A year ago, in March 2004, my husband and I were looking for a house. We were doing it on our own, driving around different neighborhoods that we liked and calling the numbers listed on for sale signs. Astrid Coffey was the realtor for one of those homes. We quickly found we were not interested in that particular home. She continued to call us trying to have us hire her as our buyers agent. We did let her find more homes that we may be interested in. Every home she provided in the list was over the maximum amount we had stated we wanted to pay by at least $20,000 because she felt we could get approved for a mortgage for the higher amount. We had already told her we were basing the number on what we could afford, not what we could get approved for. She continued to call many times after we advised her we could not use her services. It took nearly a month before she stopped calling, and I think that's because we did find a house we wanted!
