I love Arvada Pediatrics! Dr. Katherine 5/29/2012

I love Arvada Pediatrics! Dr. Katherine Starbuck is great!! She has always been the type of doctor to listen and understand and to assist with what was right for my family. I could go on and on, but just wanted to add my recommendation because I had seen so many negative which I just never exprerienced. I have never had a problem with getting my kids seen at the last minute and also received great help from Sue, the Nurse who helped over the phone when I wasn't sure if I should go in or not. : ) more

Excessive billing beware 12/20/2011

When we switched from one pediatrician to another Dr Kathryn Starbuck asked if we could come in early so we did. They went ahead and billed another visit although they requested we come in early. When I received the bill for this I spoke to Terry in the billing department she thought it was an error because it was billed on the same day as a well visit for which we do not pay copays for. I spoke to the office manager who would not budge either on this and stated that I could dispute it but the insurance company will read the DR notes and just side with them so I would waste my time disputing it. I went ahead and disputed it anyway we switched pediatricians to another office altogether this office is not worth your time or money for that matter. more

Not worthy of your child 10/3/2011

You would think that your pediatrician would do what you think is best for your child. Not this place I have a special needs child and they are obsessed with the things we have no control over. My son has a G-tube and they wanted him to have surgery redone so he would not throw up, even after a letter from the surgeon that said it was not needed Dr Michael Starbuck would not let it go. He also had me sign a waiver because I don more

dissapointing experience 9/1/2011

I am expecting a new bundle of joy and will obviously need a doc for her. I called was put on hold and when I finally spoked to a person I asked if it was possible to schedule a meeting with any of the doctors. The very RUDE receptionist cut me off and told me that they ""just don't do that here."" Are you kidding? What kind of response is that to have? So, I will not even consider useing a place that wont meet with me first and after speaking with the reciptionist I am glad I wont be using them. I can't recomend them to anyone and would rather not have a doctor at all when my bundle comes than deal with a place this low class and one that employees VERY RUDE people. Not a good way to start what will end up being a very long relationship. more

can't even get in the door 7/6/2011

I've spent the last hour trying to get a meet-and-greet appointment for my 11 month old son. We're looking for a new pediatrician because our current one missed a diagnosis and we're dealing with the consequences. Naturally, I'd like to meet a doctor before I take the time to transfer records to a new doc. North office of Arvada Pediatrics doesn't allow for that, at all! They told to ""read the descriptions on the website"" of the doctors. Really? That's not anywhere near the same as meeting someone. Also, they told me they were ""just too busy"" to do a meet and greet appointment. This is a TERRIBLE way to do business. Oh, and the receptionists were outright rude to boot. more

Great experience 4/14/2011

I have been with Arvada Ped for 10 years and have been so happy. Our doctor is Dr. Noell Brucker and we LOVE her! She is very understanding, thorough and kind. We also love the nurses that you can call to ask questions to. They have saved us many trips into the doctor. I highly recommend this office, especially Dr. Brucker! more

Bad Experience --- Brought up Sex Topics to my 5 year old 3/28/2011

After a close to 2 hour wellness visit for my 5 year old. The Dr. (not our normal one) brought up the topic of Masterb... (you fill in the rest) topic to my son along with what happens when someone other than your parents get into your underwear etc. I was stunned and still am by this and that a Dr brought this up to my 5 year old. If I would have had my brains about me I would have got up and left. We are changing offices but just want to make all parents aware... to let the Dr know that they need permission before bringing up sexual talk with your kids!!! Please don't be blindsided like me. more

Great doctors, great staff 12/15/2010

I have 8 children and three with special medical needs. We visit the doctor frequently and have been impressed since 2002. Dr. Brucker is patient and kind. She takes it upon herself to research new studies and medications. Dr. Brucker calls to review information with me that has come in from my children's specialist. The office staff knows all my children by name and the nurses make each of my kids comfortable and relaxed. Of course there are wait times in the office and sometimes wait times on the phone, especially during flu season. These wait times are average for any practice and until I win the lottery and have a doctor on staff, I expect wait times. As a mom of many, I have seen many specialists and many doctors between regular appointments and those pesky after hours stitches and ear infections. I have to say, Arvada Pediatrics is one of the best. more

Zero stars 12/6/2010

I am new to the area and I have 3 kiddos so naturaly I needed to find a doc for them. So I started to search the net to find someone near our house, I came across Arvada Pediatric Associates North and despite some of the reviews being VERY negative I thought I would give them a call anyways. WOW was I wrong, the first time I called I was placed on hold in a EXTREMELY rude and abrupt maner for 5 min and 48 sec I didnt even get a chance to get a word in so I hung up and waited 5 or 6 min and I called back and I recieved the exact same treatment by the same lady this time waiting 4 min and 38 sec. Now this is just my opinion but it seems that any business runs on customer service, which this place lacks!!! more

