I purchased a 2004 ford explorer. The same evening i noticed that the A/C and heating system didnt work. I notified Automaxx right away. The man (mike) who claimed to be the owner assured me that it would be fixed and he stood behind his cars 100%. The next day, less the 24 hours, i was driving to Santa Rosa, CA to be at an appointment. During my drive i was called and informed the appointment was canceled. I turned around and drove back. By time i reached Fresno i was pulling up to the school and noticed this loud sound like something was being dragged under the suv. I got out and looked. Nothing. So i drove off and again i heard the sound. Looked again, nothing. I got home and ask the maintenance man to come out and listen to the suv while i drove in the parking lot. He siad it was coming from the right front tire. Once he removed the hub cap 2 lug nuts fell off and on to the ground. The other 3 were loosely hanging on by a thread of the bolt. I had him check all the tires. The left front tire also the same as the others. The back were fine. I went to the dealership and told them of this issue and they blamed it on an employee that they just fired 2 weeks prior. Later that day i noticed that it was leaking from the radiator and also that oil was leaking. It took then 2 weeks to fix the leaks and the a/c heating unit. Then another 1 weeks to fix the breaks and the bearings due that they were loud while stopping. Shortly after, not even a month after i bought it the transmission begins to slip. I had to tow it back home. I called in to them on the 7th of may 2013 and informed them of the transmission. Let me add that durring this whole trouble they still hadnt financed me and the guy (Gabril) tried to get me to give him an additional 1,800.00 for a bank fee that is not part of the contract. I told him no, then 3 days later Gabril was gone. it is now Oct 2013 durring this time automaxx took my car said the found nothing wrong with, had the transmission serviced, then they broke the pan on the trasmission, then it wouldnt run, had it serviced again but because it was slipping they couldnt service it. They kept my suv a total of 45 days before they returned it to me.The day i got it back the check engin light was on and it wouldnt go in reverse. it was smoking from under neith so bad i had to have it towed back to the dealership. The next day they siad they drove the car 30 miles and not once seen any smoke. So i took it and drove it 3 blocks when it started to smoke. I drove it strait back to automaxx. So then the service manager (Wallie) says ""ok, now we can see a problem, lets put it on the lift. They placed it on the lift and saw that the hose on the transmission was setting on top of the catilitic converter and the fluid was dripping on it causing it to smoke. Wallie had the mechanic take a zip tie and tie the hose to the frame of the suv. Then i left. The next day i called wallie to let him know that the transmission was still slipping. He told me that there is nothing more he is going to do for me. And they fix the problem. When i asked for all doucumention on the work preformed on the suv the dealer ship refused to give it to me and when i asked for the doucumentation for the warranty on the transmission they provided me with a receipt for a transmission they returned and got money back on and not for the transmission they said they replaced. I then made a complaint with the BBB and the BAR. The BAR stepted in and got the dealership to replace the transmission. So in all of this i will say that automaxx is not the place to be buying your cars from. Nothing but lies and dishonesty. AUTOMAXX is NO GOOD. Hopefully this will end well and i will no longer have the problems again.
