Good food, horrible staff 2/11/2006

My husband and I used to eat at Amedeo's on a regular and consistent basis. The food here is excellent. They offer authentic Italian food. The service here is atrocious though and we ultimately decided to stop patronizing this restaurant because of it. On our last trip here, we waited 45 minutes to be acknowledged by a waiter after being seated. When we complained to the manager, he made no comment. The restaurant was not busy that evening and was about 1/4 full. I wrote the owner of the restaurant a letter about our experience and he did not respond. more

Great Italian Food at Great Prices 8/12/2005

The North Carolina State University theme of this restaurants establishment is visible within the first steps of entering the building. Autographed pictures of football players, famous singers, and NCSU paraphernalia is everywhere you look and the calming atmosphere is wonderful. But the food is even better. They have a wide variety of Italian entrées, desserts, pizzas, and more. The pizza is delicious. The crust is just right, and the service is quick. They also make their own blue cheese dressing, and they sell their sauce by the jar at the cash register. The whole dining experience is great at Amedeos. more

Not what I expected 8/12/2005

The atmosphere in here is rather cozy, but I was not overly impressed with the food. I expected a much more authentic Italian experience and my food was just okay. The wine was slightly overpriced in my opinion for what seemed like boxed wine. I had a good time overall, however it was more due to the company I was with, rather than the food and service. more

  • Amedeo's Italian restaurant was founded in 1963 by Dick DeAngelis. In 2010, the Harris and Byrd family purchased the restaurant and kept the same tradition and recipes. In 2012, the Parker family (Dick's daughter and husband) bought a minority share of the corporation. We take great pride in our homemade Italian recipes, our Nc State theme.
