Ron is an extremely knowledgeable and honest mechanic. He will not sell you on anything you don't need. 4/11/2012

Automotive Associates has been my mechanic for almost 4 years now. They work on both of my vehicles. They have done a transmission job, re-tapping, break work, and all the regular maintenance on both vehicles. I'm very happy with them. One memorable experience I've had with them is when I needed a repair and Ron was honest enough to let me know that the repair I needed done was a warranty repair from Toyota. more

They do great work and are very honest about what needs to be done. 4/10/2012

Automotive Associates are very honest. Sometimes I ask Ron if I need to do certain things to my car, and he tells me everything's working fine. He just does what's needed, his prices are fair, and he does a great job. Ron's very honest, and that's rare in this day and age. I have always sent a lot of people to him. I used to have somebody else as my mechanic, and I found Ron and was blown away by his honesty and better prices. How many people will truly tell you your car is fine when work doesn't need to be done in this day and age? more

He's the best mechanic I've had. 4/9/2012

In the past I had been using a friend of my son's for auto work. They specialized mainly in the restoration of cars so he ended up telling me about Automotive Associates and said that they had the latest diagnostics gear and could be more helpful. Since then I have been using Automotive Associate. About 3 years now. The man at Automotive Associates is really good and he knows what he's doing. He does have the latest diagnostics gear which is great. He's also very honest and a nice guy. Now I go to him any time I need auto work done. He's really the best mechanic I've had. more

Professional, responsive, and appropriate in terms of repairs. 4/6/2012

I have a Saturn that is over 10 years old and not made anymore. My friend recommended Automotive Associates to me. I'm very happy with their services. They are detailed, professional, and only notify me of repairs that are absolutely necessary. They work around my busy schedule. I can drop off my car in the morning and pick it up in the evening, so it minimizes the time I don't have a car. more

Honest, professional, courteous, efficient, and very reliable work. 4/5/2012

I have gone to Automotive Associates for about 10 years. I needed a mechanic and was not happy with the guy I was going to. I have been with Ron ever since the first visit. He goes the extra step and is always very courteous. He will tell you staight out what the problem is. He always makes sure my vehicle is kept clean and gets good service at an affordable price. It is hard for a women to find a honest mechanic, but I have found one. more

Honest, professional quality work. Gets job done quickly. 4/3/2012

I found Automotive Associates two blocks away from where I was living in 2004, after I had gone to a bad mechanic before who really messed up my car. Ron is one of the only honest mechanics I've found, and that's especially difficult as a female. He is very knowledgeable and trustworthy with my car. He's always able to fix the unusual things that happen to my car, too. I recommend him to all of my friends. He's a really good mechanic. more

I find Ron and Automotive Associates to be professional, fair, and honest. Also in general, I think their work is fairly priced. 3/30/2012

Last time I went into Automotive Associates and was having engine noise problems. I had no idea how serious they were, so I was anticipating a much bigger problem, but Ron called me later and said that it was something very simple, just some maintenance work that needed to be done. I was thrilled to have him do that. He could have said I need a new engine, and I would have said sure, but it was just some fluids and maintenance. It was dollars compared to what it could have been. Ron is there to help the customer, and of course make a living, but he's not going to sell you something that you don't need. He won't take advantage. I've known him for a long time because I live around the corner from his shop. I started coming to him because my dealer warranty service was causing me too much grief, and he has taken terrific care of my family and I. more

Working with Ron and everyone at Automotive Associates has made a terrible experience into one filled with trust and confidence. 3/29/2012

Honestly, I haven't ever found anyone I trust with my vehicle more than Automotive Associates. The guy who owns the shop is the most personable person. I know nothing about cars, and Ron explains what's really going on. It's really nice that he takes care of my car and gives me a really good deal. A lot of the time, I think car repair places are horrible because I can't tell if I'm being overcharged, but Automotive Associates never does that. They make a horrible experience a good one. My car is always done on time for a really good price. They do good, honest work, which is hard to come by. more

