Advantage Lock & Key

I just got ripped off and am really angry. I found this company on the internet site" run local locksmith". It comes up first on the google search. The site talks about $15 service calls though when you talk to them it is clear the drive over is $15, the lock picking cost is unclear. They indicated they could not pick a simple doorknob lock. It must be malfunctioning. They would have to either drill it and ruin the lock $159 or air blow it for $259! typically a call like this should be $65. I was pissed but didn't collect myself enough to say no, I'll get a second opinion. I said ruin the lock for $159. he said I tell you what, I'll air blow it for $159 and write it on the invoice as a drill job. The air blow took 60 seconds!!! Wow was I pissed! Believe me I'm calling their manager and my credit card company. They are not to be trusted. Especially after seeing these other reviews. more

Like every review in here i was given a quote for around $50 and then when the punk kid looked in my window and unlocked it the bill came to $159. He said since there was to many electronics in the door he couldn't use a slim jim and had to pump the door open. Won't every car made after 1996 pretty much have electronics in the door you douche. Why didn't the laidy i talked to just tell me "hey if you have power window and door locks it's going to be $160" this company is worthless! more

Like scooter said below they will give you a quote that is reasonable as to everyone else that you will call and then they show up get your car unlocked and hand you a bill for $160 bucks!!! All the while tell you that your insurance will cover the majority of it and that if your interested in a quote you shouldn't talk to the "desk girls, because they can't accurately give quotes".. " you should always ask for a manager".. wow... seriously... then why did you hire them.. to give out false information while being paid $8 bucks an hour... great business practice.. you can bet your bottom dollar i'm calling up the better business bureau and any local media to show this business for what it really is a SCAM!! Whatever you do, do not call this place or even subject your time to a worthless bunch of thieves! more

Dishonest, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Hands down the worst locksmith in Portland. These guys will give you a great quote over the phone, but its a LIE. I had them come to unlock my truck door, they gave me a quote between 35$ and 55$. I thought it sounded reasonable, however ; after the guy opened the door he handed me a bill for 150$. I immediately got on the phone and tried to get a hold of his supervisor, I was told they would call me back (did not happen) After I called back several times,they had the same guy that ripped me off call me back, so I asked to speak with someone in the billing department . He then put me on hold for a minute and when he got back on he tried to pretend he was the billing department. I have since then tried to get a hold of a supervisor, but no matter what time I call there is not one around. I have been robbed by a den of thieves, don't let it happen to you. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! WORST LOCKSMITH EVER!!!! Grade= F-- more

THEY SHOULD CHANGE THEIR NAME TO "TAKING ADVANTAGE LOCK AND KEY" This company ripped me off..I called to speak with management about the fact that I felt they pulled a BATE AND SWITCH on me and you know what they said to me!!! They said " unless YOU ASK what the max charge could be we aren't going to tell you" I feel like this is a bate and switch and I will never use there service again. more
