Food is overpriced and the customer service is horrible! The wait staff was incredibly rude when they delivered a small pizza versus the medium that we ordered. We will never go back! more

Epic Fail - Issaquah Amante's 11/25/2011

I ordered food from Amante's online week before last. I needed delivery because I was sick and couldn't cook. I ordered steamed clams with spicy sausage, mixed seafood penne, and scallop fettuccine. Apparently, the cooks don't know that clams that do not open when cooked are dead, because out of my 9 clams, only 1 was open when I opened the container. I thought woooo... I should let them know that my clam appetizer had dead clams. I called and was told to speak with a manager. A young woman came to the phone and after hearing my complaint, she told me I was wrong. That clams come frozen and they are all closed and that closed clams is normal. I stated, closed clams mean you shouldn't eat them because the clam was dead. She scoffed and said she didn't know who I'd been talking to, but the clams come frozen and it's normal for them to be closed. I said, but when you cook them, they should open up! She told me, she wouldn't argue with me about it, and offered to send another order of clams to me, but that they'd probably be the same. I asked for my money back. I never received my $12.99, and my feedback that I left on their facebook page was erased. My advice to anyone reading this... don't eat at this restaurant and I hope the Department of Health, the FDA, and inspectors take note that there are serious issues at this place. NOTE: The Issaquah location is at fault. I don't know about other area Amante places of business. Sidenote: I re-read their menu and discovered the cooks don't know their own recipes. The mixed seafood penne recipe as stated on their online menu, should have asparagus. My meal had loads of imitation crab, 4 shrimp and plenty of parm cheese, but no asparagus. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. more

Great place to dine in.... 9/8/2011

Thanks again to my friend for advice on a great place to dine... I went on there new location on Friday. It was cracking' - full house. We didn't have to wait long for a table though - score! We decided to split a salad - Amante's House Salad. My friend & I agreed that it was one of the most delicious salads that we have ever had more

Worst Customer Service EVER!!!!!! 6/7/2011

My family went out to celebrate a birthday with a party of 16 people... We were really the only party left in the restaurant, we ordered our food and it took an hour and a half to get our dinner side salads. My sister and I both ordered the chicken parmesan with marinara sauce... when we finally got our food I took one bite and realized that there was red meat sauce all over my chicken parmesan, keep in mind I am pregnant, type one diabetic and have not eaten red meat in over 17 years because my sister almost died of e. coli when she was four years old. I asked our waitress, who was the only nice part about the restaurant why there was red meat on our plates... She said they must have run out of the marinara and just put what they had left on our dinners!!!! No one seemed to care that we were so unhappy so I walk over and nicely spoke to the owners of the restaurant who instead of apologizing and asking if we wanted something else told me there was not red meat on our plates!!!! I was in shock, they have no idea what customer service is!!!!! As the owner is denying there is chunks of red meat on my plate the nice waitress brought my plate to the owner and presented her the obvious meat in plain sight, the owner still denied... still with no apology. Wow! I have never been treated so poorly in any restaurant establishment, they truly have no idea how to treat people, please learn your manners!!!!! Do not eat at Amante in Issaquah!!!! Horrible! more

DO NOT ORDER FOR DELIVERY 3/2/2011

they can't hear you. THEY'LL KEEP ASKING YOU TO REPEAT WHAT YOU SAID, BUT THEY STILL CAN'T HEAR YOU. when they read your order back, you can't hear them. you'll get jalapeno poppers ($$) instead of a little cup of jalapeno peppers, and a siciliano pizza ($$) instead of an insalata caprese. don't even think about calling to ask for a credit -- they will refuse, yell, and then hang up on you! (yes, they can see from your phone number that you have been ordering from them for 2 years. they don't care.) you don't need this. more

Amante's LISTEN UP! 12/11/2010

We tried this new restaurant on Friday night. It was busy and they did not appear to have enough service. I can't understand what a italian restaurant does not serve table bread. Why was this a big deal? Well we had to wait 40 minutes for our appetizer after inquiring when it was coming. It took about 20 minutes for us to even get our order taken. I noticed alot of other tables were not being served who were there before us. However, on a positive note, we very much enjoyed the food. It was not too spicy like Lombardis can be and they were very big portions. We thought overall the price was fair with the portions delivered. Ambience wise it was mixed. It was not a loud restaurant but the decor is alittle on the cheap, Can we say home depot shelves? However, we have had such lousy service at Lombardis lately that we will likely switch for awhile as to when we want to eat italian in Issaquah. I always give a restaurant 3 shakes before I refuse to go back there. Servers were ok. I just don't think there were enough of them to handle the restaurant.....and please.....if you are going to be a authentic italian restaurant and have a slower turn around for ordering and appetizers-GET some table bread! more

