Best

Ok, the parking, or lack off is terrible. But the museum it's self is pretty amazing. My sons love this place, and they have been coming here for years. It can get a little crowde...

Worst

My son (12 months) and I went here last Tues (7/28/09) and I was terribly disappointed. I don't mind that it is downtown. I actually like that part b/c then I can stroll around ...

Austin Children's Museum 4/14/2006

If you are looking for a place this summer to get out of the hot sun then this is a a great place to take your children. I have not been there in a while but they use to always change some of their exhibits so the children will always see something new when they go. We have had the opporutnity to attend several parties at this museum and my children had a lot of fun. However, the parking situation is horrible, especially on weekends. My children have always had a great time when going to the museum. The staff have always been friendly and the musuem itself is very inviting for children. more

Great place to take the kids 11/30/2005

We like that they do some free Sundays, that's very cool! Kids LOVE this place. It has the coolest and NEATEST things for them, and it is very interactive. THe kids can touch and play and look and feel, which is important to them. There is even a little music room in the back done to the theme of the Austin City Limits that the kids can go and be rock stars! There is a little kitchen that the kids like to play and can pretend to serve their parents meals. In the summer, they offer a wide variety of great summer camps and are pretty affordable. They are located downtown, but do have a small designated parking lot. more

Like the toddler morning problem 8/29/2005

The Austin Children's Museum is a good place for the younger ones to explore, early in the morning when they offer the baby bloomers program. During the day, the museum is really load and filled with kids from daycares and schools. They are very hands on, and the exhibits allow children to explore on their own, and have some help by the museum staff if they need it. It is a good place to spend a hot summer day with the grandkids too. more

My toddler enjoys it! 8/21/2005

I think the Austin Children’s Museum is a wonderful place to take kids especially the younger ones. The Baby Bloomers program is a great idea where the museum is only open on Mondays for ages 3 and under. This enables the little ones to learn and explore without worrying about older kids taking over the areas. The admissions do add up fast, so it might be wise to invest in a membership should you decide to make the Austin Children’s Museum a regular family activity. more

Having fun while learning!! 8/20/2005

The Austin Children's museum is one of the best children's museums I have ever visited. It changes its displays regularly so that kids can come back and see new things. It offers a whole room for creating art. This is one of my children's favorite places in the museum. There is also an indoor play area and plenty to see and do. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The only problem is parking. At busy times you will either pay for parking or have to hike a distance with children in tow!! more

Nice Kids Activity 8/13/2005

Geared toward toddlers and elementary level children, the exhibits will help educate your kids and ignite their curiosity. Over 7,000 square feet of exhibits encourage interactive hands on play. If you're looking for something to do with your kids on a lazy afternoon, this is definetly it. I hope you enjoy it. more

Not the best museum... 8/12/2005

The Austin Children's museum has some interesting exhibits but is not as interactive as I like Children's Museums to be. It tends to be loud and overrun with school groups during the day. The staff is helpful and courteous but this isn't a very extensive or interactive museum. The parking situation is confusing and could be better planned. more

Hands on is the way to go! 8/5/2005

Austin Childrens Museum is a blast to take kids of all ages to. From babie and toddler time, to regular hours where everyone is invited it is a great experiance. I particularly like the baby/toddler time, where my small children can play without the fear of being trampled or hurt! Great place and the price is very affordable. I only wish they were open later! more

Great Hands on Activities 7/17/2005

The Children's museum is the perfect place to take your children for an afternoon of fun and learning. The museum is divided into different sections such as a restaurant, stage, toddler play area, craft room, and some exhibits teaching history and other cultures. Your kids will think that they have spent the day playing while you can feel good knowing that they have also learned something new. more
