I have been looking for the perfect salon for years and I finally found it at Arte! I was recommended to see Disa by a friend, who always has great hair, and now I see why! Disa was able to fix years of bad highlights, giving me a beautiful soft blonde. She also managed to let me keep my length while still giving my hair a much better shape with some really cute bangs! The music was great, I was able to unwind with a glass of wine, and just felt completely comfortable my entire visit starting with the receptionist. Well, I am a follower of Freddie ever since he cut my unruly curly hair on the street in 2004. I tracked him down after that and now he's at Arte. He's simply the best! He'll consult with you and work his magic scissorhands. He actually trains your hair to grow out a certain way. I have never loved my haircuts until Freddie. I was incredibly unhappy with my hair for about a year and a half after some bad dye jobs and hair cuts but I had sort of gotten used to the idea that my hair would always just be a little blaaah. it was a dirty blonde almost shoulder length bob with some terrible side swept bangs which were a result of WAY too heavy bangs I had last summer. there was breakage everywhere from my old platinum hair and my stick straight shiny hair of the past was now straight in the back wavy/kinky/frizzy on the sides and dull looking. I decided to bite the bullet and chose arte and tim at the last minute. tim was a little odd at first but I highly appreciated how he really seemed to care about my hair's history, what I found beautiful, and what I was looking for out of this haircut. I told him I wanted something I didn't have to style so my hair could get healthier again. I mentioned the idea of bangs and wanting to keep the length I had worked so hard for with the rest of my hair. he finally convinced me to take off about an inch more than I wanted to and took my bangs from my mouth to my eyebrows. when he said I wouldn't have to style it I tstill hought maybe some light blowdrying with a brush but he was SERIOUS. he lliterally put some shaping paste/gel into my hair and scrunched it a little then let it dry. he gave me a cut PERFECT for my hair. my bangs literally dry stick-straight while the rest of my hair dries into perfect waves and curls with just a little scrunching. I have NEVER recieved so many compliments about my hair in my entire life. people from work didn't even recognize me and everyone asked me where I got my hair done. I am an 18 year old girl who works for urban outfitters and is around a very vein-shallow crowd most of the time so you know if I impressed them the cut reallly must be great. I can't rave about Tim enough. he completely gave me my self confidence back and I have never loved my hair so much in my entire life! GO SEE TIM! I followed Disa to Arte from her last salon, because she always gives me the best haircuts. Her attention to detail is amazing and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair! The fact that Arte is such a beautiful Salon with such a warm inviting energy is just icing on the cake! Pros: Disa, atmosphere, location Cons: can't think of any! more

This was my second cut with Tim and yet again he gave me the cut I have been looking for all my life!\r Yes Virginis there is a Santa Claus and his name is Tim! What he did was to refine and continue to shape my hair. This time was even easier to handle. What amazes me is the time Tim took with my hair. \r I love the feeling of the salon as well. I met the most wonderful assistant to Tim. I forgot her name,I believe she is Japanese. What a shampoo and scalp massage. This assistant then produced a cappacino to rival any cafe. This salon is an oasis in a noisy, busy city. And with all of this I look great!\r Tim is truly one of the best in the business. So my sister found the salon due to Allure magazines recommendation. I went in not knowing what I really wanted - which is unlike me. So I was just going to play it safe and just clean up what I already had (long layers and fringy bangs). Well when I met Tim I instantly liked him and he was just finishing up my sisters hair and she looked incredible! So I was pretty hyped up.. and he suggested I get a choppy layer and thicken up my bangs. I trusted him and he did an AMAZING job. He really took his time and made sure everything looked great. And honestly everywhere I go my friends, co-workers, etc. all say they absolutely love it. I'll def. be coming back to him for a long time. Pros: Everyone was very nice. more

Everyone raves about Tim...let me tell you something. I went to get my haircut by him with pictures and even went as far to bring someone with me as a visual reference that has the haircut I want. Tim ignored everything I asked for and I left with 4 inches lopped off and a blunt, uneven do. I decided to go back and let him try to fix it and left 2 inches shorter and a bad step layer. The haircut is awful and I couldn't be more unhappy. Tim doesn't listen, and I'm shocked that he has a single client. If you want the worst haircut ever, I recommend Tim. A few of my closest friends have been working here for years and I live 1 block away but for some reason, I never made it over there to get my haircut. I finally went to get my haircut from Tim and he was amazing!!! Probably the best haircut I have ever had and I worked at an upscale hair salon for 7 years!!! He starts off by getting to know you, the industry you are in, your interests and then he works his magic. He takes his time and is so meticulous that it feels like he literally cuts each strand one by one. If you have not been to Tim, you have no idea what a good hair day is! more

