My wife is diligent about changing engine oil so the car she brought to All American Lube was not neglected. She was told that the engine was low on oil, that the oil was dirty and the engine needed a $59 flush. This is a scam. Google engine flush scam to learn what Popular Mechanics magazine has to say. Oil is supposed to get dirty, that's its function. It takes years of neglect to build up sludge that blocks oil passages. Just looking at the filler cap will give an indication of sludge. This car has less that 50,000 miles. Engines do not burn oil unless something is wrong. A low oil level is not dangerous unless their is insufficient oil to lubricate the engine. Of course All American didn't say that. They equate low oil level with dangerous oil level and dirty oil a with 'problem' that requires an engine flush. This is not the first time my wife has been subjected to this scam tactic. This time having a guilty conscience about delaying the oil change and wanting to do the right thing to protect her daughter from harm she succumbed to the scare tactic that turned a $30 oil change into a $95 oil change. Stay away from this company. Do your homework and learn something about oil and oil change intervals. It's right there in your car's handbook.
