Great food, great prices, great service 10/2/2006

Everything from Cucina is always fresh, full of creative ingredients and very flavorful. The salad bar has so many delicious gourmet items, and I absolutely love the paninis. So much better than the run-of-the-mill stuff you find all over midtown. When I have some extra time (not often), I'll sit down with a friend and order Cucina's awesome ""dinner for two"" special. It's a very filling, tasty three course meal for two for less than $25! Pros: Friendly service, great to stay or go, fresh Cons: The MetLife location isn't open on weekends more

Shockingly bad 10/3/2003

We were in Grand Central at dinnertime and ventured into Cucina. We ordered salad, a main course, a soda, and a glass of water. The soda came right away, followed by the main course--my ""rotisserie chicken"" (1 breast, no wing) looked more like sun-dried. Take II (1/2 chicken) was cold and fatty. We asked about our salads, which were then delivered: tasty, but way too much dressing. My husband was happy with his pasta, but he likes those pre-wrapped sandwiches from gas stations. . . . After we asked for our check, another server brought out our main courses--AGAIN! (Maybe the chicken was hot this time?) Cucina's so poorly run that even with 10 tables free and preset, there was a constant backlog of people waiting to be seated. Maybe the food's okay for lunchtime takeout, but don't be fooled by the quaint-looking seating area: It's no restaurant! Cons: overpriced, overrated, poorly run more

high quality, great selection 9/27/2002

Thank goodness I work in the MetLife building because I get to stop by Cucina every day. It's the kind of place you want near your office -- homemade breakfast treats, gourmet salad bar at lunch, sandwiches, coffee, yummy desserts. All creative, high quality, and delicious. more
