If your adventerous for Indian food, and don't mind a lack of amenities or ambiance, than you might want to check out Al Madina Super Market.
It is mainly a supermarket, with a Mom and Pop style little restaurant on the side. Now I said Indian food, and Indian food fanatics will surely find some dishes that are familiar, but this is mainly Indo / Pak food, with a strong leaning towards the Pak side. So if you have tried dishes such as Haleem, and Nihari, then this place is really good. Haleem is a dish with beef and barley mashed with an assortment of spices. Nihari is their beef stew, albeit much spicier. I've tried Nihari at several places, and this is near the tops. With your meals, be they takeout or dine-in, you will get a mound of basmiti, or one visit, I got lemon rice, a piece of nan, and she will also throw in a dessert too. This can be the Halwa ( semolina style consistency), or some kheer. She has other things she can cook for you, but she almost always has 5 or 6 things cooked already similar to a cafeteria style, so truly, every day is a new adventure. Or she can cook such things as curries, kormas, etc.
The lady who runs the food stand is extremely gracious, and will take time to explain everything to you if you like. She is Muslim - Indian, hence all the beef, along with chicken, she has on the menu.
