No official place of business. No company website. Practically impossible to get a hold of. It seems all I get is the run around. They (being Craig Coffee and Cat - the heartless b**** of a receptionist) don't answer the phone, and they don't return phone calls in the same day. Very unorganized, very unprofessional, and rude when they do speak to you. Closed two out of the five business days. Really? Impossible to work with. They could care less about helping Tenants or being even remotely helpful. Maintenance requests take forever. Property leased was a dump on the outside. Trash and cigarettes everywhere. Basically, don't live on their properties, and don't deal with them at all if you would like to keep your sanity! I would rather stab a fork in my eye than deal with them again. more

I lived at 900 West 23RD for 3 years in a row. The first two years were fine, but recently, the place has gone downhill. The landlord, Craig Coffee, has stopped caring about the upkeep of the complex. Lights are always burnt out, landscaping is ignored, gate are frequently broken for long periods of time, etc... The broken gates are especially troublesome as my car was broken into here on more than one occasion. The worst part of my final year at 900 W was over Winter Break when my room flooded. I was out of town (as was everyone, since it was Winter Break) and Coffee never even had the common sense to call me and tell me that my room had flooded. He did a half a$$ job of cleaning up the mess. My room still smells like mold, my walls show water damage, my carpet is 'lumpy' and Coffee was so unbelievable rude about the whole thing. DO NOT LIVE HERE!! For the money, you can live somewhere nicer that includes some of your utilities. At 900 W you pay water, electric, gas, cable, internet, and all maintenance. Coffee nickle and dimes everybody. I just offered to return my keycard by mail, and rather than provide me with his address, Coffee told me since my lease ended 2 days ago, it was too late for me to return it and that I would be charged. I can't wait to see how much of my security deposit I get back!! I'm sure there will be deductions for the flood, maybe that's why he tried to get away with not telling me about it. DO NOT LIVE HERE! Its a waste of money, and the landlord is scum among landlords. more

hi friends, fellow austinite here lauren-here to warn you about austin investments. i've never wrote a review before, but i thought this was necessary. i want to save you the trouble if i can.. please read my review so i can help you save yourself a big mistake. craig coffee is the owner of austin investments. seriously, the guy turns off his ears during a complaint of an issue and repeats himself saying his famous quote ""well, we're not gonna do that"" meaning he's not going to fix ANYTHING!! i lived in my house for 9 months and broke contract because i was so unhappy. he let the yard grow (not kidding, we measured) 11 feet tall. he was mad because his secretary included lawn maintenance in our lease while he was away on vacation and so he decided he wouldn't regularly cut our yard. mold, no hot water, fleas, fencing problems... etc. etc. my main complaint and the main reason i left is because this a$$hole blamed me for my dog's death. i lived at 2903 west 45th st. which is directly next to loop 1 aka mopac. i made a complaint about the fence prior to moving in. he did fix one piece of the fence, wait i'm sorry ""fixed"" the fence... but one portion he left untouched. i had to put a piece of wood to block a certain hole. as it weathered, i didn't think to check on my ghetto fix and my dog escaped one night out of the blue. he was an indoor/outdoor dog and had never (on his own) tried to escape. well one night he did and i found him on my own on the side of mopac dead and not in one piece. he was my world. i mourned for 3 months and still deal with the tragedy. the worst part about all of this besides me loosing my lovey, is when i informed craig, he pointed the blame on me and told me it was my fault my dog escaped and that the fence was fine. he actually stopped listening to me mourn and turned on his 'repeat button' saying 'we're not taking responsibility for your dog' and ended up literally SCREAMING at me like i was his child or something. this depressed me even more as i was already dealing with normal guilt of hexum's passing. he literally said it was my fault people.. if you still want to rent at this point, you're in for a real treat!...... =/ craig literally yelled at my roommie and i each two different occasions to where we had no choice but to argue and yell back. all 4 conversations ended up with us hanging up on the d@uche bag. his secretary, katy is his right hand d@uche. i was trying to get a roommate replacement and she had the nerve to say bad things about me to the new roommate. luckily the new roommate was my friend, so it didn't matter, but i was appalled when i found out she was exploiting me as she was. she didn't like that i demanded things to be done. nor did he. but they wouldn't do sh!t otherwise, or really even after demanding. they don't do ANYTHING, EVER!! i ended up calling code enforcement on them a couple of times, it helped a little.. i spent my whole time there with out hot water in the bathroom and a flea infestation in the backyard, neither issue he took care of until the last week i was there. but he always would refuse the flea problem. i also remember when my water heater broke, he told my roommate i complained too much because i found mold in the house and the water heater broke. i complained of these 2 issues in the same week and he said i was quote ""demanding"". i demanded the yard be taken care of, and he never did. the yard was cut a total of 3 times the entire time i was there from aug-may. ps... we had BAMBOO! i'm telling you no matter WHO shows you the house/apt DON'T DO IT!!! there is only one matenence guy who does all the properties because CRAIG IS A SLUMLORD AND A HALF, so you won't get shi! fixed!! WORST EVER, HORRIBLE COMMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT SKILLS!!!! Coffee is the worst landlord in Austin and one of the most difficult people I've ever had to deal with. While I've been mostly happy with my apartment, when there are problems he not only refuses to fix them but he also finds a way to cheat you out of extra money. He's impossible to get in touch with and extremely rude over the phone. He's even changed the gate code and shut off the water multiple times without notifying anyone. more

Craig Coffee is a trifling, mean and money hungry landlord. Do NOT lease from Austin Investments or any other company that he is involved with. You will be plagued with slow responding and vicious charges. He will do anything to try to get money from you but will do the bare minimal to try and help you when you need it. Even his own employees say he is a conniving cheat and don't feel comfortable working for him. Craig I hope you get what you deserve!!! jail time!!! more

Craig coffee locked me out of my apartment and told me he was out of town and wouldn't be back til 5pm to fix it!!! THE DAY BEFORE FINALS! AND MY ROOMMATE AND I WERE WEARING PAJAMAS AND NO SHOES! and he doesn't have anyone in town to deal with this stuff???? ridiculous. more
