I made an appointment through Lifebooker on a whim (it was close to my office, so I could run out on my lunch break). Destiny and the woman who washed my hair (whose name I can't remember, unfortunately) were both very friendly. Destiny listened to what I wanted, explained what she was doing as she went along, asked how I felt about using various products on my hair before doing so, and gave me exactly what I wanted. I was so happy with how my hair looked when I left the salon. Almost a week later, I've been so pleased with how good my hair looks even with minimal styling. I'd definitely go back at full price the next time I need a haircut! more

I know what I want when it comes to my haircut (short, pixy, with long bangs) and all of the previous hairdressers never quite got it right. I have followed Rena from Salon to Salon for almost 20 years. She is the BEST! Everyone who works in the salon is great too. Rena is amazing with color. She takes time to listen to what you want and knows what will work for you whether it's conservative or trendy. Overall fantastic experience. Destiny is an excellent stylist and gave me the perfect cut and color to suit my personality. She asked what I was looking for, acknowledged my input, concerns and put effort into getting just the look I wanted while still making it funky and totally different. I won't go to anyone else. Cute little salon in East Village where I can get eyebrow waxed during the hair appointment. Now all there products are eco friendly which is great to know. Destiny did a beautiful job cutting and coloring my hair. I was a little nervous to get highlights in my hair but she was very cautious and understanding of my neurotic-ness. She did a divine job and i am extremely pleased with my new luscious locks. If you want your hair to be precisely what you have in mind, have Destiny cut or color your hair. Rena, the owner of Arena, has been cutting my hair for more than 10 years. She is wonderful with curly hair and is always right on key with her cuts. I have been going to Rena for 3 years. I have always had blond highlights but could never grow my hair long because it always looked damaged (and was!) past a certain length. Not only does Rena use the most gentle products for color, but she also taught me the key to healthy hair...DON'T wash it everyday! Walked in off the street last week and met Rena and she sat down with me, and we discussed options with color, dealng with the dryness and gray hair. Made an appointment for the following day. Rena told me that she had thought about my hair and repaired my hair and cut it. She took three hours with me and when I walked out, I really felt like I had been taken care of by a family member - she is that thoughtful, caring and really knows her color. I appreciate the years of experience she brings with her and her knowledge of the business. She also knew the keeping the youthfulness of my color was important and I really appreciated how she didn't push her thoughts on me and allowed me to feel very comfortable. It was my second time getting my hair highlighted by Arnulfo and I have to say he does a truly amazing job. I'm blond, and i tend to hate when blond highlights are very obvious. I told Arnulfo exactly what i wanted (bright, beachier blond without the chunkiness of normal highlights) and he gave me just that; amazing highlights that brightened up my hair without making it look fake. I have gotten tons of compliments on the color, and even people in the street ask me 1) if my color is natural, 2) who did it. more