Please People get real! 8/17/2010

Saying that you do have restaurant experience and specially experience managing a restaurant is absolute lie, if that is true, which I do not think so, then you are going to know that in busy time and specially Friday (which is one of the busiest days for every restaurant), nobody in the world can not do everything in the same time! That's simply imposable! Yes, Amante's are late sometimes, we are ordering from them very often, but I am going to ask you a simple question: Why do you think they are so busy? and my answer: Because they are offering THE BEST ITALIAN IN TOWN!!! After so many deliveries and not having problems with them, one day they were late and they make a small mistake and you are creating a big deal from that! I am working like a server in a restaurant for 7 years now, do you know how many cases we do have with bogus calls? Do you have experience the situation having the feeling that the whole world want's to eat in the same time, have you been extrimely tired after all that? Have you ever been in Amante's restaurant in Issaquah, do you know how small is the place and how busy they are, and again like somebody with that kind of experience should know that we have to appreciate the people handling our food and specially in days when we are too lazy to stand up from the couch and cook! more

Worst Customer service EVER! 7/22/2010

I usually order from the every friday night to the tune of $50 bucks or more. I usually get great food at a resonable time frame. \r \r This time how ever was a complete mind blowing experience. I called after 1 1/2 hrs of waiting for a delievery to see what was up and was finally told abrubtly that it was out for delievery and they were really busy and the lady hung up. \r \r I was okay with that being a Ex 25 year restaruant managing Vet myslef. \r \r 30 mins later the pizza and wings arrive. I watch the man pull my food from the trunk of his car not heat bag or anything just ya know in the trunk there... \r \r both wings and pizza are luke warm. I sign the slip and he goes on his way. \r \r Needless to say the entire top of the pizza is stuck to the top of the box literally seporating the entire topings from the crust. So I call back the first gentleman says he can give me 15% off my next order I said You dont understand sir we cant eat this even.\r \r He puts me on hold and gets a lady who tells me she will give me a refund, I said I really just want a new Pizza She says ""oh fine we want the other one back like I was trying to scam her. Fine what every your welcome to it ""I hope they dont recycle Yuck""\r \r The guy again shows up 30 mins later and pulls my pizza out of his trunk again takes a look at the first pizza and acts like he would have paid his hard earned money for that piece of poo and I highly doubt that he would have. Any way I hope my $200+ bucks a month will be missed and send the message this is unacceptable and no matter how good you think you are You want my money you got to earn it just like I do. \r \r They just lost customer and free advertising I told every one I know how great this place was now I'll Tell every one I know not to ever ever go their and to tell their friends Pros: the food is normaly good Cons: If there is a problem you are treaded like a criminal more

The Best Pizza in Issaquah and around 7/19/2009

This is the best pizza I have ever eaten. We had Spartacus pizza,it was very good and very tasty. For desert we had Tiramisu which was again the best Tiramisu we have eaten so far. We will definitely return to try other dishes. more

Great neighborhood restaurant 6/25/2009

The pizzas are very tasty, with a lot of good ingredients. I wish there were a few more selections for the traditional flavors, but you can customize. The chicken parmegian was wonderful, although I'm certain it was not prepared on premises. Thechicken was a tad dry, but very delicioso. The house wine is fabulous and you get a really full glass for a very decent price. Worth the trip for a glass! The basic sauce can't be beat by any restaurant in Seattle, it's that good. Love the pizza dough. Calzones are HUGE and stuffed with goodies. No skimping here! Be prepared to take home half! Get brave, try one of the specials with seafood ingredients. You won't be disapointed. Staff friendly, but overworked during rush time.\r Pianoguy Pros: Close, reasonably priced, lots of food, good tasting Cons: some dishes are frozen, but it's all homemade more

