I've had the misfortune being forced to use Apria Heathcare for nearly 10 years. My insurance company doesn't offer any other choices. In the dozens of contacts I have had with them there hasn't been a single time they haven't screwed up, and that's no exaggeration. They've shown up unannounced at my door, billed me incorrectly, set up my the technical configuration of my order incorrectly, failed to return phone calls, told me they have an item in stock that isn't when I arrive to pick it up, given me blatantly false information about my insurance coverage and much more. It is astounding to me that they are still in business. It is further astounding that they have been so consistently incompetent for so many years. It's so bad that I dread having to deal with them. When I do so I know I will have a fight on my hands even to do something as simple as ordering a single item. Stay away if you can. more

STAY AWAY !!!! Horrible service 1/6/2011

I have a CPAP sleep apnea machine. They have billed me 3 different times for supplies I never ordered or received. Took me 6 months to get one of the statements straighten out. Now I have a bill for I don't know what. Told them to remove the charges last month, but they sent me a bill for it again this month telling me it was 60 days past due. They have sent me the wrong mask, and it will not work with my machine. It kept turning it off in the middle of the night. It took me 3 weeks to get it replaced. I had to order it 3 times. They kept telling me nothing had been ordered. I told them to stop sending me supplies in the mail. I would go to their office and pick it up. I would call and ask if they had it and they would say yes and the bill was all prepared so I could just walk in and pick it up. Every time they would make me wait 45 - 60 minutes before someone would bring it out to me. They told me I was renting the machine and not buying it and when I switched insurance companies I would have to return it.That was an outright lie. My insurance company said it was paid off and I don't have to return it. It has been one huge headache. Thank goodness I have changed insurance companies and hopefully don't have to deal with them any more.... once I get this last billing fiasco straightened out!!! more

Regarding Feeding Tube supplies & pump 5/15/2009

The Kangaroo Joey pump is easy to use & works well. The feeding tube bags & tubing are also user friendly. However, customer service ranges from fair to poor! I needed tech support when the tubing developed a glitch one night. By the time I reached the person who told me someone would call me back, and then waited 45 minutes for the call, I figured out the solution myself. Very difficult to reach a the right customer service person you need; then you have to repeat your problem again- sometimes over & over! They got my doctor's orders screwed up badly. This, making it a huge problem to get adequate supplies shipped to my home- complicated by having to deal with inflexible representitives totally incapable of listening to logic. You must order certain minimum supplies. For example, You must order at least a case of "formula" even you you may only need a few more cans. And then, when you're done, you don't get to return unused supplies or get credit for them. They just encourage you to donate them. If your hospital case manager or doctor's office is setting up your tube feeding company for you, say "NO" to Apria! more

APRIA HEALTHCARE IS THE WORST... STAY AWAY... 6/12/2008

We had to order a billy blanket for my newborn daughter and the doctor sent the order to these nincompoops. They somehow misplaced the order form and the blanket never arrived. This was when my daughter was 4 days old and the doctor was very concerned that she receive the blanket. So you cna understand the frustration we had to go through. I was put on hold for 3 hours(yeah believe it....) for after hours support and they could not locate the fax from the doctor. Finally we gave up on it and let the doctor deal with it the next day. The blanket arived the next day almost 24 hours late. Unfortunately, our troubles with this company did not end there. On the day they were suposed to collect the blanket they billed me for one more day than we actually had the blanket. I poiinted this out and the custoimer service said it will revise the claim to my insurance company. And guess what, they did bill me the new claim but forgot to cancel the other claim. So I got billed twice for the same service. I tried calling them but as usual had to wait for 30-45 minutes each time to hear a human voice. And each operator denied that they were for the same dates of service(One lady was even shameless to say " Why do you care even if its double-billed? its your insurance that has to pay this right?") And after being bumped from "billing expert" to "claims Expert" to some other expert, it finally took me 4 hours to sort the damn thing out. If had a choice, I would give them a rating of -100. Save your time and energy and dont deal with Apria healthcare. I heard from other palces on the web that they are very under-staffed and under-paid and thats the reason for the poor customer service. But whatever the reason is, I am never going to deal with this company again in my life. more

Driver makes up records 2/4/2007

Maria:. My Father uses Oxigen as needed, I notice the big tank was empty , I called Apria and they said that the records showed that the tank was filled two days before and every two weeks before that, what a surprise I had, being my father's caregiver I have no seen the employee from apria every two weeks only once a month! and no paying much attention to what I said the guy on the phone said he will send somebody on the same day , well nobody came to fill the tank I call the next morning to please send somebody to fill the tank so I can take my father to his doctor's appt.and they did, I asked to talk to the manager and explain the problem ,the lady on the phone took my name and phone number telling me that the manager will return my call in 24 hrs. well it has been a week and still waiting for the manager to call me back. Of course their records show that the driver comes on time every two weeks and fills the tank , so they can charge for the services. Please check on your own services from this company ask for records, specially if you have your aged parents using these services,make sure they are getting what they have been charging. more

Great company to rent a breast pump from... 7/29/2005

After I gave birth to my first baby, I had trouble breastfeeding. In the meantime, I needed to pump my milk so I wouldn't feel engorged. With breastpumps being so expensive, I couldn't afford to buy one at the time. So my hospital referred me to Apria Healthcare. They delivered a breast pump right to my door and let me rent it for as long as I needed it. That was very helpful. Their prices are reasonable and they do all of the delivering and picking up. After all, after you have a baby, its harder to find time to run errands, thats why it helped a lot. Apria also rents and delivers other home medical equipment. They do outstanding service, always on time, and their staff and workers and very friendly. more
