Every spring and every fall hundreds of bluegrass fans gather at the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Company’s fair grounds for some good old fashioned picking and grinning. Now, Arcadia is not big, and it is not super famous, but it is great just the same! This fall Larry Sparks is on the roster. Last spring Rhonda Vincent kept us entertained. (In case you don’t know they are big bluegrass names.) But, the local talent is nothing to sneeze at either; Satyr Hill Band, Country Gentlemen, Carroll County Ramblers, and many more. Camp for the weekend to get the real bluegrass experience – the after hour armatures are often better than the headliners. It doesn’t matter if it is raining – someone always has an awning for you to duck under – and the central hall is perfect for the daily performers.
