Good Mexican option in Dupont 9/12/2005

I agree that the food isn't quite as good as Cactus Cantina, but nevertheless is a good value. Decent-sized entrees run about $9-15, and the chips and salsa are almost a meal in themselves. It smelled a bit odd when I was there, but perhaps that was because we were seated in the corner near a closet. more

Good Food, Great For Birthdays! 9/11/2005

I've been to Alero's once for my birthday, the food is good, not quite as good as cactus cantina, but a bit cheaper overall. However, when it is your birthday they play music and bring out a desert while putting a sombrero and poncho on you... Great fun. Then they take pictures and give you one and put one on the wall. If you come back for your birthday next year, your meal is free! Excellent! more

I am always astounded at how good it is. Alero has no equal. Consistently superior to all other Mexican restaurants. Food here is beyond the quality of all other Mexican restaurants. The flavors, colors and textures max out the top of the excellence scale. You are guaranteed the best Mexican food you've ever eaten. Margaritas are also unrivaled. This is the only Mexican restaurant to consider. Worth traveling long distances for. I return again and again only because it is so much better than all the others more
