waitress was great: not hovering too much or rushing us; timely with refills, etc. The decor was unique, but I liked that it was dim and somewhat romantic. Upscale without being too pretentious, and we didn't feel out of place even though we weren't dressed up. Some of the entrees seemed a little expensive (that's why I went with the pizza) but otherwise a great place! Pros: martinis!, good food, good service Cons: some prices more

You've gotta go 2/17/2005

First trip this February was great! Waitress was very friendly and knew the menu, checked on us, but not too often. The food was excellent! Bull bites are a must try and the walleye was the best I've had. My girlfriend got the quarter roasted chicken, she loved it and for $8 probably the best value on the menu. Pros: Menu Variety, Service, Food Cons: Small Beer list more

Not worth it 6/12/2004

The service was wretched, and even after asking, we never got refills on our drinks. The I ordered the same thing two different times and the second time it was hald the amount as the first...rude waitress and the ambience was not that great. more

Try the Bull Bites 5/20/2004

Although my girlfriend and I have had several full dinners here, we look forward to a drink and an order of Bull Bites on Friday nights. Simply put, they are awesome. Pros: Good to great food Cons: , no reservations taken more

Great Decison 7/8/2003

We enjoyed our time and meals when we were at Bonfire in April. The Buffalo Bites were awesome as well as the rest of the entrees. Our seven year old daughter enjoyed her Kids Prime Rib so much the it 'melted in her mouth'. She said that it was so good that it almost put her to sleep. The atmosphere was interesting and comfortable. It was a fine place without the stuffiness. We will be back when we are in the area. We're glad we chose the Bonfire for our dining expereince. Pros: No waiting, Easy access, Great food and fun more

Horrible Service 5/22/2003

The service I received at Bonfire on Mother's Day was absolutely horrible. The wait staff was rude. One came over and tried to explain that since we came she couldn't be cut early. It was ridiculous. The didn't bring us silverware, even when asked. The food was ok, but the service caused me to leave with a very bad taste in my mouth. I would avoid this restaurant at all costs. Pros: decent food Cons: service more

Over-rated! 1/2/2003

Yes, the drunken steak is great & the coconut shrimp were superb. But at these prices the side dishes should consist of fresh (not frozen) vegetables & tasty pilafs (not uncle ben's!) The fajitas with beef were delicious and a reasonable value. But most of the entrees are over-priced! Cons: crowded, over-priced, bland side dishes more

Excellent service! 12/31/2002

I have been to Bonfire serveral times and was impressed by our service there always. The food is excellent always. This particular time we went we had a server named Melanie, she went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything that we needed, including keeping us updated on how much longer our food was going to take since we were in a rush to get to a movie. Thanks for the great service we'll be back time and time again! Pros: Great Service Cons: Slow Bar more

Super 11/27/2002

I think that this restaurant is great. I am really happy that there is an in between from fast food and chains. I love the bull made out of sports gear and I really think that there should be more Bonfire's around the Twin Cities. Pros: Great Atmosphere more

So So Service 11/20/2002

We were seated immediately for lunch on a number of occasions, but the service in a party of 6 was extremly slow. The fries are cold, and waitress did not refill beverages when empty and food order took forever. The sandwiches are of good quality, an the Buffalo Bites are great. Only visit if you have the spare time for the slow service. Pros: Great Value for Food Cons: Slow Service more

Best new place in Eagan! 11/7/2002

Great atmosphere, food and service. I have been there quite a few times since they have opened and will continue to frequent this FIND! Great bar too. Pros: Great value, Attentive servers, Ambience, warm. cozy more

Get Much More Than You Expect!! 11/6/2002

Portions are HUGE ... quality excellent ... the Salmon entre is my favorite along with the Walleye Salad!! A bit on the noisy side Pros: Valu, Quality, Unique recipe Cons: Noise level more

Very Good 10/17/2002

I've enjoyed several entrees here. The quality is consistent and the pricing reasonable for the atmosphere and menu. It can be too loud for easy conversation. People watching at the bar. The smoke breathing horse (?) on the ceiling is fun for kids and adults, too. The drunk and dirty steak and the walleye are excellent. The loaded baked potato and salad are good, too. The changing veggies have always been great. Good for small groups and larger crowds. Expect to wait for seating. more
