Alamo Health Care Systems

I was a patient of Dr. Ellis at Alamo for a long time before his recent move out of state. I was worried they would not find a replacement that would live up to him but thankfully they did! I shouldn't have worried and am still very content going to Alamo for all my medical needs - they are my primary doctors and I have also seen Dr. Nelson every now and then when the bursitis in my shoulder gets too much for me to handle. I am always treated well and will be returning. Everyone there is very knowledgeable and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a doctor in the stone oak area of san antonio. more

I have seen Dr Yankov at Alamo many times for migraine treatment. I called to get a last minute appointment for a headache that just wouldn't quit and the receptionist booked me quickly with a new neurologist who just joined the office. I was hesitant at first - I was worried that he was new and worried because he had availability! - but the appointment turned out very well. Dr. Brahin was wonderful and sweet and spent a LOT of time going over migraine treatment/prevention with me. I had to bring my kids with me that day and he was especially good with them. I still love Dr. Yankov of course but would gladly snap up an appointment with either doctor, both are smart and caring. I would tell anyone with terrible headaches to go to Alamo for treatment. more

I had seen Dr. Lowry at Alamo for physical therapy following a car accident last year, and this time around I took my husband to see him after he injured himself during a fall. As always, Dr. Lowry was wonderful and personable and gave my husband exactly what he needed. He is very attentive and makes you feel like a member of his family so you are aware that you are getting the best care possible. Thanks to him, my husband is completing the healing process and is almost back to normal. Dr Lowry is an excellent doctor and if anything happens in the future I will definitely go back to see him before anyone else. more

Went with my wife and father in law to see a neurologist about his dementia. Doctor was very nice and definitely went out of his was to answer all ,my wife's questions. Even got the approval of my father in law. Alamo was great and will be primary doctor for my dad from now on. more

If you need a refill on your pain medication, don't count on very much help here! Doctor is HARD to get hold of, staff won't listen to your concerns, & pain relief is NOT going to be had with these guys! Pros: Good for diagnosis. Cons: BAD for Rx refills! more
