Good pizza, jagoff employees 4/19/2011

I really like the pizza and go there when I'm in town, but the guys behind the counter are jagoffs. 1 guy is too cocky and the other is always berating his employees and pissed off. I actually had an older employee hold out his tip jar and tap it on the counter with attitude as he handed me back my change. Jagoff more

Best Pizza in Pittsburgh 9/18/2010

I tried out many pizza places in Pittsburgh before going to Aiello's, and they are by far the best.... more

Expected Better 4/9/2010

I've ate great pizza all over NYC, Philadelphia, and Connecticut and when I read the reviews and saw the website, I had to try this place. However, I was disappointed, I thought the pizza sauce was great, other than that it was just so-so. I ordered what I always order, half sausage and mushrooms, half plain cheese. The cheese half was great; however the topping were not. The mushrooms were canned and the sausage had way too many fennel seeds in it. If the mushrooms weren't so soggy the pizza definitely would have been much better. No complaints on the cheese or crust, and the pizza sauce is one of the best I've had in awhile. I recommend a plain pie. Pros: Great Sauce Cons: Canned Mushrooms more

Aiello's Comedy Club 12/26/2008

When you spend money at a restaurant the least you can expect is to be treated with a degree of civility, after all you are the reason the place is in business. A trip to Aiello's will leave a reasonable person spinning. If you can believe it, the inexperienced people working there treat the business like a hobby, complete with the childish behavior one could expect at a high school cafeteria. The people (children) behind the counter actually ridicule the customers with off hand comments, snickering, all under their breath and with the blessing of the owners immature son. I assume this is how they amuse themselves while they are supposed to be working. If you dont mind being the subject of childish humor the food isnt half bad. Only recommended for take-out if your really hungry and Mineo's is closed. more

Best on the Hill (not saying much) 12/20/2007

I had been told by so many people to goto Mineos, so I did. I read a review of Mineos and saw someone said to stop by Aiello's too, so I did. Glad I did. Aiello's is a sad looking sterile pizzeria. Almost seems like a lunchroom or commisary of some sort. The pizza is ok, nothing to write home about. The sauce is close to very good. The cheese slides right off with your first bite and that just shouldn't happen. Better than Mineo's, but that is just not saying much. Pittsburgh pizza just can't hold a candle to the better pizza in the country. I'm from NYC and am biased, but can name 5-10 cities which have better pizza than Mineo's and Aiello's two of Pittsburgh's supposed finest. Pros: better than Mineo's more

The Best Pizza in Pittsburgh 12/3/2006

I mean the only thing to say is that the sauce is the best pizza sauce I have ever had. I have eaten pizza all over the world, and I still would choose aiellos over any of them. I have also been to Pizzaria Bianco in Arizona, which is very famous, and I must say that I like aiellos better. I have been going there for 10 years now, and will never stop. It's vey different from vincent's, but I still prefer it because it is not as heavy and the sauce is better. Pros: The sauce is amazing more

Number One Spot 7/21/2005

BEST BAR NONE!!!!!!!! 5/19/2004

Listen, if anyone on planet earth knows good Pizza, it's yours truly. In my line of work I've been to italy several times where some of the best Pizza on the planet is to be had. Aiellos compares to some of the best Pizza Italy has to offer. Made the same way! Been going to Aiello's since he started the business over 25 yrs ago. The owner is the same guy who was the main Pizza maker at Mineos when they were known as the best in town! \r \r Rick L..\r \r \r Ps: Those that think Mineo's is better, needs their Taste Buds Tested. Not even close! Pros: Crust, Sauce, Overall Ingredients Cons: If you like Great Pizza, there is No Cons more
