Barbecue was the mushy kind you can get out of a can. Sauce nothing special. People very nice, but would not go back.

Amazing BBQ, Friendly staff, Great prices 9/5/2008

I've never written a review on citysearch but felt compelled to put in a good word for alexander's while I eat one of their pork bbq sandwichs. This place serves my favorite food in the world. Dan and Lori Alexander have been serving the most unique, tender bbq around for 19 years. I've been eating at the restaurant for 8 of those 19 and am there usually once a week. It's the type of place you wouldn't think of going if you hadn't heard of it before, a little off the beaten path but well worth the effort. For under $7 you can get a giant bbq sandwich, fries, and homemade sweet tea. I can promise you, you will not be dissapointed! Try the ribs too, I think they're cooked for 8 hours or so. DELICIOUS! Pros: Incredible BBQ at great prices Cons: Location is a little out of the way for most more

gotta be the best in richmond ! 11/1/2007

Wow ! This BBQ is great ! With the great taste, the amount you get for such little money, you just can't go wrong ! nice people, great food, what's not to love ? Pros: great food, great service :) more

You can do better at the grocery store 10/8/2007

In my opinion, there are 3 acceptable ways to serve barbecued pork. You can slice it, pull it, or chop it. These folks have taken it to the next step - processed. Imagine a mediocre pork roast, a little ketchup, sugar, and (believe it or not) cinnamon tossed into a food processor and turned into a stringy paste. Somebody else compared it to what you can get from a can. That's right on the money. If you bypass the canned offerings at the grocery store and go to the refrigerated section, you can find better bbq than this in plastic tubs. Pros: ample parking Cons: poor quality barbeque more

Wow! 6/21/2007

This place is GREAT! The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is even better. The food comes out hot and made to order, and is extremely quick. All the employees are very polite and friendly! This restaurant is highly recommended! Pros: food, service, speed, overall everything! Cons: NONE! more

Great BBQ! 5/19/2007

Not only are the people who wait on you kind, but the BBQ is great! We were not disappointed at all. Would highly recommend this restaurant to others who like a good BBQ sandwich at very affordable prices. I recommend getting the ""Super Q"" sandwich....you'll be full when you finish it!! Pros: Great BBQ!.....very relaxed, casual setting. Fast service & very affordable prices more

My Favorite in Town! 11/22/2006

I LOVE this barbeque! It is very saucy, which I love, and their family pack for four serves up to six big pigs! I think the baked beans and cole slaw that go with it are out of this world. Can't imagine negative reviews. Glad this place is in my neighborhood! more

Some people like the style, some don't. Those of us who have enjoyed real BBQ probably won't. more
