Excellent Experience 11/13/2010

I have been renting a home from Apple for the past seven years. It has been nothing but a pleasure. When I first moved in, I didn't have all the up front money, and they let me move in and pay the portion I didn't have in payments over the first few months. The house was clean, with new carpets..and the rent was very fair. Anytime I've had a maintenance issue, someone has been sent out immediately, and I have never been charged for any repairs. I have dealt with Lisa Dankers, the owner, on a few occasions and found her and her staff to be really friendly and willing to help with any concerns I've ever had.. Times I've had trouble getting rent together, Lisa has been totally understanding, and willing to work with me to get caught up. My rent has not been raised once in seven years. and I would, and have recommend Apple to anyone looking for a home. more

First Good Review?? 7/21/2009

So, it looks like I was the only person to have ever had a positive experience with Apple Properties. We rented a four bedroom home in Queen Anne for $2200/mo. and never had a single issue with the company. They fixed our garbage disposal and shower with no questions asked and even let some of the roomies pay late on occasion free of charge. After the lease was up, we were required spend our own money to clean the carpets and blinds (~$200) and then apple refunded the entire $2000 deposit. When I move back to Seattle I would look at Apple's listings first. Pros: Full deposit refund!! Cons: Very few rental homes more

If its not too late, turn and run from these guys. They are the worst property management company I've ever encountered, BY FAR. Do not do business with them. If I could give Apple Property Management a negative rating I would. I rented from them for years. My experiences consistently echo what has already been written. The office staff are incompetent, and I think afraid of Dankers. Never followed through with anything they said they were going to. The way they calculate things like prorated days is highly questionable. And the idea of getting your deposit back is laughable--it's all fiction people! Pros: They have property to rent. Cons: Incompetence, abusive and consistently no follow through more

Beware 7/15/2008

Worst experience I have ever had. Lisa Dankers was completely rude and unethical. When I disupted illegal charges after I moved out, she did not respond to my communications but referred me to a credit collection agency. I hired a lawyer and had the charges reduced -collection company agreed wholeheartedly with our argument-but it still adversely affected my credit. I also had to leave my lease early but found a responsible tenant who passed the security check and credit report with flying colors. My replacement was so disgusted with Lisa's lack of communication and rudeness that she decided not to take the apartment (Lisa made my friend cry she was so rude to her)and I was stuck with the last few months rent after all. When I disputed this as well she lied to the lawyer and collection agency and said that my replacement did not pass credit check. This was a blatant lie as she had already told both of us that the application was approved. All of this after they broke my first lease early. The owner of my first apartment lost the property. I had to spend quite a bit on movers as there was very little notice yet this was not even considered when I had to leave my second apartment early. I always felt that I should not have had to sign an additional year after I had fulfilled 5 months of the contact with my first apartment. However, they had me over a barrel with so little time to find a place to live. I could go on and on but I hope you will beware. more

Terrible service and completely unethical business practices 4/27/2007

We recently rented a house that APM was managing. Worst experience we have ever had!! Never returned phone calls and didn't show up for scheduled appointments. No respect for tenant's rights or what is right under the law. They will take your money and bully you around, so you don't feel like you have a right to fight for yourself. The property manager, Lisa Dankers, is completely unprofessional and greedy. She literally screamed at us in our front yard because we said we would not pay the illegal fees she was trying to charge. She took the fees out of our deposit anyway and has given us no choice but to fight in court if we want our money back. Their lease agreement is very vague and broad --basically says if you do anything wrong they can take all of your security deposit and then some without justification. Seriously, go with a more reputable company. Pros: NONE!!! Cons: houses are nice, but they charge way too much. Unprofessional staff. Very high fees. more

RUN the other way! 4/19/2007

I have lived next door to a property managed by them in a nice neighborhood. There were a multitude of problems with the tenants (apparent dealers), and the property itself (lawns not mowed - weeds out of control - broken windows not replaced for months - garbage strewn across the backyard - a fence that literally fell over into the yard next door (and no response at all from Apple when they were told this happened and were asked to repair it). In general, those of us who live in this neighborhood think that Apple Management is among the most irresponsible and reprehensible businesses in the region. And the former reviewer really got it right! Their communication is the worst! So - from either a tenant perspective - or a neighbor perspective - this is a company I would go to great lengths to steer clear of. I wish they would learn from their mistakes and live up to at least some of the lofty verbage on their website. That would be good. more

Could they try returning phone calls???? 10/10/2006

I also rent from Apple Property Mgmt. I've been a tenant for a few years and always pay rent on time. It's like pulling teeth whenever you need something from them. My property manager is HORRIBLE at returning phone calls... When you finally get ahold of him he seems like you're inconviencing him, and he always makes it seem like you're blowing things out of proportion... ""Your toilet's leaking... just don't use it""... ""Your light fixture blew and you smell smoke? Just leave it off and we'll send someone out in a few days"". They ARE a bunch of clowns. I rent from them, and any time I need repairs, I have to call over and over again. Once I even had to write a formal business letter, stating that I knew my rights under Tenant's Law and would be taking appropriate steps. That worked, but it shouldn't have to be like that. Even when we first signed the lease, we had to call them multiple times to get the deal done! I mean for God's sake, it was like they didn't want my money!
