I HAVE TO SAY THAT I AM FLABERGASTED TOWARDS A CUSTOMER THAT HAS NO UNDERSTANDING TO WHAT JUST HAPPENED TO HIM AND ALSO THE SHOP THAT TRULY WENT THE EXTRA MILE FOR HIM AND HIS CAR. THIS SITUATION IS A SHOPS NIGHTMARE. THE CUSTOMER DID BRING HIS CAR IN FOR A WATER PUMP. HE SUPPLIED THE PARTS. BUT THIS WAS A TIMING BELT DRIVEN WATER PUMP SO WE SUGGESTED THAT WE REPLACE THE TIMING BELT W/A NEW ONE WHILE WE WERE INVOLVED WITH THE REPAIR. WE INSTALLED A GATES TIMING KIT. WHICH INCLUDES A BELT, TENSIONER, & OTHER PULLIES THAT INVOLVE THE TIMING BELT. WHERE THE PROBLEM COMES IN IS THAT THE NEW TENSIONER CAME W/A NEW BOLT, THAT BOLTED IT TO THE BLOCK. THIS BOLT BROKE WHILE THE CUSTOMER WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THIS ENG IS A INTERFERANCE ENG, WHICH MEANS THAT THE VALVES WILL MAKE CONTACT W/THE PISTONS IF IT COMES OUT OF TIME. EVERY VALVE IN THE ENG WAS BENT IMMEDIATLY. NOT TO GO INTO A VERY LONG WRENCHING ORDEAL. OUR SHOP,OUT OF ITS OWN POCKET PAID OVER 3000.00$ TO REPAIR THIS CUSTOMERS CAR.THE COME BACKS THAT THE COUSTOMER IS COMPLAINING ABOUT ARE OTHER REPAIRS THE HE WILL NEED TO TAKE CARE OF THAT HAS NO RELATION TO OUR REPAIR. THE LOOSE ITEMS THE CUSTOMER IS TALKING ABOUT IS A MAKE SHIFT COLD AIR INTAKE KIT THAT HE OR SOME OTHER UNCERTIFIED PERSON PUT TOGETHER ON HIS CAR AND WE ASKED HIM FOR REFERENCE ON HOW HE WANTED IT RECONNECTED. THIS WAS THE ONLY QUESTION WE HAD TO HOW HE HAD IT JERRY RIGGED ON HIS CAR. I FEEL FOR THE CUSTOMER THAT THE CAR WAS DOWN FOR RUFFLY 3 WEEKS. THIS TIME WAS DUE TO THE UNAVALABILITY OF HARD ENG PARTS FOR AN AUDI. WE DID CONTACT THE CUSTOMER TO ALLOW HIM TO KNOW WHERE WE WERE IN THE REPAIR BUT NOT ON A DAILY BASES. THE CUSTOMER WAS WORKING OUT OF A SERVICED AREA AND WOULD DROP IN IN THE EVENINGS TO CHECK THE STATUS. SO WHY WOULD I HAVE TO CALL HIM ANY MORE. FOR THIS I FELT WOULD HAVE BEEN A FURTHER BURDEN. THE THING THAT UPSETS ME THE MOST IS THAT A CUSTOMER LIKE THIS SEES NO GRACE. HE IS NOT THE ONLY VICTIM OF THIS SITUATION. NOBODY IS ANY SORRIER THAN THE AUTO CLINIC FOR THIS MISFORTUNATE SITUATION. BUT I CAN HONESTLY SAY TO ANYONE WHO READS THIS REVIEW THAT THE AUTO CLINIC DID EVERYTHING IN ITS POWER TO SERVICE THIS CUSTOMER TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY AND RESOURCES.
