Sometimes you just got to have a "nice breakfast" and this restaurant in a "historic section" of Atlanta was just right for that. Our friends had ... more

Excellent, home cooking and blue plate specials 3/28/2011

Eaten here hundreds of times (literally) since I moved here in 96 and never had a bad meal. Very consistant and always great service\r \r Only negatives, they get busy and there is often a wait, also the parking situation isn't great.\r \r Bring back the Monte Cristo! more

Quality dropping 11/7/2010

This used to be an awesome place for breakfast but the management must have instructed the kitchen to cut corners, it is no where close to what it used to be. A lot (well, actually every side dish) we ordered appeared to be pre-frozen and not very fresh. And a cup of coffee >$2 should not have grounds in it - ironically the free stuff in the waiting area was far superior. more

tasty cuisine 7/14/2010

I love the their food selection. It was very appetizing. The service was also prompt and the wait staff was very nice. This is one enjoyable way to give yourself a treat. more

It was very gratifying. 7/14/2010

I have heard a lot about this place, so we went ahead and tried it. We ordered their best-sellers and we were truly amazed by its flavor and aroma. It was definitely mouthwatering more

Excellent! 3/14/2010

American Roadhouse was far better than I expected, with extremely reasonable prices and large (but not offensively large) portions. I'm not a huge breakfast person, but given the menu choices it was impossible to not find something I liked. The main breakfast entrees are in the $10 range and come with your choice of three (yes, three) sides. I had the Greek omelet, which was a fluffy mixture of spinach, tomatoes, and feta cheese, with a side of fresh fruit, whole wheat toast, and turkey bacon. The omelet was perfect with just enough spinach, tomatoes, and enough gooey feta to make it feel not quite so healthy, but not overly indulgent either. Other items ordered at the table included a Denver omelet (diced ham, peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese), with cheese grits, a buttermilk biscuit, and pancakes on the side. I LOVE pancakes, but usually find the restaurant variety to be somewhat bland. Not these. Oh, they were a sweet, fluffy, vanilla-tinged stack of joy. I love that the syrup is kept warm and not brought out until and unless you need it. Nothing ruins a warm stack of pancakes more than thick, room temperatures syrup. The syrup here is steaming hot and perfectly melts all the butter I feel obligated to schmear onto the pancakes. \r \r The place also offers a wide range of lunch entrees in additon to all the breakfast items, from salads to sandwiches to blue plate specials. They also serve beer, wine, and stay open on weekends until 4 AM (which is smart given its location smack dab in the middle of bar-heavy Virginia Highlands. I'll definitely be making a return trip or two.) Pros: Crowd Pleaser more

HECTOR is an idiot 4/22/2008

I'm not sure if he was just hungover or what, but Hector was clearly having a bad day. I LOVE ROAD HOUSE! more

Absolutely Terrible! (Hector Verde) 4/15/2008

First and foremost this was perhaps the worst brunch I have ever had to pay for. After a long evening the night before I was desperately needing scrumptious breakfast materials. I could not wait to order four different drinks and 6 plates of anything a la carte. Someone suggested the Roadhouse so we all went along with the program.\r The Roadhouse gets half of the point I graciously gave them for allowing us to call ahead and get us on the list to get a table as soon as we walk in. The restaurant is basically an independent version of any variety of huge corporate eateries that litter exit off ramps on major interstates in suburban cities. The tables, chairs, decor, art, food, silverware, carpet, and even the annoyingly generic audio feed was an obvious pre-packaged abortion that Sysco kicked out of their 53' trailer as they were making their neighborhood deliveries.\r I cannot believe I dared ordering the crab cakes hollandaise. Who do I think I am shoveling this ""food"" into my body, Anthony Zimmern? What is this food actually built with anyway? The english muffins were obviously stale - cardboard. The crab cakes were paper thin and terrible - cardboard. The home fries looked more like dehydrated peaches and had absolutely no seasoning and did not grow from our earth's soil - once again cardboard. Poached eggs - don't even ask. \r The best part and where the other half of a point derives is the hollandaise sauce. They scraped that extra little bit by allowing me to leave their pectic yellow bacteria inseminated gelatinous goo in the petri dish in the bowels of the kitchen. Maybe I should give the whole point to myself for being the smartest person in the establishment by leaving off the hellandaise and not finishing my meal. Yep, think I will. Hector = 1. American Roadhouse = 0.\r \r ---Hector Verde Pros: The exit door. Cons: Everything. more