They fix things for good. Excellent service. 3/28/2012

I have taken my car to Automotive Associates for many many years. When something is wrong they identify it and fix it. They don't use temporary fixes. They fix the issue so that I don't have to think of it ever again. When Ron told me he does not use after market parts, that made me think that they would be expensive. I found their prices to be competitive. I would gladly pay a little bit more to know that when I leave, my car is fixed. more

Nobody touches my car but Ron at Automotive Associates. He is great. 3/26/2012

It started when I got my new car. I was going to the dealership where I bought the car from, for my service needs. I went in one day to get an oil change and they told me I needed to replace my front and rear break pads. I had a friend check it out and they said that the break pads were not even close to worn down. Those mechanic friends of mine sent me to Automotive Associates. The guy is great and I have never had any problems. Ron is an honest guy that takes care of his local customers. I have been going to them for 8 years now. more

I met Ron at Automotive Associates through a friend. I brought my car to him after another mechanic had put in a totally wrong part in my car. he has done a lot of work for me. He's very professional and super honest. He doesn't say stuff to make more money but because you really need do it. more

Very good mechanic. Very dependeable and fast. 6/6/2011

Automotive Associates have taken care of three different cars I've taken there, some foreign and some domestic. Their prices are less than the dealer's pricing. One of the most important aspects about Automotive Associates was that it was within walking distance of my house. I trust Ron to do a good job and not do things that are unnecessary. If you want to try to find a mechanic you can trust, you can find one in Ron. I was searching for places in my neighborhood and came across Automotive Associates. They serviced vehicles at Disney so I took that to be a good sign. more

Worst car repair experience 11/14/2010

This was the worst car repair experience of my life. These guys were well aware of the problem and did absolutely nothing to resolve it. The car came back to me worse than when I brought it. Customer service was zip.\r \r I picked these guys because of the reviews on this site and feel we all have a responsibility to post our experiences so other consumers can learn from our experiences. more

The owner's name is Ron ? a no-nonsense and trustworthy individual. He and his manager, Rick, have been at this location for many years.\r \r Automotive Associates has knowledge and technology equivalent to the ?dealerships,? but in my opinion, their customer service well exceeds any typical new car dealership.\r \r If you are looking for low-cost, cut-rate auto repair - this is not the place to go. However, if you want top-notch, excellent service and feel confident that your vehicle is SAFE driving L.A.'s streets and freeways, you should give Automotive Associates a call. more

For some reason I just didn't trust them 7/10/2007

I took my truck in to them for a couple issues I was having. They had it for a couple hours and called me back to say that it needed a major tune up (I've heard that before) that would cost me around $600. They couldn't tell me exactly what the problem(s) were but said I needed the tune up and that would fix it. I didn't have them do the work but did it myself and my truck is no better off.\r \r I may have been too quick to trust the reviews on this site and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I didn't notice anything special about these guys or Ron (whom I dealt with). more

straight forward and honest 4/16/2007

This automotive repair and service business won't stick you with unnecessary expenses. We took our car into them because the dealership said our brake pads needed to be replaced. Automotive Associates took off our tires and did a brake check to find out that wasn't true. We were charged a nominal fee for the check, but at least we have peace of mind that our brakes are safe. more

Very Good Service 10/9/2005

Ron is a straight up guy who knows his stuff. I live in Orange County but my car broke down in the northern part of the San Fernando valley. I first researched mechanics for the area on the internet and Automotive Associates had two 5 star ratings and an "A" grade from the Better Business Bureau. I would have to agree with the first two ratings of 5 stars for honesty and integrity. Having my car stranded too far for towing back to OC I could have been subjected to a lot of you need this, this, and this fixed and have been charged unreasonable prices, but Automotive Associates pinpointed the problem, fixed it and charged a reasonable price. They even dropped the diagnostic charge after they diagnosed the issue and fixed it. I highly recommend them and would go to them again should I ever end up in the same predicament again. more
