We have used ABT in the past and loved them. Still a little pricey, but good service. This year for our daughter's birthday party, we ordered a tent, chairs and round tables. Everyone was pleasant on the phone and I confirmed items and prices over a month in advance.
Two days before the party, the female representative called to ask if I could change our tent type and table type to accommodate a bride. I said I really wanted what I had ordered. She pressed me, and I initially agreed to compromise on some tables (which she said she'd provide for free). Just hours later I called and said that the banquet tables she had pushed wouldn't work for our party, that I felt pressured to help her with her problem, and that I wanted the round tables I was promised (and had paid a deposit on). She agreed to get us the round tables. The day before the party, they delivered the wrong tables. Later that day they did eventually deliver the rounds, but they that were beat up and needed tablecloths--the ones I initially ordered did not. So we had to make a trip the night before and pay for tablecloths.
Although I was frustrated, we were happy with the tent, and the party was a success, and I thought I'd let it go. After the party, she called to ask for my credit card number (a second time) but couldn't give me a total. I gave her the number and thought all was settled.
She called again a couple of days later and asked for the number again and gave me a total that was $60 over the agreed price. She tried to tack on delivery (which was waived due to an online coupon) and charge me more for the tent she asked me to take and the tables she said she wouldn't charge me for. In short, lots of calls and lots of hassle and I had to keep reminding her of what she quoted me and when (luckily I had taken detailed notes). Finally, she came to the correct total, but then took another call and I was disconnected. I called back and was asked to give her my credit card a third time! Buyer Beware -- tents are nice but service is falling short in 2011! We will not use them again. BTW: I am not a picky or high maintenance customer.
