All I can say is wow!!! I've never had such a negative experience renting from anyone in my life. If you like doing your own repairs and people who don't return your phonecalls then this is the company for you! My neighbors tried to warn us before hand but I thought it couldn't be that bad. The company has a few positive reviews on a couple sites, but I was very wrong. STAY AWAY!!!! more

Horrible customer Service 10/31/2011

These guys are robots. Very old school and slow. Do not try to make them make sense. ""That's just the way we do it"" ""Explain to me how that makes sense..."" ""Well, I can't. It's just the way we do it"". Submitted credit reports with our applications. We asked him to look at our reports before re running our credit and making us pay the fee. He said well the report could be altered or inaccurate. I told him we just pulled it last week and have it in it's original pdf form. He ran our credit anyways and suprise suprise it was exactly the same and he denied us. When I asked why he wouldn't just look at our credit report first he said well that's just he way we do it. Waste of my money and time. He said I could mail him requesting a reason....wtf. Who mails anything anymore. He would not let me email him the request. more

Good for pro-active tenants, customer service could improve 11/3/2009

AVR is a good property management if you're an experienced tenant and fine with a 'no-frills' place. Things I liked about AVR: - blunt and matter-of-fact about the owner is wililng to do and not do. - does things by the book. I've read the CA tenant handbook and AVR didn't shirk on anything. Things I didn't like: - AVR needs to work on their customer communication skills/level of friendliness with tenants. Tenant's expect a company that makes an effort at the niceties - 'thank you for calling', 'what can we do for you', 'have a good day', etc, some attempt at forming a relationship with the tenant and making them feel comfortable with you. You don't get this from AVR, which unfortunately really turns off some people. The exception is the young lady, who is always very friendly on the phone. Pros: On the level, does things by the book Cons: No emergency contact line, not 'newbie' friendly more

worst nightmare 9/15/2008

This company is full of rude people who seam to be intent on running off good tenants. I am at a loss to understand why they treat people this way. They stonewall when asked simple questions. Often don't even respond to problems with the property, or are slow(a month or more), and give exscuses with problems that should be fixed. They also raise the rent 20% or more a year. more

AVR's Great Services 8/4/2008

We have been very pleased with AVR's professionalism. They have been very forthcoming in resolving issues in a timely manner. They are polite and very organized and have shown us very nice properties, one of which we had selected several months ago. This has been a very positive and enjoyable experience for us. more

You Get What You Pay For 4/19/2008

While they have cheaper rental homes comparatively speaking in Livermore, you get what you pay for. Unprofessional behavior of Brokers, discriminatory practices, and overall just poor customer service skills would make one wonder whether or not it will be worth living in one of their homes. Their only saving grace is a sweet lady that works in the office, but when she's not there and the lions in the den... watch out! Just not worth renting from these folks in my opinion. Lots of other property management companies in the Tri-Valley area with better reputations to deal with.
