We have know the owners of Awesome for many years, as returning guests. We had a reservation and was informed by carl they were moving to a new location. We could not believe it, but decide to keep the reservation at 136 Lawrence, as the new tenants in the space allowed us to. If you like creepy 20 something year old men walking around without shirts, and positive messages left on your door, it may be for you. But for us, the commune vibe, felt like being trapped in an airport with Hare Krishnas’, and no change to get rid of them. Hope you have travelers insurance, or a mantra that says “ this is not Awesome”, “This is not Awesome”.
As we are frequent visitors to the city we found out that In a few months it will be illegal to have a B&B at this location, as the so called new management rents and does not own the building. Google new law about renting rooms in NY. What ever new ownership means, ask for a copy of their B&B insurance, and business certificate