Great for Brunch! 4/6/2008

My friend and I are always trying to find a new restaurant. We were both in the mood for Brunch so we searched on citysearch and this was highly recommended. The food was fabulous! My friend ordered the Shrimp and Crab omelette and I had some corned beef hash dish. There cheese grits and french toast are to die for. I think the prices here are very affordable and the portions you receive are modest. We will be going back to this location very soon! Pros: food, price Cons: waitress wasn't that attentive more

Learn about Gary Tylock Ripoff Eye Care Center 2/22/2008

Gary Tylock Ripoff Eye Care Center\r I went to Dr.Gary R. Tylock, Tylock Eye Care and Laser Center Dallas Texas after hearing on of their advertisements. My experience there was very negative. I felt like I was being sold a used car by a heavy handed pressure salesman. They also lied about their prices. My vision was terrible after the procedure and was regressing even more with time but Dr.Gary R. Tylock, felt it was not enough to qualify for an enhancement more

great breakfast food, but pricy 1/3/2008

I went with a large group (16 people) and they were able to seat us together. The waiter was great with large group orders, everyone's food came out at the same time. Fresh strawberries were very tasty. Large selection. Price was more than I expected. I parked a few blocks away, which wasn't bad on a beautiful day. Pros: fresh fruits, large group friendly, great skilled staff Cons: price, parking, small waiting area more

Jerry Katzman MD - Signs and diagnosis of frozen shoulder 12/13/2007

\r Physicians have described the normal course of a frozen shoulder as having three stages:\r \r Stage one: In the ""freezing"" or painful stage, which may last from six weeks to nine months, the patient has a slow onset of pain. As the pain worsens, the shoulder loses motion.\r \r Stage two: The ""frozen"" or adhesive stage is marked by a slow improvement in pain, but the stiffness remains. This stage generally lasts four months to nine months.\r \r Stage three: The ""thawing"" or recovery, during which shoulder motion slowly returns toward normal. This generally lasts five months to 26 months.\r \r \r \r more

Great Food! 11/19/2007

My boyfriend and I go here almost every Sunday for Brunch. The food is Great and the service is also great. The only downside is that we have had to wait about 45 minutes every time we go. I normally would not wait that long, but it is completely worth it. The place is always packed and the staff is always friendly. Their biscuits and gravy are some of the best I have had! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area! Pros: Great food and service Cons: Long wait for a table more

A++ Food and Service 3/6/2007

I went with 2 friends for Sunday morning brunch. There was about a 15 minute wait, but what's 15 minutes when you're amongst friends?! :o) The food was definitely worth the wait. The portion sizes were huge. The food was tasty. And I specifically recommend trying the lemonade. I'll go back again and again! Pros: Large Portions! Cons: Wait time. more

great food at a great price 2/21/2007

I agree with what everyone has said: this place isn't Murphy's, but there, you get charged a lot for not very much food. On the contrary, I leave American Roadhouse stuffed every time I go (which is often) and it's quite cheap. The menu's a little bit different on the weekends than it is on the weekdays, but it's all good. On the whole, the servers are very friendly and efficient. Pros: good food, great prices, consistent service Cons: long wait on weekends (sometimes) more

Brunch Spot -- A Sure Thing 2/19/2007

Roadhouse has become one of those sure things in my life. Wine with friends on Friday? Sure thing. Church on Sunday? Sure thing. Brunch out Sunday afternoon? You better believe it and ONLY at American Roadhouse! My entire family has fallen in love with the service and the menu at this typical American diner. \r \r I have tried almost everything and complain about NOTHING except the coffee -- always horrible -- and the fact they do not serve Bloody Mary's. What is brunch without Bloody Mary's or Mimosa's?\r \r I recommend this spot to everyone. Great food. Great service. Great value! Pros: Awesome Food, Awesome Value Cons: Coffee is Horrible more

Delicious brunch! 11/22/2006

Went here for brunch with a big group. We were seated quickly and each enjoyed a delicious cup of coffee and yummy food. The service was efficient and courteous, the food was reasonably priced and scrumptious. Definitely a fun casual must for brunch. Pros: Great value Cons: Parking more

Good brunch 11/3/2006

The brunch here is really good but I haven't tried the regular menu. It's usually busy on weekend mornings but usually worth the wait. Try the jalapenos cheese grits. Yum! more
