My top dollar was $6,000, and I realized very quickly that they did not have many GIA cert diamonds, and instead, sold EGL certs at GIA prices. \r \r My fiance picked out a great looking solitaire round cut diamond ring, but when we began looking through their systems for a diamond, nothing was in our price range. Determined to stick to my price range, I let them know that I would go ahead and buy the ring, and would begin looking for a diamond elsewhere as well as checking back with them to see what they had in stock. After about 5 months of diamond hunting, I found a beautiful GIA 1ct H color SI2 Diamond that was perfect for our price range.\r \r I brought the diamond to a local jeweler in my hometown (I live 3 hours away from San Antonio), and had them set the diamond. My husband and I had an amazing experience at Americus Diamond!! We were in the market for a wedding set upgrade for our 10 year anniversary. My husband did research for months before deciding on Americus. The selection was huge and the choices were endless. Fortunately, we had a good idea of what we wanted and were quickly able to narrow our search. more

My fiancé bought me a 1.5 carat diamond ring a few years back. The diamond is now chipped where the prong is located. This means that the several inspections that were done over the past few years were for nothing. The sales staff was completely rude and were not willing to resolve the matter. They stated that they would give me credit but not for 1.5 carats/10K. Like we originally paid only 1.0/ 5K. Please know that I am an experienced shopper at higher end stores and have never experienced such unacceptable service. Take your well earned money somewhere else. more

I was first referred to Americus Diamond 6 years ago by my older brother and his wife. They said Americus offered the best value and service. A year ago, my girlfriend and her mother stopped in and she found the ring ?that she?s always wanted.? Americus entered the ring into their system which made the ring selection process flow rather smoothly. I have since been into Americus Diamond twice and was treated with respect and patience, which I appreciate since a decision of this magnitude should not be rushed. After being helped by four different salespeople, I found the diamond to go with my loves ring. I feel fortunate to have the chance to propose to my future wife with a ring she desires and I already have it in her size since Americus got the information, too. I know I bought this symbol of commitment at a great price, unrushed and with all the help and diamond information I needed. Thank you Americus!! more

We came to Americus Diamond after seeing the ad on KSAT 12 numerous times. My husband went two weeks ago to check things out. A salesperson recommended my husband should bring his wife first before making any final decisions. So, we passed by there today. I had seen a specific ring I liked but didn't see a ring that matched what I had seen in the ad. Luckily, I found a ring with an extra wide band- but , I didn't like the shape of the diamond. Our salesman found the exact size and shape I wanted and within 3 hours, I was walking out of Americus Diamond with a wonderful ring and we didn't break the bank with the great price. I never take the time to write reviews but this was the most awful experience I have ever had, I was in the store today ring shopping with a girlfriend and i left the store and came back and not once could i get a sales associate to show me a ring\r \r I do not know if this is because i did not have my boyfriend with me or if they are just that rude but they lost at least a ten thousand dollar sale and from previious posters it appears that i am not the only one with this experience\r \r Save yourself the frustration and spend your hard earned money someplace that will value you as a customer more

When it came time for us to shop for a diamond engagement ring, we went to Americus diamond, who a few friends had recommended. It was a great experience. Jason, the sales representative, was very informative and helped us find the exact ring and diamond. It was very low pressure. We then went to other retailers. No one came close to the selection or price that Americus Diamond had. I will recommend Americus Diamond to any friend or family member looking for an engagement ring! more

OK, so if none of you can tell, many of these reviews are fake! CitySearch accounts are being made and positive reviews are being made up to inflate Americus Diamond's score. Take a look at the suspicious reviews on several of the pages. RED FLAGS: 1. Several Reviews on the same day. 2. Similar usernames like Rick220 or Amy014. 3. Very few exclamation points during the reviews. The writing style is the same. The first reviews are almost all negative. Then, lo and behold, WOW! A bevy of 5 star reviews. Yeah right. We apologize for your experience on Saturday. It is never our intention to overlook anyone. The day you were in was the Saturday before Valentine?s Day. We had all of our staff in the showroom and we were shocked to see so many customers. We waited on more than 500 jewelry shoppers, and we cleaned and checked rings for more than 100 people. It was by far the busiest day of Valentine?s shopping we?ve had in 30 years. more

