Poor Service 5/16/2014

Inadequate and incompetent diagnosis of issue. Then further delay in providing information to me. I brought my vehicle in for service due to overheating. It was established that there was a coolant leak and the water pump was bad. Autotek performed the service and said everything was complete. A few months later the car over heated again and it was determined that the water pump had once again broken. Autotek replaced the water pump. The next day there was an odd knocking sound from the engine. I had driven it less than 10 miles and decided to take it back right away so that the issue could be addressed. The shop stated that it seemed fine and they could not hear anything, but they wanted to keep it a day and see. I picked up the car again after they could not hear the noise. A few days later the noise was back and very prevalent. I drove the car back to the shop and they keep it for a few more days. At this time the technicians and the manager heard the noise. They guessed it was something to do with the transmission or timing chain. I was advised to take the car back and bring it in at a later date so another manager can figure out what is wrong. When I brought the car in for the last time, they keep it for a day and half and their response now is that there is no strange sound. Suddenly they deny there was anything wrong before and that the car is fine. The lack of communication and sudden change in information is astounding. I have been without my vehicle for over 5 days on this issue that arose after their repairs and now they change their position on whether the car has an issue. This place is untrustworthy and not worth the time. more

They were courteous, worked quickly and fixed all the problems that my 200k mile car had. I'm very happy with the service and the communication. more

Worst garage ever 1/11/2014

I took my truck to have them look at my clutch was sticking. They quoted $1200 worth of repairs needed for a new clutch. A mechanic friend went to the lot and flushed the hydraulic fluid and it ran perfectly. When I went to settle bill and get the keys they proceeded to charge $45 for a supposedly free diagnoses. So I paid $45 for a incorrect diagnosis and they tried to charge $1200 for a $10 fix. Will never go back or recommend to anyone. more

I've been a customer there for about 11 years, and the quality and speed of service is always more than satisfactory. I have an old car that has had issues due to age, and they take the same care with my old car as they would with a new car. Often they go above and beyond with the customer service. more

We've been taking our cars to Autotek for the past at least 8 years and have had nothing but excellent service. They have saved us probably thousands over what we would have paid at the dealer. All our cars are always in top shape and a couple of them have served us well past the 120,000 mile mark. more

Horrible Service North and South. 5/27/2011

If I could give it no stars I would. This place does nothing but rip their customers off. They charge way too much and never fix the problems when it is brought to their attention. The north location is the biggest joke. Talk about horrible customer service. If you want to get your car back unfixed and worse off than it was before, than this is definitely the place to go. They really know how to screw their clients and without the grease. Whoever this owner is, he really is a jerk for running his business so badly. more

I brought my car to Autotek Auto Service because the steering wheel was vibrating. I outlined the issue and they got very focused right away. They tried the most cost-effective solution first, which I really appreciated. The second method they tried proved to be the most effective, and I was pleased with the end result. Autotek were very focused on solving the problem, and not on the bill. They did a good job of analyzing the situation, and got the work completed quickly, in the same day. I will definitely continue to use them. more

Absolute worst experience ever and not people you can trust.. Go somewhere else!!!! RESPONSE FROM Autotek Auto Repair: This review pertains to service that was done 7 and 9 months ago.
The customer has declined numerous attempts to talk, meet, and resolve any issues.
The customer opened a complaint with BBB. We have responded in good faith, but the customer did not followup with the BBB's efforts to resolve the issues, so BBB has closed the case.
We encourage the customer to finish the process started with a neutral third party, the BBB, and we are happy to do whatever the BBB thinks is fair and appropriate. more

