I went to this salon because it had good reviews and good prices. After going there, I honestly can't believe the good reviews!\r \r The overall atmosphere of the salon felt cheap and tacky. I had second thoughts about it when I first arrived, but I decided not to judge it on that alone and gave it a chance. Big mistake.\r \r My stylist was Cindy. She was nice enough, but pretty unprofessional. I had a haircut and highlights done. I've had highlights done many times before and I know how long it takes. She managed to do it in half that time. I felt like she rushed through it and applied them very sloppily. She was also very rough with my hair and would press the foils against my face and roughly brush on the dye. My highlights were really messy looking, and I could see where the bleach bled at the roots because she applied it so sloppily. For my cut, I asked for a trim and she cut off at least a good 3 inches. She also hacked these weird layers into my hair, which I did not ask for. \r \r Throughout my services, she would talk about how she would give me a deal if I came back, and so much off, and if I referred my friends they would get a deal too, etc. I felt like she was begging for me to come back and send more people to her. She didn't just mention it once or twice, but constantly. \r \r I would not go back to this salon if you paid me! Maybe the other styists are better, but I couldn't tell you that because there was nobody else in there when I was. more

I have curly thick hair which can be difficult to cut. Debbie knew exactly how to cut it. This is probably one of the best haircuts I have ever had. The atmosphere is friendly and clean. It is not a mass chain. I believe in supporting the small business owner. I will be back to see Debbie again and again. Pros: Great hair cut, good value more

Thank you creative haircuts for giving me a great dimensional color and haircut, this salon is very friendly and has good customer service, stylist pay attention to their client in their chair and do what you ask. The salon is very organzied for having such a high volume, you can use call ahead service if you do not want to wait, My boyfriend also had a haircut and said it was the best cut he ever had, the salon is family owned and that makes a big diffrence on how you are treated, be back in 3 weeks for a color glaze. I am a senior creative haircuts gives seniors a discount 7 days a week, the guy at the desk has great customer service I had a great conversation while I was waiting for my haircut, He told me the salon was family owned and operated, I use to go to a diffrent person but she is no longer there, I heard 3 stylist left them on the spot seems they were very unprofessional, The atmosphere in the salon is very professional and my stylist was very friendly made me very comfortable, salon is very clean finally I was taken to a clean station, seems there have been alot of changes there defintley for the better, great job see you in 3 weeks. more

I had my hair cut at creative haircuts I love it the stylist did a great job, I also found out this salon is family owned and operated, it is very clean with a professional atmosphere, I also tan there the guy at the desk is great with customer service and gives students discounts on everything, he is very friendly, I see alot of new faces there but it is much better than my last visit, the stylist only cut hair that i had and did not have any color knowledge, I do not think she is there anymore, I will be going back for my dimensional color and glaze, new staff knows alot, they are very busy especially on the weekends vI would use theie call ahead service. more

First the bad news; I stopped in for a haircut by my favorite hairdresser Mary and found out she was no longer working at Creative Haircuts. At first I panicked - what was I to do?!? I was offered another stylist by the man at the counter, but declined as he came across in an ?unknowledgeable? for lack of a better term. Before I had a chance to politely excuse myself, he blurted out that 3 of the stylists had ?left abruptly? the same day (turns out to be LeeAnn, Lisa and ?my? Mary). With this in mind I logically concluded that Mary and the ?girls? must have changed locations and decided to do a little investigating of my own as good hairdressers are hard to find! \r \r GOOD NEWS! I called a mutual friend and sure enough she had chatted with Mary and let me know that Mary is working at a brand new Salon opened by LeeAnn and Lisa. The name of the new Salon is Salon L, which is located on Whitney Avenue in Hamden, on the same side of the street as the Playwright Restaurant and right next to Wooster Travel if I?m not mistaken. If you?re looking for Mary, Lisa or LeeAnn the phone number for Salon L is 230-1455. I called and spoke with Mary (yeah, a friendly voice!) to schedule an appointment. For the 1st time in a LONG time, I had a good hair experience! This place is fantastic! Casual (not like some of the other local places with BIG attitude), friendly, and pleasant. Cindy does an amazing job both in highlights and cutting. She understood perfectly how I like my hair styled, so I didn't leave looking like something I'm not....I looked like me, only better! policy for children posted as you walk in must be 2 or older and able to sit on a booster seat reason being for insurance purposes I was told sissors are very sharp and just a tiny nick a child can bleed for hours this is a safety percaution for children and the salon. Highly recommended for following safety guidelines. Pros: good parking more

This salon refused to cut my son's hair because he wasn't able to sit in a booster seat by himself. He's only 1, and needs to sit in my lap. He does just fine when I can hold him, but cannot sit in a booster seat himself. I was refused service because of this. The policy is handwritten when you walk in, saying children must be 2 and up and be able to sit in a booster seat by themselves. more