Definitely the best Italian food on the east side 4/23/2009

We found Amante off the beaten path, just off Gilman, and boy were we glad we did. After trying every other pizzaria around Issaquah, as well as a foray into the other ""popular"" Italian eateries, none of them have compared with the food we found at Amante.\r \r The setting was remarkably small, and really casual, which made me wary... until I tasted the food. The delicious food made up for everything else that I might have had reservations about. \r \r They have by far the best pizza in town, their menu is very extensive with a lot of traditional and favorite pasta preparations, the service is very friendly, and they have a menu board at the front with daily specials, which are usually something worthwhile and delicious.\r \r Amante's Issaquah location is one of those places that makes it unnecessary to trek into downtown Seattle for good food. Pros: Extensive menu, delicious food, best pizza in Issaquah Cons: No significant cons worth mentioning. more

Great value, good food, a surprisingly nice little spot 4/4/2009

Can't remember why we first tried this place out a year or so ago, but now we go pretty regularly - it's affordable, quite a cozy atmosphere inside despite the odd location and building exterior, and the service is always friendly and fast. The food comes quickly, the salads are crunchy and fresh, the portions are more than generous enough, and there are numerous neat wines for low prices - $27/bottle. Once we brought our own, and they did not even charge corkage, as they are hardworking people who just want to stay busy and get you to come back - and so we do! Calzones, eggplant rollups, and a number of the pastas are really very good for the ""pizza place"" prices that they charge, and the interior is a comfy, low-lit place to sit and finish your wine when the meal is over. Recommended! Pros: Food is fast, hot, fresh, generous, and just creative enough Cons: None, really more

Amante?s exquisite cuisine elicits salivation 9/22/2008

I grew up in Issaquah, and I thought I knew every restaurant Issaquah had to offer, but I had never heard of Amante until about a week ago. Issaquah?s Amante is located in a cute European-style building on Locust Street , and is fairly well hidden from the heavy traffic cruising down Gilman Boulevard. The interior is small and cozy with only a dozen or so tables, but a courtyard also contains a couple more. On a quiet evening, my two friends and I were shown a spot by the window by our friendly server. The first thing that struck each of us was the extensive menu. Amante offers 17 salads; 30 pizzas; six calzones; 10 ?hot oven grinders? (such as turkey or roast beef entrees); nine hot sandwiches; 28 pastas; and 12 desserts. The menu even features a ?low-carb? section with six more entrees. Amante also allows guests to create their own pizzas and calzones by picking and choosing their own ingredients. Sizes for pizzas range from 10 inches to 18 inches. Entrees range from about $7 to close to $30 (mostly for the extra large pizzas). However, most entrees run between $9 and $15. . Everything on the menu looked quite delicious, and after coming to terms with the fact we could not possibly eat everything on the menu in one sitting, we made our selections. I order the chicken penne pasta. I received an entree of grilled chicken, artichoke hearts and garlic, all lathered in pesto sauce. The meal was beyond delicious and quite possibly some of the best Italian cuisine I?ve ever eaten. My friends ordered the four cheese baked spaghetti and ?Spartacus? pizza. I tried a bite of the spaghetti, which was rich and also very delicious. As somebody with an unhealthy obsession with cheese, I can confidently recommend the dish. The four cheese baked spaghetti and the chicken penne, were very generous servings. My friend found the pizza to be quite tasty. The restaurant also delivers, and guests can order food online. \r For tasty Italian in Issaquah, look no further. Pros: Free Delivery, Kids Friendly, Familly Dinning, Romantic Diner more

Very Good Pie 7/5/2008

We've only had the pizza here, and my husband and I split on how good it was. I thought it was VERY good, and he thought so-so. We both love Flying Pie and he thought FP was much better than this. My biggest complaint is the cost of the pizza. We ordered a 10"", a 15"", and a side salad (cheese, and pepperoni-mushroom). The take out bill was $42. Now I don't mind paying for good pizza (e.g. Flying Pie is a pricey pizza), but you should get more for your money. For the same cost, you'd get about 30% more pie from FP. The side salad was a caesar and the dressing was average. I'd like to try the pasta, as the reviews are very good but I'm not sure if I can get my husband to go again. Like I said, we did take-out, but the place IS really cute and the atmosphere is good. You wouldn't think there'd be a restaurant in the location it's in, but if you don't care about getting the most for your money it's worth a trip. Pros: Great Food Cons: Weird location and too expensive for what you get more