I've been following Tim around to get my hair cut for 5 years and won't trust anyone else to touch my hair. First, the cuts are amazing. Second, the way the cut grows out is equally amazing...I have medium length hair and can easily go 6 months between haircuts and my hair still looks great. Tim gets to know your hair and gives such a quality cut that there is no need to get it re-shaped every 2 months. Finally, Tim takes his time with each cut and makes you feel like your tresses are the most important in the world. Can't beat that kind of pampering!!! more

Alli can say is, Fredi, Fredi, Fredi!! I have random people stopping me on the street asking me where i cut and color my hair, and that never happened to me before. So trust me, just make an appointment with Fredie next time and enjoy! more

Fredi Torres is more like a hair artist. I have never seen anyone cut hair like this. It was my first experience at Arte. My friend has been seeing him for years. He sculpted my locks into the most manageable cut I have ever had. I am so happy to be able to wash and go and look edgy and modern. Finally I have found a stylist!! Getting my hair cut used to be a very unpleasent experience. I was never sure what I wanted and felt like no one could help me figure it out. That's all changed since I started going to Amy. The first haircut she gave me was by far the best I ever had and since then she has delivered fantastic results everytime. In addition to being a skilled stylist Amy has a funny, warm disposition that makes her a pleasure to be around. I would not dream of going to anyone else. more

I have been going to Arte Salon for a few years now, and have to say that I always had a good experience there. But ever since Magda started cutting hair there, I fell in love. Anytime I go there, I am treated like a princess, I feel home and welcome, not to mention that I look like a movie star after Magda has done her magic. I am very conservative f it goes to my haircut, cause I do not like to torture my hair and treat it with a lot of product, and since it's very fine, I also don't like to style it too much. Her haircut lasts forever and grows naturally, too. Magda always listens to my suggestions, and has ideas on her own - like today, she wanted to go for a ""Heidi Klum"" look. I went for it and could not believe the transformation: I look sophisticated, my hair is very dramatic straight as a wire (plus I love blond highlights and bangs) and sassy! Magda is my girl and I hope she's going to keep working there, she's such a great asset to the Arte crew. more

Ever since I can remember I've always wanted to be blond...and I mean blond. I used to pray at night, God please make me blond, please make me blond. Well my prayers were finally answered four years ago when a friend introduced me to a stylist/ colorist by the name of Fredi Torres, who I have loyally followed around the city like a puppy dog to its master. Not only has he perfected the art of color but he can cut like a Picasso. His ascetic is modern, fresh and beautiful. His edginess is raw without looking like you've landed in an outdated generation. I always leave the salon craving the next experience. Finally, someone who gives me a reason to spend $300 on my hair while other top of the line salons have left me saying...what? I could've gotten a better job done in the highlands of South Dakota for a fraction of the cost. more

Tim does an amazing job of cutting hair, period. I can?t go on enough about how much I appreciate Tim?s attention to detail. I recommended him to a friend last week who raved about the cut afterwards. I have been seeing him for over four years and I keep thinking that it?s just a matter of time before his talents are discovered and he becomes to famous for me to afford. I highly recommend him! Hi. FUNNY ENOUGH I was in the chair next to deswar when she came in to see Tim for a haircut. I was a new customer at the salon getting my hair colored. While waiting for my colorist to mix the color, I was observing and listening in on what Tim had to say about deswar's hair. I noticed she came in with a ""soccer mom"" haircut which did not flatter her face at all, I could tell she went somewhere else and had a bad experience. Tim politely picked her bag off the floor and placed it on the station. He paid close attention to what she had to say. I especially remember that she didn't want a haircut she had to spend a lot of time styling and agreed with him that it needed to be blended. He suggested that in order to achieve a low maintenance stylish look, she should work with her natural wave. She seemed very excited and agreed that it was worth a shot. He seemed confident and polite all through the cut and felt very positive about what he was doing. After I came back from being shampooed I was just in time to see the final outcome and IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, the cut not only fit her, but also made her look a lot younger! The amazing thing is that he didn't even take any length off! just blended it, which is exactly what she agreed to. I don't know what her problem is but she had NO RIGHT to say any of that! As a single mom, I have never ever spent this much $$ on a haircut but wanted to get it done right rather than budget- so this was important to me. I felt I did my research well, with positive recommendations from friends and online re: haircuts and dye. However I got there and seemed to be taken for granted, I felt being a bit older and a bit less fashionable that I was marginalized. Tim cut my hair and did not seem to listen to what I was aiming for. I much preferred my hair before i came in. I ended with embarrassingly short , weird bangs - my coworkers looked away and said well, "" at least it will grow back"". Admittedly, I saw a woman next to me who ended up with an amazing haircut.
