My 2000 Ford windstar quit moving on my way to work and had to be towed. Icalled American transmission at 7;00 am and Rick hooked me up with a tow before thh shop was even open. within 15 min. a tow truck picked me up and by 8:00 am they started working on my truck and I had a loaner car. by 5pm the next day my van was ready and the price was a lot less than the Ford dealer!! Rick , Randy, and Stacy are by far "The best in the business." more

Worst experience EVER! 3/19/2012

I will NEVER use American Transmission again. They are a total scam! I took them my car to have a "free diagnosis" and later found out that by free they really meant $450.00. They did the repairs to my vehicle without my permission. I did NOT want them to repair the car, and they ordered and replaced the parts without my consent, and then told me it was going to cost me $2350.00. To top it off, when I finally did get my car back, (a week after they promised to have it returned) it was in worse condition than when I took it in. I had to take it to a second place and have them fix American Transmission's mistakes. I was offended by their lack of integrity and dishonesty, and I will never go back. By far the worst experience I've had with an automotive repair place. more

Very helpful and great to work with! 7/29/2005

The transmission on my car died on a Friday around 5pm, and I called American Transmissions. The owner is extremely helpful and professional and immediately sent out a tow truck (no charge if I used him for repairs), got my car, and did an inspection. They gave me a quote which was higher than I wanted, but worked with me to get it down to what I needed, by using rebuilt parts. They had great communication with me, very quick to respond, and my truck was fixed well. I'm very happy to recommend them! more