My husband bought me an engagement ring here 6 years ago and if I didnt have to get my ring cleaned and inspected every six months, I would never step foot in this place. It never fails, I wait 30 minutes to get someones attention, while sales men pass us by and ignore us like we are invisible, they dont even make eye contact. That is just to drop off the ring to get cleaned. This happens every time. But today was worse. I was going to buy my husband the diamond band I promised him 5 yrs ago and asked for a salesman help butnoone ever came but they were available to help a couple just walked in the door 30 seconds ago,literally. I starred at every sales person in place but noone made eyecontact. I cant believe we gave this place $6000 for my ring but this experience remindede not to spend another 5000 to get treated like second class citizens. more

When my husband decided he wanted to ask me to marry him, he wanted to go to several places and I kept pushing for Americus Diamond, having dealt with them before. We walked in, he looked around and never wanted to go to another store again. The associate he dealt with was very friendly and new a lot of information about rings. She taught him quite a bit about quality and more. We will always come back to Americus Diamond and we recommend it ALWAYS. We even told my mom about Americus Diamond and now she is a happy customer, too. more

Our experience has been amazing. We were referred by my parents who are long time customers. My husband began the jorney by looking for my engagement ring. The staff was amazing. They worked with his budget of $2000, and explained in detail the four C's. The Americus Diamond staff helped him make the purchase of a lifetime. We were so impressed that we came back for our bands. Service is always above par. My boyfriend and I were in the market for an engagement ring, so Americus was one of our stops while spending the afternoon browsing different stores. I was overwhelmed by excitement when I walked through the door because there were so many display cases with a huge selection of rings. This was also the first negative experience I had at a jewelry store. more

I bought my wedding set 13 years ago from Americus Diamond. When I brought it in for a minor repair, the sales person told me about the trade-in policy and we started looking for a different style that I wanted. She gave me her card and I left. When I went to pick up my repaired ring, I looked at styles again to trade in (another person showed me the rings). I couldn't decide and I left again. The 3rd time I went in, another associate showed me different rings and I decided on the ""perfect"" ring for me! All 3 associates answered my questions and were very patient. Americus is the only store where I buy my jewelry! Their associates are not paid on commision, nor on the amount that they sell-- this is true customer service at it's best. I've been very happy with my purchases from Americus Diamonds over the years. Their new location off DeZavala is so clean and pleasant. We recently came in to upgrade our ring and we had not one, but two very helpful salespeople. My wife didn't know what shape stone she wanted when we came in, and they were very patient as she tried them all on. We've been recommending this store to our friends for over fifteen years. And what's the deal with this Jabumx10? If you don't want everyone to think you're a liar, then you shouldn't lie! 6 minutes turns into 30 minutes? She's clearly embarrassed that someone actually called her out, but maybe now she'll think twice before she exaggerates. more

I appreciate the fact that Americus Diamond is quicker to reply to comments left online than selling a necklace chain... I would like to point out that you said nothing to the regards of the attitude your associate had with me, which bothered me the most, and I also made a point to point out that previously I had had more than positive experience there before, but the attitude of your associate upset me so much that I actually felt the need to post my poor experience there, and now I am obligated to reply to your comment. I certainly don't wish to be implied as a liar, but misleading other readers to what actually occurred by stating that costumers who cannot believe the poor quality of service they received is nothing but a lie- it's ridiculous! Rather than putting down customers and calling them liars, please correct the errors of mistreating them by not putting them down, or making them wait for something they knew they wanted. Previous customers also point out how they try to 'PROVE' you're lying, and I would not even waste my time going over to see the security video they misquote me on. Thanks to reading posts like these made me realize that the only way I would even get a response from your company is by posting my experience online, I hope that people see how you truly treat your costumers, and if you intend on bettering your customer service you stop putting us down. more