Normally I do my own vehicle maintenance but was in the process of moving and didn't have access to my tools or a garage. Looking around online for a good reputable shop (and going largely on the three reviews previous to mine) I chose to take my truck to these guys when it unexpectedly broke down. It took them almost a week to repair an easy ignition problem because the only mechanic with a tool they needed wasn't in for several days. The cost for the repair was ridiculous ($980) but I didn't have time to deal with it. Right away I started getting junk mail from them making it look like they cared and were following up with me. About a month later I had to have my truck towed back there again for what I knew was the same problem. It took a while again but they fixed it. About another month after that I had to have my truck towed back to them a third time for what I again knew was the same problem. After a couple days they came up with a "new problem" it had and said it was going to be another $700 to fix. I talked to Rick at the front and told him it's the same problem it had before that they hadn't fixed. How can you come up with something new and try to charge me that much when you haven't fixed the original problem yet? He wouldn't budge on anything so I walked out having to pay them another diagnostic fee of $95. They pushed my truck out of the shop at that point with stuff taken apart and loose wires and missing bolts (found out later). I also noticed after I'd left the shop that a Leatherman Micra was stolen from my vehicle (only thing I've noticed so far). The next shop I took my truck to, which will be where I go from now on and will send everyone I know to, fixed the original problem and everything Autotek did to it for a little over $300 and I haven't had a problem since. Customers Beware!!!!!!!! 7/15/2010

I had Autotek perform a simple service of replacing my lights, but instead of removing the bumper to replace the lights (like it calls for), they tried to do a different way(quicker for them). Their service cause damage to my vehicle and cost me over $1,000 to fix. They would not even except blame for their poor service. I would not wish my worst enemy to go to Autotek. Please find another company to service your vehicle, unless you want to be out of pocket. RESPONSE FROM Autotek Auto Repair: We are sorry that something came off the bottom of your car (gravel guard?) on the road trip from Denver to Mississippi. However, we did not put the car on the lift or do anything to the bottom of the car when we replaced the headlights.

We're not sure exactly what is damaged from the road trip, but we'd be happy to look at the car at no charge and try to work with you to find a way to repair whatever the damages are at the lowest possible cost. And if it is in any way related to the headlights, we'd like to fix whatever that might be.

I Don't Trust Mechanics.... 6/18/2010

I usually don't trust mechanics when it comes to my car. However, Autotek has earned it. Autotek did some work done on my car. A few days later, I was downtown when something else when wrong - my radiator hose split, smoke from the hood, etc. I called Don at Autoteck and he arranged to have one of his downtown suppliers deliver a new hose and radiator fluid to me, downtown, in less than an hour! I've never had that kind of service. more

I have an older car -- 18 years old! My Isuzu Amigo needed quite a bit of work. From the superb workmanship to the friendly customer service, this is the only place I will ever bring my cars as long as I live in Colorado! I can't believe how good my little truck is running -- it's like she's brand new! more

Great, cost-effective service. 2/11/2010

I initially started using Autotek Auto Service for an older Explorer and they did such a great job that I continued using them. They found things that were wrong with the car that ended up saving me money. They also work on our Suburban, which I used to take to the dealer, but now I take it to Autotek. They are very personable and they know your name when you walk in the door. They also keep good records on our cars and they let me know what work I need to do, what has to be done, and what can wait. They work hard to make sure they do a good job and they do things that are cost-effective. more

I started using Autotek Auto Service about 3 years ago because they were close to my office and someone I work with recommended them. My experience with them has been very positive. They do a good job and they are courteous, timely, helpful. They will shuttle you to and from work. Autotek is less inclined than dealerships to convince you that you need things you do not need. They will recommend work that needs to be done in the future, but they do not try to convince you to do anything unnecessary. I have no complaints and have already recommended them. Vicky Roden more

I took my Jeep into Auto Tek to get some repairs done in 2008. Okay, it's car stuff so it's never going to be cheap. We heard their reputation was to be reasonable and honest. We found this to be the case. more

Honest mechanics 11/3/2008

I took my car in for its 100,000 service and it needed a lot. They spent 2 days on it and followed up to see how satisfied I was. They're prices are fair but not inexpensive. My only concern was the amount of time it took. more
