Art Of Modern Dentistry - Lakeview Office

I found this place by chance one day on my way to visit a family member that lives 2 blocks away. I figured it would be nice to be able to have a dentist that was also close to my job because I work an odd shift and downtown. Everyone in the office was very friendly. They really proved themselves when my insurance refused to pay for my visit. They stayed on top of the situation until it was finally taken care of. Most places would have given up and made the patient pay out of pocket but they worked and fwon. I had my first root canal with them and was scared to death. Awesome job...no pain! more

I have always had a hyperactive, extremely sensitive gag reflex, so going to the dentist has always been one of my least favorite things in the entire world. I have been known to throw up multiple times during exams and cleanings because of that, so ordinarily, I go barely once per year, and only then because I know I have to. However, I recently switched to Art of Modern Dentistry after chipping a tooth that needed emergency treatment. They were able to take me in at their location on Southport and Barry Avenues right away for the exam and did the repair in no time at all. Pros: Better than any dentist I've been to in literally every way. Cons: None whatsoever! more

Always upselling, reviews of uncessary cavities have me nervous - my first visit supposedly had four after not having any for years. My coworker had the same experiece. \r \r After tonight's appointment, no longer trust them. Was upsold to a deep cleaning which I utimately rejected due to it not being covered 100%. \r \r Shady like a used car dealership - not reassuring with the needles, scraping, and drilling. Going to look for a new dentist. more

Having not visited a dentist in over 20 years I was finally forced to go due to sever dental problems. I arrived at the South Loop location about 10 minutes prior to my appointment and, after filling out the preliminary forms, was in the dentist's chair within 15 minutes. Sensing my anxiety the staff took the time to allay my fears by explaining to me how much the dental profession has changed over the last 20 years. They listened to my concerns, and patiently explained the procedures they would perform that day. It also helped to watch the video in the waiting area that detailed various dental problems and treatments.\r \r I'm looking forward to my next visit and will keep you posted on my experience.\r \r Phillip B more

The Art of Modern Dentistry's new South Loop locale, 1339 S. Michigan Ave., takes oral health care to a new level of luxury. It is like a spa for your teeth. The swanky space is replete with candles and a waterfall. As you sit in the chair, mouth agape, scenes from Animal Planet play on overhead screens...I couldn't believe it. I was referred by a good friend that lives in the South Loop neighborhood. He and his whole family have been patients of the practice for a number of years. So, considering my extreme anxiety of dentists, I wanted to go to a place that comes highly recommended! WOW!!Never could I have imagined the first class service that I received in this absolutely breathtaking dental office. Everything from the first phone call, to the text reminder, to the amazingly kind staff, and of course the dentist, blew my mind away! This dentist charged me several hundred dollars for a routine dental examination that was covered in full by my insurance. It took several phone calls to clear up the matter....or so I thought, until they randomly charged my credit card without authorization. Avoid this practice at all costs, and if you do have the misfortune of visiting this dentist, carefully check all bills and statements to your insurance. This place sounds great, but actually on a few visits I have had some unpleasant experiences. The wait for an appointment scheduled at 8:00 am was an hour. This is before she even began. Also no parking available. Secondly, they overbill so that your insurance will say you exceeded your amount and begin to send you a bill despite it having been covered services. They are all about making big bucks,not much sincerity, and the receptionist sandra is not friendly, behaving as if she is doing you a favor. more

A couple of years back I needed some general dentistry work done. So, I went to the dentist office that looked the best from the outside (how rational is that?) and was close to where I live. Even after moving to a different neighborhood earlier this year, I still continue going back to Dr. Daftary at the Art of Modern Dentistry. Why? The office is fresh, clean, friendly, comfortable, etc. More importantly, I feel she's suggesting only the dental work that truly needs to be done. Per my experiences over the past 8 years in the city, getting an honest opinion from a dentist is sometimes hard to find! Not only does the Art of Modern Dentistry offer general dentistry, but, I also felt comfortable having some cosmetic work done recently. Invisalign, Veeners, Zoom Teeth Whitening, Crest White Strips from the grocery aisle? It's daunting trying to figure out what's right for your smile, but, I trusted what I was told here and am extremely happy with the results. Highly Recommend this office! Pros: my smile! :-) more
