I Won't Go Anywhere Else From Now On! 10/16/2007

When my dogs collapsed at home, this is the place I took him to. Everyone was very attentive and passionate. I was able to ask a lot of questions and get answers that satisfied me. Some may think this place is expensive, but with the care that my animal, I had no problem with price. Besides, money is replaceable, best friends aren't. As for my dog, he's 100% better. They are pretty positive he had an allergic reaction to something. But, since I don't know what he got into, it could be anything. But, the fact is he's a lot better and I have this place to thank. more

Austin Vet Care--- They care about your money, not your pet 8/8/2007

My first experience at Austin Vet Care on N. Lamar @ 41st is one of the worst customer services I've ever had anywhere. The front desk girls seem to work off of commission and try to sneak in extra charges any way they can. The high school aged girls seem like they are are well trained to manipulate clients into paying any charges that they can weasel of them. They repeatedly offered me services and tests but did not want to discuss fees. Their basic regular office vists cost $46 plus what ever the vet actually does. I was referred to this vet by a rescue group. I think they are trying to make themselves look good by helping out the rescue groups, but in reality it seems like they get just charge their "regular clients" outrageous fees and try to trick them in to buying tests, services, etc that they don't need. I had a problem because I felt like I was overcharged because I paid $46 and the vet didn't even do the exam because they could not get their fax machine to accept the incoming faxes. I tried to speak to Gordi, the Office Manager at Austin Vet Care, but she refused to refund my charges or allow me to reschedule. She said I could reschedule my appt and pay another $46 if I wanted to finish up my visit. It would have cost me $93 just to become a new client. What a rip off! If you are looking for a vet hospital that just wants you're money, you've come to the right place! Pros: They are open 24/7 Cons: Just about everything else more