Staff is unfriendly and cold 8/23/2010

I stop going to AVP because the staff has the personality of sofa. more

Below average staff, but great doctors 2/1/2010

We've been going to see Dr. Brucker since 2006. She is fantastic.... but the staff and nurses are worse than employees at the DMV or SS office. I dread making a phone call to the north office. They are never properly staffed, never helpful or professional. Pros: Dr. Brucker Cons: Everything else more

Fantastic Doctors! Fantastic Practice! 11/22/2009

I have been going to Arvada Peds since Aug 2006 when my first was born. Both of my girls' primary doctor is Dr. Michael. He is so sweet and gentle with them. He is knowledgeable and is not in a rush to just medicate my kids. Every medical issue we have had, he approaches it calmly and takes his time to get it right! We have seen almost every doctor and PA there and I cannot say a bad word about anyone. I always get a call back within 30 to 40 minutes and they are always willing to get me in if my child is sick, unlike other doctors who tell you to go to the ER and waste money. Pros: Knowledgable staff more

A terrible experience 8/19/2009

Our daughter was a patient of Michael Starbuck. She was often not seen by the MD but a PA. We brought her in several times in one month complaining of swollen and painful lymph nodes, and other issues. They were not concerned. Fortunately an x-ray technician at TCH recognized and caught leukemia in her bone marrow. Arvada Pediatrics never even called to ask how she was doing after she was diagnosed and spent a week in the hospital. We have since changed pediatricians, and even getting records transferred has been a problem. At Children's Hospital, they told us that they are always impressed when a pediatrician catches this diagnosis. I know that I want my kids seen by an impressive MD. Cons: Missed a serious diagnosis more

Best in Town 4/28/2009

I have been taking my kids to Arvada Pediatrics & Dr. Michael Starbuck since 1998. I have followed him thru 3 different offices. He is AWESOME! I have a special needs child that requires frequent office visits and have never had a problem. As with any doctor's office you may experience extended waiting room times every now and then, but for the most part things are on time. The office staff has been nothing but wonderful and I have always received a call back from either the doctor or nurse within a few hours. I don't know what I would do without the Starbuck's. Thanks Michael! Pros: Great Office and Doctors more

Great Doctors and staff 10/27/2008

We have seen all of the doctors and physicians assistants at Arvada North and they have all been wonderful with our daughter. My daughter had recurring ear infections so we were at the doctor frequently her first year. The staff is friendly and has always been able to get us in same day for illness. I'm a first time parent and have called frequently with questions and the nurses have always been great about getting back to me in a timely manner and thoroughly answering my questions. more

Horrible Service 9/30/2008

We used to tak e our four boys years ago to Dr. Michael Starbuck. They moved their location, our first appointment we were lost and because we were so late they had us reschedule. We called back to reschedule for out youngest and they stated it was their policy not to reschedule should you miss and appointment. Our three other kids had already been seen there (they could not even get two appointments together) which meant we had to switch all of our children (we were not going to keep the other three boys at a different Dr).\r \r The times we went there withthe other three we waited for over an hour. Dr. Michael in the past was at least fun with the kids, cant say the same as he had no enthusiasm whatsoever during the appointments. When we switched my husband called to see if the doctor would return a phone call and he never returned any messages we left for him. \r \r We switched to Indian Crest Pediatrics, they are fast, freindly with a plesant kids friendly wait area. \r \r I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND APA TO ANYONE!! =( more

Excellent 9/13/2006

Dr. Noel is the best! She is wonderful with both of my children. She is gentle, knowledgable and very kid friendly. As a mom herself she fully understands the trials and tribulations of being a mom. She is always positive and has lots of great ideas and tips for parents and kids. The office is great, very little waiting time and the rest of the staff is very good as well. Pros: Short wait times, wonderful phone nurse, friendly Cons: Phones can be busy. more

Great w/kids, friendly staff, knowledgable peds practice 8/7/2006

Dr. Michael and staff are great! They are very kid friendly, treat each child individually, and are very thorough. We are never rushed through appointments. They are great at scheduling ample time so that the doctor will spend quality time on your concerns w/o rushing or making other patients wait too long. We have had great experiences with all the staff at Arvada Pediatrics. Dr. Michael excels at making a child feel at ease and comfortable while ensuring that he is thorough with each child's exam. My children actually look forward to their next visit at the office. \r Pros: kid friendly office and staff, offers free info pamphlets appropriate w/ child's age, returns calls in timely manner Cons: phone lines can be busy at peak times (i.e. Monday morning) more

Talk about kid friendly 11/9/2005

Dr. Michael is awesome. I moved here from California where we had an HMO and the pediatrician was so cold and distant, but I felt an immediate connection between my child and Dr. Starbuck the minute he walked into the examining room. My daughter is pretty shy, but he made her laugh and feel pretty comfortable in a not so comfortable environment. Pros: friendly, helpful, supportive Cons: busy more

Dr. Michael ROCKS! 8/9/2005

Dr. Michael is AWESOME with kids! He takes the time to explain things to the kids, and he also respects their feelings and fears!!! I wouldn't take my kids anywhere else!! Pros: Friendly Staff, AWESOME w/KIDS!, Work with Parents more
