Applebee's

This restaurant is Applebees in the hood. The people are hard working good folks who are there trying to make a living. Many of the people who come into this restaurant come in after 10pm so they can get cheap drinks and 1/2 price appetizers. Many of these folks are the welfare entitled and they come in acting like they were raised in a barn. They come looking to complain and looking for something free and they act like they were raised in a barn. As far as tips - $2.13 cents an hour for the wait staff....and many times this is considered their privilege to wait on the customers. As they are left nothing, or mere pennies for standing on their feet and working like crazy for hours on end. The food is good here. I eat here often, but not late at night. Basically ignore Rocky Mount Restaurants in general....as Rocky Mount is the City on the decline. more

They do not have enough wait staff to keep things moving. Our dinner took entirely too long. There were tons of empty tables but we could not be seated because they only had 4 waitors in the entire place. Then, it took way to long for the food to come out. They advertise a special 3-course menu for $9.99 but there are NO choices. There is only ONE that is actually $9.99. THEN, to top it off, they ran out of ice cream - - - which is 1/2 of the dessert included in the $9.99. How do you run out of ice cream when that is what you are advertising and then not warn you before you order the 3- course meal. By then, you're already stuck paying the whole amount even though they don't have what you ordered. This is the second consecutive time I've had terrible service at an Applebees (other in Raleigh). Both were entirely due to understaffing, rather than the wait staff's fault. I will not be returning. Pros: Good atmosphere Cons: Terrible Service more
